  1. Well Franklin is the kind of school who can immediatly rebuild talent during an offseason at least on the offensive and deffensive lines. Clayton is one heck of a coach. Plus about BGA, Blackman and Indy handled them in scrimmages so dont choke!
  2. Good point, many fans do that with their team. Also the other way as well, when your team scrimmages a less than stellar young team, they think they are going to have a great year. But i agree with the Rebels fans, they do have a problem with their 'young' qb. Other teams in district have some big players and great defenses like HL. So if he seems scared at this point wait till district play or when they go to Kentucky (them 'corn-fed' boys), then he'll do more than panic. If i was the Franklin's head coach do the opposite of what Indy did last year, run the ball 90% with those vertern rb's.
  3. "As they proved last year, Great Defense > Great Offense every single time." So true Defense wins championships; a great defense can stop the other team from scoring, give your offense better field position, plus a great D could rack some TD's as well. Of course Oakland doesnt have the talent on offense like last year but deffense is doing pretty well this offseason. Prediction: Oakland will lose two regular season games then run into a team with both a great offense and defense in either 3rd round or semi-finals and lose. Or maybe the regular season will give them enough time to clean up the offense and look to defend their title at TTU. As for Blackman they could do very well this season but all the teams is district 7 are promising and a couple of good teams are going to suffer untill they become great. Give Blackman one or two years with this Head Coach they will turn it around.
  4. BGA isnt really know for having great football teams lately, last year was a great year for them but its surely a rebuilding year for them. Gallatin is usually know for having not having the greatest pass defense, they are good but their defense isnt as good as the other teams in Blackman's district. Now i do think they have a great chance of getting that third playoff berth in the district between Riverdale and siegel, all three of the teams look impressive and to turn some head this year. If they get two wins against these teams in the district; Riverdale, Symrna, and siegel and have a great non-district record they are a shoe in. Or maybe you think they look very impressive because your name is "blackmanfootball23'? time will tell.
  5. Im telling ya now the make or break decision is who Eubanks picks to start at tailback, still dont have a forsure guy. He has already figured out his guys for linebackers thanks to bennett and Eubanks will probably have his decision on starting rb after the last scrimmage against Dickson Co. prob who over has the most quality carries or playing time will win it. Plus the bigmen arent just seniors the taller OL/DL's are juniors Drew Kelley # 77 (who i heard gave up basketball to go all out for football) and Jerome Powell #55 (Has recieved letters from Notre Dame) Saw from the Franklin fourm that Franklin had a hard time stopping the option run... Interesting
  6. Real good confidence booster for the Bobcats to stay with Brentwoods 1st string. Good luck to Overton this year.
  7. How did the Eagles do against Station Camp today?
  8. Wow ensworth and oakland are 50% all. But seeing what happened at BA vs. Oakland i think Ensworth will pull it out. Plus two teams that are both looking make a comeback in their respective districts, siegel and Independence square off in week zero. siegel strong point looks to be their offense with Howse at running back and Gooch at wr, but Independence as an exprienced d-line and secondary, could be a great match-up.
  9. Yea if you can tell by they pictures vs. Page on their fan page on facebook they have 3 different rb's switching out on 1st string; #23 senior Roland Sheilds (Reminds me of Javon Ringer short but built), #29 senior Brett Meeker (Also switches out on starting LB rotation), and someone else who might be a sophomore or junior. Both Meeker and Sheilds have been playing JV level since their freshmen year, no varsity exprience in running back, Meeker has played a some linebacker on varsity last year. Who knows, maybe they'll switch out during the whole year, Sheilds is fast, Meeker can take hits. Other than the running back position much different from last years scrimmage vs. Page
  10. True, but Ford reminds me of a Scott Pettigrew player that could play LB in college as he did, and i see Lee getting more carries this year because he is so quick and elusive to compete fast defenses like Hillsboro and Centennial. Plus Ford had a better line up front last year.
  11. They scrimmaged Page Monday morning. They scrimmage Station Camp at Indy on the 7th, at BGA on the 11th and Dickson County at Indy on the 14th. They start around 6. How did the Page scrimmage go? I heard there were fights.
  12. The BGA matchup will just be who is the most talented; returning starters for franklin (on offense) are the two running backs (Ford & Lee) and the highly recruited offensive lineman (Forgot his name), am i correct?
  13. Tony Rowland from Ravenwood should be getting letters from multiple schools. RB who has been starting since his sophomore year, he is in great shape by running track and i believe he rushed well over 1,000 yards last year.
  14. It was better than the AD Indy all ready had, 'coach' Jones former AD, was only there a year. And dont know if he even did anything besides stand at the sides of students who were signing their letters of intent to colleges. Jones just was there and waited for a higher job to open up and he got lucky, promoted to an assistant principle. If Dyson wants to build his resume he should stay there for at least 4 years. Dyson wanted the job and he got it.
  15. Also two questions on coaching staff; on Indys football site it said Kevin Dyson is also the new AD? Plus whatever happened to the former coach from page becoming an indy d-cord? Jackie something? Bennett? Well he isnt on the coaching staff list.
  16. Plus other key points; Hillsboro hired coach moreno more than half way through summer workouts, the defense will transition from 4-4 to 4-3, and in a Tennessean article one of their best returning players DB Aaron Bryant, hasnt been to summer workouts, 7 v. 7's, or to the first week of practice because of an undisclosed non-football injury. Im going to go out on a limb; Oakland? Sure the Patriots won the state title last year; with a good run stopping defense, and good running attack on offense. But couple things im worried about; new quarterback with a new styled offense, HC said they havent done any 7 v. 7 tournaments, and prior to last season Oakland had 5 consecutive losing seasons. So will the Oakland Patriots be all hype?
  17. Yes Indy did very well in 7 v. 7 placing 6th in vandy out of 32 teams, but i also agree that wont translate to winning real games. As for running backs they have multiple players at the running back and fullback position. No clear cut starter at running back for now. Some new offensive formations using running triple-options with a fullback or sometimes a slot reciever. Their inexpirence in the backfield could lead to the Eagles downfall. The defense could be better than most people think. The defensive secondary is skilled, fast, has great recognition that can make up for linebacker mistakes, and could be the best in the district. As for the qb position; #1 Heckman and #2 Thompson, of course. About Adam Thompson, yes very skilled, but reminds me of a former Indy quarterback; Zac Cordell. Thompson has an attitude, thinks he is all that sort of guy and gets on coaches nerves sometimes (I've heard this from multiple Indy players). No doubt he can lead an offense for his Junior and Senior years, but if his attitude distracts him from concentrating this year, meaning he should be watching flim and learning from Heckman, then he'll struggle his two years of, possibly, starting. No offense to him but thats what he needs to do for his future.
  18. I hope we look better in pads than we have in these 7 on 7 passing scrimmages. Better, well that would be really good considering what Indy did acomplish at the Vandy 7 v. 7 touranment. Finished 6th out of 32 teams, defeated Union City, Trinity Chr., Franklin County, Ravenwood, Hillsboro, MBA (played eachother twice, tied first time), Whitehaven, also tied a team from Arkansas (Do not know if the team out of AR. was the same Har-Ber team that won last year), and got knocked out by a very good team out of South Carolina. So i say the guys know the the system pretty well, now the only thing is to see if the lines up front can prepare and get ready for the season.
  19. Wow good point. Indy first went 1-2 but beat Whitehaven, and barley losing to MBA. Then went 3-0 in pool play.
  20. Let me guess hes number 56? Good luck to all in Vandy to day, every year this has been getting bigger and has more scouts watching.
  21. Lol You just had to imply that /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
