  1. Aside from the first drive Alcoa is bending, but not breaking.
  2. That OL is having their way with Alcoa. Not something you see everyday.
  3. CPA looks impressive. Nice to sit here an watch on tv for free, lol.
  4. Two players with broken bones in their ankle at the end of the football season at that. Talk about a streak of bad luck.
  5. From what I know about him, baseball is life. He is a baseball guy at heart, and plays football. He just plays any sport with a ball because he loves to play, but if had to pick a favorite I would guess baseball. He's been on teams that travel competitively since he was old enough to. Pretty sure he's been a part of some championships as well.
  6. I agree definitely lol. Now the article did mention he was looking at playing short stop in baseball as a choice as well. That ship is the defending champ.
  7. https://vanderbilt.Unapproved Website/barrier_noentry.asp?sid=1087&script=%2Fcontent%2Easp&cid=1702905 Unfortunately you have to pay for an account to get the whole story and I'm not doing that. But I did hear he visited and they were interested and he had a good time.
  8. Bumping this because I didn't want to make a thread just to talk about this. Saw Jennings on the front page of Vanderbilt sports page. https://vanderbilt.Unapproved Website
  9. That only proves my point. I believe it. We just keep bein told we are a poor county with no money. Probably true. Oh well, I guess. Anyway. The cannon comment is because "facilities" include a broad selection. There are other areas such as football where cannon is about the only school in a situation like we are. We are a 4a school with 1a schools blowing us away with seating. That's ridiculous.
  10. And yes I've attended practices.
  11. You're kidding yourself bud. I have been to games for longer than I can remember and been to any school you can name. We are dead last in facilities besides cannon county. Our academics are terrible like it or not. I went to school in dekalb my whole life and yes our school is behind. And yes I do know about the coach an practices. I personally knew most players on the team and they all had the same story. I could go on but I'm not starting that argument online.
  12. Can't say I didn't see it coming. SM's only two losses are to Notre Dame (9-1, sole loss to Knox catholic) and Greeneville who is also 9-1.
  13. Halftime score: Signal Mountain 42 DC 3. We are just out matched badly. Jennings has had a few sparks here and there but is mostly running for his life. Signal has a D lineman (maybe defensive end) the announcers said is committed to Mississippi state and he has been eating our OL alive.
  14. Honestly hoping it's not a blow out. I'll enjoy watching either way. If we keep it close or somehow win it would just be a huge bonus. I am prepared for a huge defeat though. The more I look into who they've played and how they've done it just doesn't look good.
  15. Mostly everything I'm reading about the coaching and program seems to be true. We just don't work like you see these state contenders from our district work. Our practices are somewhat of a joke and the coach is too much of a joke around I'm your best friend type. That's a lot of people's opinion. Another major thing that hurts our girls program that we don't see in the boys program is players leaving before high school. I can count off the top of my head several great players that went to dekalb schools all the way until they got out of 8th grade and then they moved and went to another high school. It's because ours has had such a terrible reputation for so long. And quite frankly its true. If you don't wanna smoke marijuana or get pregnant it seems like you're just not the cool kid. As far as academics we are so far behind in that as well. We just now started trying to get some dual enrollment and AP classes going, but compared to most schools it's still laughable. I've heard so many parents at games say they are embarrassed that others have to come see our school and athletic facilities. Once again I can't disagree with them. We are just way behind the times. Truth sucks, but there it is. People just don't want their kids going here that are serious about their future. I can think of in just the last few years we had two girls that started at gordonsville, one that started at Sparta, one that started for Webb, and that's just off the top of my head in this last two or three years of 8th graders moving up to high school an leaving dekalb. Can you imagine softball if we could keep them here? We went to state last year. Add them and we have a shot a winning it all.
  16. I'm afraid this game will get out of hand. We can always hope, though. This has been such a roller coaster year for us. We had an incredible team in 2012 full of talented seniors. Graduated every starter we had in every single position except maybe one. Last year we were expecting to take a massive hit from that. We had a team of freshman and sophomores playing as starters including the QB and some WR's. We were very bleak leading up to the season, but something happened. We were actually pretty good. What was expected to be a down year turned out to be a playoff year to our surprise. We had a total of 3 seniors on the whole team. 3. So next year is going to be a great year, right? Well here we are in 2014. We find out during the off season we lost our best running back (very fast and shifty) and fill him in with our current rb. A strong downhill runner. He's good, but the home run play was definitely taken away. We also lost various players such as our starting wr/db. He just decided not to play for some reason. Who knows? Then suffered some season ending injuries to top it all off and here we are. Having a fight just to get into the playoffs season when we were truly hoping to look very solid this year. With that said, we are playing our best ball lately. It seems like our run game, and passing game have finally found a way to mesh. We do have a great sophomore qb in Jennings and a hard nosed runner in Boss. Our best wr just broke his ankle in the last game from what we are hearing. Best DL is probably getting surgery. Defense is playing great lately. They lack speed, though.
  17. Good luck to Blackman. I really hope to see the win tonight! Represent us well. Also, I'm very disappointed this isn't on tv. I was really looking forward to seeing it.
  18. Patterson: 4 catches for 96 yards, 1 td, 1 int, unknown number of tackles. I watched the whole post game show where stats are usually given and they didn't give anything this time. Patterson. Was player of the game and those were his stats. I do know Jennings had to have atleast 170 rushing an 3 touchdowns atleast rushing and 200 something passing.
  19. That last run was something I haven't seen out of him this year I will admit though. Man he just split through those defenders and took off. He hit the hole with a head of steam. And it was around the edge too.
  20. Final 38-25 DC. Will try to see how soon I can get stats.
  21. Jennings going to finish around 200 yard passing and 200 yards rushing.
  22. Nice run. Jennings squeezes through a hole and takes off for a 47 yard touchdown run.
  23. He is. And then the option.. That play is easy to sniff out this late in the game.
  24. Definitely! From passes and catches to turnovers to penalties. Just a weird game.
