  1. Perry Co. has 2 really good players in Grimes and Qualls. They are always tough outs. They are deep at the pitchers position and should be a tough out in the tournament. They must limit their errors to be the top team. Cwood in drivers seat, but still a few bumps in the road ahead.
  2. Start another topic.....enough already!!
  3. Limiting turnovers, playing tough defense and rebounding will be the difference. Of course scoring more than your opponent won't hurt the effort either . Go Vikings: #beunstoppable
  4. McEwen in a rout. Nice draw Warriors. Friendship may have something though
  5. Just for the record. PC and McEwen are very evenly matched. It would be a dog fight. Tough match ups on both sides. I believe these 2 teams may have met in the Middle school championship 4 yrs. ago with Mcewen coming out on top.
  6. Yall should have had the officials at PC. Call absoutely nothing. Fouls or walks. Luckly PC got away with 5-6 walks for baskets. Then yoo never know what you will get at the State Tourney. Congrats on the big win. See yall at Murphy
  7. With this year's format(back to back to back nights), I think the team that has the most depth or is in the best condition will have the edge. BTW's athletism may win out though. I like the way Friendship is playing through the tournaments, Wartbug can't be counted out with a Mr.BB canidate, McEwen and PC are evenly matched and then there's good ole Lake Co. that knew how to take care of business last year. Good records for all teams with 2 good teams humbolt and Trinity that probably deserve to be there
  8. what's up with all this. Just someone from another jealous school trying to stir up trouble. These guys seem to all play well together. When one is down another picks up the pace. If we get the offense clicking, better watch out.
  9. Agree totally. This is why this should be done away with. PC always gets the shaft. I know if I had the first 3 picks, who I would choose and they would all be from PC, but hopefully they are all concerned with the big gold ball instead of a little man on a wooden base.
  10. Politics? Could someone please explain what politics went on. If we're talking just averages, I thought Rhodes deserved it last year, he did lead the district in scoring avg. If you want averages for this year, compare these: Tucker 17.5ppg; 5.2rpg Rhodes 17.1ppg; 7.8rpg Chard 15.3ppg; 5.8rpg Rhodes and Tucker both create a lot of scoring opportunities for each other and make great teammates. Tucker's defense this year has been suspect and Rhodes is a much better defender than anyone wants to give him credit for. Without Rhodes, Tucker gets doubled and is not as effective; without Tucker, the same holds true for Rhodes. Both are completely different players; one is finesse and the other is a bull. If this were a game of one on one, I would go with Tucker, but its a team sport. Can you folks just get off Rhodes and go on to something else. All 3 of these guys are class acts. We have heard your opinion for like the 4th time now. The Coaches have spoken but maybe they will agree to a "do over", in which Mathis from WC might get it.
  11. mainly from the negativity over these 2 MVP's. They just go out and play the game and the COACHES decide on the best player in the district. Coaches see things differently from us and make their decision based on that. I think everyone on here is pretty arrogrant by indirectly saying the coaches don't know what they are talking about.
  12. Peyton is a great kid. Where is he headed to play golf?
  13. Obviously you know much more than the coaches that these kids play against and have to formulate game plans to defend against. 2 well deserving young men. Congrats Jordan and Cannon. I do know that both these kids would trade an MVP for a championship anyday.
  14. Not even close this year. 14A. 12A actually stronger last year with PC, Summetown and Wayne Co all deserving at least a sub state birth. Luckly PC pulled out an upset and nobody could have beat Summertown playing in their condemed barn.
  15. Let me put this to rest. PC is NOT a top 5 team right now (even thought Tucker is a beast as of late) Haven't seen BTW or Middleton play, but fairly sure that LC beats PC by 15. LC guard play is too good for PC to control. Here's my thoughts right now: LC & BTW in a league of their own, then u can take your pick from there. Trinity, Westwood, Middletotn, Union City, McEwen, Mt.Pleasant, PC in no particular order. On any night anyone could win.
  16. We beat a very good Jackson Christian team with 3 guys over 6'4" without Tucker and with Gilboy on the bench most of the night in foul trouble. The new kid Churchwell came in and played very well. Gilboy wasnt much of a factor last night, but expect him to have some big games. Edney very long and gives people trouble with his defense and can also shoot it. Hill, Rhodes and Dill will be role players behind Tucker and Gilboy. We should go 8-9 deep this year.
  17. Lord, I hope yall don't get much faster..lol(you'll have to get a high speed camera). Will those guys play football next year? Can't believe some of those teams are moving down to class A. Just don't seem right, but we'll take them on too. What a great year being able to watch these guys compete in both football and basketball. At one point, I couldnt tell where football left off and basketball started. Just think when we all started talking smack in FB, we didnt realize that it would carry over to BB A great entire sports year for both teams. Hope we can repeat next year. Enjoy the Championship, I know it means a great deal to the community.
  18. The main thing I noticed, especially after going back and watching the replay, was the charging calls. Somethng has to be done about the charging calls. Time and again, players are falling before contact, and at the last second sliding over in front of the driver is out of hand. Protection needs to be for the offense. Defensive techniques (hand checking, holding, bumping) has nearly ruined the game. Give the advantage back to the offense. People like to see points on the board not a hockey match.
  19. Congratulation to Lake Co. on the championship from Perry Co. Who would have thought in the football playoffs that we would both be there in Basketball too. Yall should be the favorites next year.
  20. Wondering who are some of the top returning players for next year: At the state this week were the following: Lake Co.: Coleman, Swift, Tyler(Mr.BB candidate), Jones, Boyd (they're loaded again) Perry Co.: Rhodes, Tucker, Hill Summertown: Chard Who are some others around the state that will make an impact?
  21. Hey Moron...don't know why you're on here bashing PC, but on any given night, any of these teams could have beaten the other. Lake Co. won and congratulations to them, but if they laced it up next week, I bet it would be a totally different outcome. Quit your bashing just becacuse the Vols got humiliated yesterday. Just for your information, PC split with LC this year and that loss was without a starter. Keep talking because you are really looking like a FOOL.
  22. Final Rankings: For teams at tournament only 1. Lake Co. (got on a roll at the right time and possibly could win next year also)(if their ptgard is ok) 2. CSAS (maybe the best team..wasn't prepared for the opening round against LC.) 3. Middleton (good defensively) 4. Perry Co. (got caught on a poor shooting night or would be in finals. Only loose 1 starter next yr.) 4. Hampton (really good team that had an off day against Lake Co.) 6. Summertown (suffered through a poor shooting performance in opening game) 7. Cloudland (very solid team and high Basketball IQ 8. Clay Co. (good team but just not the caliber of the others) Of course I'm leaving out Humbolt, Union City, Memphis Westwood, Clarksville Acad., McEwen that failed to make it. Then give it another a week and you could come up with something different.
  23. How bout dem Vols today!!! Middleton very lucky that PC had off shooting night, but that's how it goes; Nobody said they were unbeatable anyway.
  24. Hudson, Rhodes....then Slatten. Slatten had the privilege of having good talent around him. Good coach but not in the class of the first two.
