  1. Commie, your obsession with the fact that Maryville will always be better than your squad is unhealthy.
  2. Actuality, Commie, most of us that do walk around with our chest out do it because we are SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOU. At everything. Life, football, Fandom. Everything.
  3. Also, where was the bogus 5 yrd penalty? I saw ZERO that either side could whine about referees.
  4. Oakland had one significant run that gashed Maryville. They earned that for sure. The muffed punt turned the game. If Rebels score on that pos, game is over, wind is out of sails. Was a great game, and Oakland took advantage of those two things.
  5. Oakland was a long run, and a muffed punt away from getting blown out.
  6. LMAO how does it feel to be so wrong all the time?
  7. The only player making it rain yellow is the walking personal foul that flew the coup to Georgia.
  8. YEAH SCREW THE RULES IT WAS ILLEGAL BECAUSE I SAY SO Your post is a joke. Go crawl in a hole.
  9. If a flag came down, I would not have argued. Could definitely be considered a false start. The fact that one didn't come down, after watching the replays and thinking about the rule, there's no thought in my mind that this no-call is "wrong." Legitimately could have been the "right" call either way, IMO.
  10. You absolutely can. You just can't be moving forward AT THE SNAP. Think of a running back who's standing next to the QB. He approaches the line, then motions to the slot receiver. He moves forward first.
  11. Now - I'll be objective and give you an argument you can latch on to. It can DEFEINITELY be argued that his motion/shift simulated action at the snap. AND, now that you've latched on to that argument, let's hear from you or any Oakland fan how their punt shifts aren't simulations. This never gets called on shifts and/or motions. If they missed the FG because of this, then they missed EVERY SINGLE ONE when Oakland punted.
  12. Let me lay it out for you. One player may be in motion at the snap, so long as it is not toward the opponents goal line (read - line of scrimmage). Key modifier in this rule is AT THE SNAP. He was in motion, but not towards the line at the snap. You clearly do not know the NFHS rules ... maybe you are citing NFL or NCAA rules, but you're wrong on this one.
  13. Calhouns is great and reasonable for ribs, bbq, and steak. Good craft beer too. Like others have said, Aubrey's is good. Little expensive for the quality, IMO.
  14. Back when the classes stopped at 5A, Maryville dominated 4A and was always told we couldn't play with the "big boys" of Knoxville in 5A. In fall 2009, we went to 6A... went to the state finals undefeated. No Knoxville team can sniff Maryville year in and year out, for some reason. Farragut and Bearden have had some good teams. West ALWAYS plays Maryville close, but consistently, no one has competed. That's always been funny to me.
  15. I wasn't specifically speaking to you, because of course I don't know who your child is. But generally, when people cry about M or A recruiting, it's because their child plays for a team with a jerk as a coach or their team is bad. I would absolutely move to two of the best school systems in the state if it also meant my child got to play on an elite athletic team for coaching staffs that are phenomenal gentlemen off the field.
  16.:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry: WAHHHHHHHHHHH WAH WAH WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Those parents don't want their child to play football with your child because he's bad. That's basically what it comes down to. So they move and get rings.
  17. If you have this idiotic opinion, then you must be the Mike Hamilton of evaluating coaches.
  18. Inb4 MHS steals Shad and WB is back in the tank.
  19. 6A rejoices! Ya'll can make fun of Maryville fans all you want, and yes, we're very sad he's leaving, but very proud of him. What's really funny is the celebrations going on because GQ owns every other program in the state.
  20. I thought the interview was absolutely great. She did fine, and he was exquisite. He handled himself very, very, very well. You guys should be proud, and you obviously are. But she did fine, there's no way she knew he was a Dr. and he doesn't seem like the guy who would boast about being a Dr. Calm yourselves.
  21. Your taste in comedy mirrors your taste in football teams, methinks
  22. They played great this year. But it takes a lot more than one or two years to become a "football town." You own the bragging rights until next year though. All it takes is a look back at this decade to know which side of the state has the best football.
  23. Don't get a big head... Oh wait, too late.
  24. Great game! Defenses were wild good. Congratulations to the Haven.
