  1. Here is a great article from Newberry's website. Blake was dominating! He has had a great year and has been ranked as high as 2nd in the nation. I am headed down to Birmingham to watch him. Hopefully he can bring back some hardware and All-American Status. http://newberrywolves.com/article.asp?articleID=6840
  2. I have to throw our name out there as well. Maryville has 8 qualifiers coming back and 1 5th place medalist. (Solomon 160 - 9th grade)

  4. Yes Maryville 39- Heritage 30 Very tough match up that came down to the last matchnof the evening.
  5. Satterfield pinned Baldree. Logan was pretty dominant against Talley, it was 11-0. He has really came on since Bradley. His only losses in the state are to Biggs(Mt. Juliet) and Jones(Ooltewah).
  6. Does anyone have the individual results for this tournament this past weekend, or a link to them? I can tell you the top 6 teams.(I think)I know where Maryville placers were but did not get the whole brackets. 1. Pleasant Point WV 2. Bob Jones AL 3. Cabell Midland WV 4. Johnson Central KY 5. Maryville 6. Gibbs On a side note Point Pleasant is pretty dang good.
  7. Help me out here boys, do you drop straight down from the top into the same place in the consolations or do they cross at some point? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I am not sure how it happened but from a Blount County point of view it kind of stinks. We basically have to try to wrestle everyone in two different regions. We try to wrestle everyone from Region 3 individuals for seeding purposes and Region tournament. We also have to wrestle all of the Dual meet teams in our region to decide that. It kind of makes it tough on kids and parents trying to keep up with the mess. I know I have explained it at least 11 million times. While we don't mind wrestling anybody, most Knoxville schools are within 20-30 minutes of Blount County, but the McMinn, Cleveland, Chattanooga area schools are all mostly 1 hour or more. Needless to say that makes it hard on wrestlers and wrestler parents. I also agree that the teams need to be in the same dual and individual region. I do think whoever decides it might want to invest in a good quality map!

  10. A very close match between the top 2 teams in Region 3 duals. Luke Hall still looks like a beast!
  11. A quick update on a couple of good matches this week. Tyler Wilson of Maryville pinned Jones of Cleveland at 215. Wilson then lost to Simpson of Walker Valley 7-5 in a close match.
  12. Blake suprised some people in the wrestle-offs. He beat a couple of highly touted freshman to win the Varsity spot. He wrestled in the Va. Tech open. He won his first match and was up on a returning NCAA qualifier but injured his ankle. He has not been able to wrestle since and will probably end up red-shirting. We are all expecting big things from him in the years to come!
  13. You are exactly right on with both scores. Ridnour over Bishop in the finals. The semifinal was probably the best match of the tourney. Here is the results. http://www.tricitiessports.com/default.asp...rts&he=.com
