  1. It was an interesting weekend...Baylor beats Soddy in the pool, Soddy beats Baylor, GPS and Ooltewah when it counts. I still think Soddy may have a tough time on the road to the 'boro unless they can find their sticks...Nunley can't be perfect all the time, can she? Central beat East Ham but struggled Friday night losing to Meigs and Dickson. Perhaps just an off night, but the road to 'boro will likely include a rematch with Meigs at some point. Hard not to see Baylor cruising home with a title in their division. It is a shame not to see them play through AAA...Great line-up top to bottom.
  2. Couple of interesting scores in TFP from yesterday... Grace 3 Central 0 East Ham 9 GPS 5 And Monday Ooltewah had to rally in the 7th to beat Hixson 5-4... Have not seen much from Walker Valley recently...
  3. Soddy's offense is not what it was the last few year, too. Be interesting to see how Central holds up...they have 10 rostered players. As for the silly comment, lets face it...when Willard moves on they will not have much left...brag all you want but when you are blessed with a stud pitcher, things generally go well...See how the talk goes next year.
  4. Little birdie flying over Nashville saw East Ham put the wood to Ooltewah before the rains came in...after beating Silverdale on Thursday perhaps the dark horse is no longer a longshot in AA...
  5. Crownover is one of the best and GPS is always formidable....good luck to you!
  6. Okay...good luck...that's why they play them on the field!
  7. AAA and AA are all about the two pitchers....Nunley and Willard. Hard to go against Soddy in AAA. East Hamilton will have an outstanding offensive team and finally a real coach but there is no shut down pitcher so it seems Central will have the upper hand again. As Indian said, there does not seem to be anything else in the city that can keep up. Meigs will probably be the other AA team in SE TN that has a chance to go to the Boro. A will be up for grabs now that Walker has moved on. Silverdale may finally have a chance to do something this year though Grace certainly still has some great players. Baylor should be the favorite again amongst the private schools to win it all this year.
  8. Pretty sure most teams across California know the Fury 95 and what they can do...Top 10 last year at Nationals and gave the Southern Force from "Georgia" everything they wanted in Colorado a couple of weeks ago...add to that the Mustangs have beaten the Fury a couple of times and you have two teams that could do very well here at home in just over a week. As in contend, if the brackets don't trip them up early...Good Luck to all playing!
  9. She was for the area outside the city....Lacye Walker won Player of the Year for the city....
  10. Central took care of business last night...so much for the Dark Horse...also a blurb from the Central Coach that Willard will be back in time for 6AA tournament and points beyond...
  11. 200 ft (and some parks are 10-20 feet short of that) is not very far given the strength training, hitting lessons and advanced bats these girls are using/getting these days...
  12. So Soddy is not the clear cut favorite like last year...even though they have lost to Ooltewah, my money is still on them in the region tournament (whatever the first round is called these days)...I would still give them the #1 ranking sicne there will be a definitive winner...although were it college football, Ooletwah would own the #1 ranking IMO in the area....really the three are tightly clumped (including Grace). After that I would make Baylor and Walker Valley in a group then comes Central followed by GPS and Silverdale...the next grouping is interesting...The Dark Horse gets Central Thursday for the 6AA lead...they clubbed East Ridge last night according to the TFP...If Willard were not out for the year, it would prolly not be an issue...If they win that game then they might be at the top of the heap of the CSAS, Boyd and the rest heap...Hard to figure Silverdale who was dismantled by Grace last night...
  13. So after a couple of weeks, it looks like... 1. Soddy 2. Grace 2. Central 2. Baylor 5. Ooltewah 6. Walker Valley 7. CSAS 8. GPS Lump those three together for now at #2...I think the jury is still out on who is the best of the group. No word on Indian's Dark Horse yet...Silverdale looks like they will not give Grace a hard time at this point but I am sure they will come around by May. Looks like Bledsoe, Marion and Sequatchie are fairly evenly matched on the outer rim...Have not seen anything from Meigs yet...
  14. Baylor beat Central 3-1 last night according to TFP...looks like a 7th inning meltdown by Central judging by the boxscore...they have very limited experience at state compared to other programs....Can they? Sure, but I would say of the four (Baylor looks strong to win DII) AA is the weakest link for a Chattanooga sweep...
  15. Indian??? It's about that time! Anyone even close to Soddy? Is this the year Baylor gets past GPS? Can Grace win it all this year...does Silverdale pose any threat? Central still undisputed AA leader in Chatt? How are things looking on the outer rim....Meigs, Sequatchie, Bledsoe...new coach at Walker Valley... My initial stab...No outer rim teams as I do not know them well enough... 1. Soddy 2. Grace 3. Central 4. Baylor 5. GPS 6. Silverdale 7-10. unknown for now...
  16. Both Fury 95 and Fury 96 still in the winner's bracket in Moline....Good Luck!!! Everyone else is on the way home.
  17. No Worth 95, Valley Thunder, Easton or Diamonds....what gives? Is the deadline to sign up passed?
  18. All ribbing and jabbing aside, Fury 96 has quite a team...not even in the same league as any of the 14s out there this weekend. They could probably beat all but the top 5 or so 16Us that were out there ...I hope you do very well in Moline...
  19. If the young ladies are tired why not organize a friendly or take a week off? There is still TN State ASA coming up. It is going to be tough on Valley Thunder who missed a berth by the skin of their teeth last week to have to play Mizuno who does not seem to have interest in going to Moline, and, if winning that, then play the best team in the southeast who already has a berth...it is what it is I suppose....
  20. So, TNSoftball...since you appear to be part of the collective...Why is Fury 96 playing in the qualifier this weekend having already secured a berth?
  21. You must have missed the Valley Thunder losing their first two games (one ugly) to have them so high up...Everything under the Fury teams looks to be a complete toss up...And whatever happened to the White Lightning 95?
