  1. D-Line woule be their strong point on Defense, but not dominating at all. Of course the LB's are athletic, they're converted DB's!!! In HS football, anything is possible. I won't say they can't be 8-2, or 9-1. I'm staying with 7-3, with 8-2 possible with a win over Kingston, Grace, or Greenback. If the secondary has to make a large amount of tackles, it will be a long year on "D"
  2. Not near the talent that was there in 2010. I see them at 7-3, with losses coming to Kingston, Grace, and Greenback. Have a chance to be 8-2 if they can steal one of those 3. I think the offense has the potential to be the strongest asset. Question is will the Defense hold up over the course of a season?? Very inexperienced in the defensive backfield. Got some LB's that should be playing DB and some DB's that haven't seen the field very much. Part of that is due to injury.
  3. I think Rockwood will win this one. But it won't be by 14. Still very young and inexperienced in several positions. This one could go either way. First games always come down to which team can come out and execute, while limiting huge mistakes. Also may come down to which team is better conditioned, as both teams starters have yet to play a 4 quarter game.
  4. They are reporting 301 students on their website for this past school year. With the multiplier, that puts them at 542. This number should be more considering they have gained students every year since opening.............but then when you consider the source, who knows? This number should get them into AA in all sports, possibly AAA in football......depending on where the numbers fall. Going by their past reputation: Will they report actual enrollment??? Or will they fudge the numbers to make sure they stay where they're at??
  5. So what if your membership is $1000??? At $8 a pop, doesn't take long to make up for the membership fee. Let's say you host a play-off game that has 1000 people in attendance. Let's say T$$AA takes a 25% share($2000). Then both schools involved get $3000. That's for ONE game. So a once a year membership fee of $1000 is not a big deal. Stop acting like T$$AA is doing us a favor by taking half of our money.
  6. These are the percentages of final gate receipts given back to the state associations for a HS play-off game. Georgia 12% Florida 25% South Carolina 20% North Carolina 25% Kentucky 0% Virginia 35% Louisiana 10% TENNESEE AND T$$AA--50% I understand that it takes money to run an organization, but why can all of these states operate with those percentages and TN is the highest by far??? This is why TSSAA is accused of being a money hungary organization. The numbers speak for themselves.
  7. So no judgement after 4 years?? I wasn't aware that was the grace period?? So, in 4 years will Jerry Sandusky(Penn St) not be a pedophile?? Get a clue.
  8. Be careful children. You might get your name written on the board. Or maybe a timeout. GTFOH
  9. Oneida over OS 35-24 FC over Boyd 31-14 Adamsville over Riverside 28-17 Dresden over Westwood 27-6
  10. In addition, other non-monetary disciplinary action will occur. So, what exactly does this part of the rule mean??? No Popsicle after the game???
  11. Section 8. Substitutes Leaving Bench Area in an Incident or Fans Coming Onto the Field or Floor A. The school will be required to submit a report and video tape if available. All schools are instructed to inform individuals taping to continue taping all incidents. B. For substitutes leaving the bench area in an incident or fans coming onto the field or floor, the school will be fined a minimum of $250.00. In addition, other non-monetary disciplinary action will occur. CF may have trouble fielding a team if what they say is true about half the team leaving the bench.
  12. As usual two things happen at this time of year: 1--Hampton's season is done, because they finally played a team with a pulse. and 2--Pujo goes into hiding. #1 usually has a lot to do with #2
  13. So did your team, for 3 and half quarters anyway. Hater1 in the lead!!!
  14. Round 2 Oneida over Hampton 21-14 Oliver Springs over North Greene 34-14 Trousdale over FCS 21-7 Boyd over Rockwood 42-6 Adamsville over Cascade 23-7 Forrest over Riverside 24-20 Dresden over Humboldt 20-14 BTW over Westwood 21-6
  15. Oneida over Cosby 27-6 Oliver Springs over Wartburg 26-6 FC over Jackson Co 35-6 Rockwood over Watertown 20-7 Cascade over Loretto 35-13 Forrest over Houston Co 31-7 Dresden over McKenzie 21-20 BTW over Peabody 21-7
  16. Watched the OZ-SB game on channel 12 last week. OZ did not show up at all. Lacked intensity and focus. Looked very disinterested. I doubt the black jerseys reappear at all for a long time in OZ....not that it was the reason. Earlier in the year this would have been an easy pick. On paper OZ should score as many as they want to. But as we know, games aren't played with roster sheets. OZ is clearly a better team personel wise. But they have a lot to work out after last weeks debacle. All depends on which OZ team shows up. They could win by 20 or lose by 20. Big time crossroad for that team. Prolly on the verge of losing those 20 seniors mentally. BTW just as a casual observer, and in no way questioning what they are doing.....but how many coaches do they have at OZ right now??? Saw an awful lot of adults on the sidelines on channel 12 last Friday.
