  1. I'm not going to discuss any Tribe fans problem with reading comprehension. It seems a few of you are always expecting a combative attitude from others outside your tee-pee. Let me help you out here. This is intended as the highest praise of a high school coach who is grossly undervalued by a lot of your fan base (or at least a few outspoken ones). For waco , yes rivalry, through the first 10 , South won, actually won 4 of those, When Graham Clark took the reins of the program, Coach Smith welcomed him to Death Valley with a solid whipping, a game that was over early in the 3rd quarter. D-B fans left in droves that night before the 4th quarter started. And yes, I've seen South fans do this many times over in recent years at both stadiums. South has not beaten D-B since and I'm old enough to have seen them all. I believe Coach Clark, once he got things stabilized there made the Science Hill and South games target games. The program he would build would be top shelf but those two games would always carry more significance. He (and some of you so-called Tribe fans may deny that smugly) , but it's true. So yes , Graham Clark , destroyed the rivalry that had been to that point. He and his staff have done a great job coaching in these games with some impressive schemes, i.e. the Chris Sensabaugh sweep with the pulling lineman etc. He does a great job with that program.
  2. Graham Clark destroyed this rivalry.
  3. Catholic will be the bigger challenge I think Batman. This season anyway.
  4. C'mon bud. Tell us what you really think. Roll Tribe.
  5. Hopefully they can win the conference. I thought the Elizabethton game was their worst coaching performance of last season. I understand your point of view however. They do have a lot of talent returning.
  6. Sullivan South is a top 5 program this year with a very good chance to win it all. They lost very little to graduation from last year's team.
  7. Fulton by 28 in this one. Congrats to Catholic on a very good season. 4A football is going to be very good in ETn in coming years with Elizabethton, Sullivan South , and Catholic added to mix with Fulton and Greeneville. Those 5 will be top ten most years.
  8. Love a humble guy with a great sense of humor. You go Woodby. And before I forget, congrats on your son's fine season with the Cyclones.
  9. Congrats to the Rebels from Sullivan South.
  10. Sonny Moore had Catholic rated 20 points less than Greeneville and 2 less than South going into tonight's games. Should be a Falcon breeze as long as they stay focused.
  11. How did Greeneville compare to South?
  12. Funny on the broadcast: one guy, "well Greeneville's fans really travelled well"....uncontrolled , prolonged laughter by both, then the other says "yea at least they travelled well"...more laughter. Those guys ought to be a little more neutral if they're going to do the broadcasts.
  13. thanks HTV. I enjoyed getting to see this one.
  14. Great effort by the coaching staff and players from Sullivan South. This game could lay the foundation for a state championship bid next year. The Rebels return most of their team. The Falcon kick off team carried the day IMO. Coverage was smothering with South struggling to get beyond the 20. And the hard hit knocked #28 out the game on the 2nd half kick off. The Rebels couldn't pull off the upset without their fastest player leaving a void at RB and especially at CB in what was an outstanding defensive effort against the Falcons.
  15. Well the team that lost to Maryville 55-7 just beat the Toppers 63-20. Be thankful you're not going to the Black Hole next week. They might have put a Crockett score on you.
  16. Hey Photoman, do you think that poster is from Kingsport? He is not a South fan. Best I can tell he is from Pulaski, a Giles Co. fan. Please don't assume all these comments about academics are coming from South fans. Compusatman is the only one I recognize as such. You know a lot about Fulton football. Hopefully this thread can stay focused on these two teams football abilities, competitive spirit and good sportsmanship during and after the game. Sullivan South faculty and students sponsor a cross ministry. They normally hand out wooden cross necklaces with your team colors braided in the lanyard to the opposing team as agape gifts. Hopefully you will not pre-judge our school and community by the statements of one individual.
  17. You're right, we don't need to talk academics. I want to know about Fulton football. Falcon offense gets all the pub, but the D must be very good too, right? How did the Kentucky team put up all those points when no one else has been able to? Were they the best on your schedule this year? How many first downs has the defense given up this year? What would be a reasonable over/under betting line on first downs for South in this one? Thanks to any Falcon fan who would rather discuss the merits of an exceptional football team than waste time on other subjects.
  18. Congrats to the Hawkins kid on the OSU offer. I find that very impressive. I viewed his highlights yesterday coincidentally and understand why they offered. The Falcons are phenomenal on offense as evidenced by the season stats. I'm amazed that they've played 11 games, some against 6A teams, and only punted 5 times this season. I was only familiar with Cooperwood from past seasons and pre-season pub, but am also impressed by Penny's TD/Int ratio of 23/4. I'm guessing they just haven't needed to throw the ball much but could use that facet much more if needed.
  19. It will be interesting to see how South's coaching staff approaches this one. Speed or lack thereof will be a critical component of the game. Offensive playmakers who have been really good with speed and quickness are going to be less effective here. They would help much more on defense perhaps. Clock management, approach to the kicking game, and turning the Falcons aggressiveness and speed against them will all be important to making this one competitive. Good luck Rebels.
  20. He's still ticking according to the Science Hill Toppers. Good luck in your quest.
  21. Does Carter want a rematch with Fulton?
  22. When Coach Sivert yells "release the Kraken", Mavs would be wise to seek shelter.
