  1. Oakland's gonna come out running like they always do. The main thing is stopping that running back. If Blackman can get a passing game going, which will be hard consdering the talent of Oakland db's. itll be a good game.
  2. I do not think I would neccessarily consider this game "easy". wel, we played one of the top teams in the state last week in a game that definitely shouldnt have been a first-rounder, maybe a second or third. and Blackman and Riverdale are two of the top teams in the state, there's no way that should be a second round game. of course no games in the state tournament are going to be "easy" because all the teams earned their way there, but Oakland did get off relatively easy in the scheduling this week. I cant wait til they redo the tournament format and we can actually be excited about the later games since more of the teams who should be there will be there.
  3. considering our first round, this is a relatively easy second round game, but Oakland still needs to come to play a lot of good teams get beat cause they dont take the other team seriously i still think theyll pull away with ith a win though.
  4. All I have to say is, a few years ago, when the current juniors were freshman, Mount Juliet was the only team during their freshman football season that beat them by a large margin. This was the championship game, and i dont think that they've forgotten since this will be their first chance to get back at the team that humiliated them. I expect Tee Mayberry to put up huge numbers.
  5. Dude, just quit with the excuses and wait for next year, you know you'll probably be back.

  7. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know Franklin was that good. Last I checked Oakland earned their way into the state too and if you think it's a sure shot for Franklin, you're in for a surprise.
  8. The semi-state finals. If you would've told me a year ago that Oakland was going to be here, I would've laughed in your face. Sure I was at the freshman games and saw Christian Adams playing beyond anybody's expectaions even then, I also saw Dre Frazier refusing to be brought down by ANYBODY. In fact I heard Coach Bartsch's motto was, "Dre all day." I was also there when Precious Valentine was plowing over anybody in his path and B.J. Nelson was juking people out of there socks, I mean, I played with these guys, but I still didn't see this coming. They have blown everybody's expectations right out of the water. But the scariest part is, I talked to some of the players today, and they said that they're actually practicing HARDER than they have been all year. Now don't fet me wrong, I'm not guarranteeing a victory, but if they've played as good as they have all year, (with the exception of Lebanon) and they're practicing harder now than they've been all year, grab the popcorn and just be thankful to be a part of one of the bes Oakland teams that has ever showed up.
  9. Oakland can't be all pass-happy now, but it is going to help having a more balnced attack. The pass first mentality worked last week because nobody saw it coming. Christian Adams has a great arm though. I'm looking forward to seeing him develop
  10. D-line: Tim Mcadoo should definitely be considered for Oakland. He anchored the Oakland d-line the same way Haynesworth anchors the Titans line.
  11. Wilson Central is a good team, but they're going to have to step up pretty much everything. Oakland may do good, but they'll have to rely on a team with 0 playoff experience.
  12. I agree, I think the differnence between this year's O and last year's O is the speedy O-line, and the stamina shown by everybody on the team. I was there for both Coach Ferg's agility practices and I watched some of Coach Mac's agilities. Coach Ferg would only halfway run the players and Coach Mac would run everyone until they puked
  13. I also hope Bryson's in top shape, because if we can stop him at the top of his game, because, if we make it far into the state, we're going to need that kind of experience against running backs at that skill leve,l and higher. Also don't forget that our defence does get good practice against Precious Valentine and B.J. Nelson. That may help them get prepared for Bryson, our d-line is UNSTOPPABLE though.
  14. I know this year we have a lot of supporters 4 the Oakland football team. I've been looking forward to a year like this since I was a freshman at Oakland. Now that the year has finally come I can't keep the news to myself. Oakland is 6-0 and has there first legitimate shot at a state championship in almost 8 years. I know some of you people in Chattanooga and Memphis and places like that don't know who Oakland is and don't care, but let me tell you now, you better watch out because the red wave is coming