  17. Gameday. About 3 hours from now. Pumped about a meaningful game that could determine either team's destiny from here on out. Prediction time Rockwood grounds plenty of yards and clock. Keeps the Greenback potent offense on the sidelines. I believe the Depth of the Tigers eventually takes over and is just too much for the Kees to handle Turnovers and Inability to make any big plays will be why GB comes up short. Although I believe they will make a good run come playoff time. GB 17 RW 21
  18. This one just keeps building. Both teams seem healthy. Both coming in with a lot on the line. Love this time of year. My prediction to come later.
  19. Well said!!! That is one of the biggest problems fans/parents have with understanding expectations. "One Year Older" doesn't necessarily mean "One Year Better"!!! True Example: I was in Barber Shop X talking about Team Y on the upcoming season. I made a comment on OFF Line play and how they struggled the year before. Local Barber Shop Idiot Reply--"Well we won't have that excuse this year!!" My Reply--"Why do you say that?" Idiot--"We got everybody back on the O-Line!!" So because a kid is one year older, he all of a sudden becomes a better offensive lineman??? So if you have an 11th Grade RB that runs a 4.6 40.........By the time he's in the 12 grade, he's a 4.4 right??? GTFOH............Outta those 22 Seniors there may be 12 Sluggs that just keep hangning around. The age of your players has nothing to do with the equation. May help with leadership and team chemistry, but execution doesn't get better with age. By the time you are a Senior, most kids fall into 2 categories in all sports: 1--You are what you are. Pretty much the same kid you had last year as a Junior--little more polished. 2--You are worse than you were. Stopped working hard, thought they had it all figured out. Figures out they aren't gonna be the starting LB at UT next year. Ready to move on to greener patures, or just plain don't care anymore.
  20. This will be a huge game for both teams. For OZ--a chance to right some wrongs and give this team the confidence it needs entering into the play-offs. Could be the game that gets them over the hump and could possibly win out. Maybe could bury some of the nay-sayers and get a few more on board. For Oneida--a chance to keep things on a roll and start to jockey for position for the play-offs. Put themselves in position to Host instead of ride in the post-season. It's never easy to win at Oneida. Great venue for Friday night lights. Oneida consistency just too much in the end for the Bobcats. Indians--34 Bobcats--24
  21. This one is hard to call. GB coming off a shellacking from GCA, RW kinda on a roll right now with 3 wins in a row. The winner of this one could quite possibly lock up a chance to Host a play-off game, provided they take care of business for the last 2 weeks. GB is a two man show.....No secrets. Good athlete at QB in Goodson, and a heck of a RB with Seymour. So I'm sure these two kids are going to be hard for RW to totally shut down, but maybe they can contain and prevent the big play. RW has spread their carries out to quite a few FB's and other RB's. Not much of a throwing team. Gonna line up and bust you in the mouth. RW has an advantage right off the bat playing this one at home. RW will have to chew as much clock as possible, keep GB offense off the field and prevent the big play. Key--Secondary play and Clock control GB will have to be able to get penetration and try to control the line of scrimmage against the tigers to have a chance of stopping the running attack. DL Play and Get large chunks on OFF Too early to make a prediction. Looking forward to cool, crisp, Friday Night Football.
  22. This one will be as ugly as the Tigers want it to be. Devils with a ton of injuries, young, and not much talent. Bad combination. Tigers will run it, run it, and run it some more in this one. I look for a running clock by the 3rd qter. Tigers-48 Devils-6 Next week could be the last chance for the Devils to get a win. They finish with a brutal schedule.
