  1. Blackman wins big. 45-12 in the worst officiated game that I've ever seen
  2. I think that Shad was an ok pick. I was really worried that Kevin Dyson was the front runner.
  3. Well 65 got hurt and had an awful game too. Maybe it was just a good match up between no-so-good teams. I hope we can pull it off at Overton!
  4. Changing the subject, but what is the deal with lineman that Smyrna was so proud of? The one in the paper, he was wearing #69. He got pushed around all night. Maybe he had a bad game, I don't know. I learned a lot tonight at the game. Blackman is showing signs of improvement. I know that sounds hard to believe considering they didn't score, but they could have easily dominated Smyrna if they hadn't killed themselves with penalties. Let me add this also. To anyone that thinks Blackman would be better if the assistant principal was the coach, beware. I think that the housing market in the Blackman Community would suffer if he were to be named coach. Parents with student athletes would move in order to keep him from being an influence on their kids.
  5. I don't have a dog in this fight, but I am pullin' for the Stars. Coach Watson is a really good coach and was awesome to play for. I hope Siegel beats Riverdale, Brentwood, and La Vergne and then decide to take a week off so Blackman can give 'em their second loss of the season.
  6. Tennessee vs. Alabama two years ago when Foster forgot that the ball has to go with you into the endzone. Devestating 6-3 loss
  7. Don't forget about that USC domination on 9/13/08! Sorry I had to do it
  8. I'm going with the Stars under former Blackman coaching. 28-13
  9. Good post Doc. I have tried to help out at practice. The last time I tried was when Wells was recovering, and the hotshot know-it-all that they had filling in, said if he needed help he would find it. I think if education is your number one concern (as it should be) then Gail Vick is the principal you want. She is not going to hire a coach to teach, only teachers who will coach. This is obvious if you look at the sidelines. Oh yeah, I also heard from several players that Crocker was a headache. Collier can throw the ball. I've seen it at practice. I honestly believe that the reason that Blackman doesn't pass is because the receivers have no idea where to go or what to do, which is not their fault.
  10. I agree that weight training is important but I DO NOT think that Riverdale was much if any stronger than Blackman. According to the BHS website, most of the linemen are benching much more than body weight, and have respectful squats and cleans. I've also seen Riverdales line working out at my gym on "dead period" and they are strong but nothing special. Speed was a factor though. Riverdale was obviously a little faster. Lost Old Dad, I would be willing to bet that ANY of these kids would toss you around with ease. LOL I'm not picking a fight---all in good fun. Gaston Miller was in a league of his own though.
  11. Let me start by saying that I am new to this. I decided to "vent" on here because my brother plays for Blackman and I don't want to say anything that will discourage him. CHANGE is exactly what Blackman needs. I have tried to give the coaching staff a break because I hear parents in the stands blaming them all the time, but like footballmom stated, at some point you have to wonder what is going on. If you are committed to the running game, then get in a running formation! The Patton kid amazed me again this week. He plays like a champion every down. Other than him, Blackman looked flat. Congrats to Riverdale. They proved that they are still a force in the region.
