First, let me say that I'm not from Hampton. I am from Carter Co so I was absolutely pulling for the Bulldogs. Secondly, I'd like to congratulate MC on the win. IMO the best team won tonight. The game would have been much closer if Jones was not injured early and if the lost fumbles had been converted into TDs. But MC would still likely have won by at least a couple TDs in the end. On the subject of the onside kick, the officials botched the play totally (BTW, I thought the game was well officiated overall). The ball was touched by a MC player and subsequently recovered by Hampton. MC was awarded the ball for some reason. If the ruling was illegal touching by the kicking team before the ball traveled 10 yards, then why no penalty flag? The official's spot of ball made no sense either. Listening to the radio interview of Hampton's coach after the game the referee would not offer an explanation, but rather just said it was MC ball.

I'll bite. Elizabethton Lady Cyclones finished the 2015 camp season today undefeated (19-0 I think). They beat some good teams this week (Blackman, Wilson Central, Upperman, Clarkrange to name a few). They got wins over Knox Bearden, Mo West, Jeff Co., S. Greene and some out-of-state teams in earlier camp games.

I will probably jinx them but the EHS Lady Cyclones have looked impressive so far going 15-0 for the summer with wins over Bearden, M. West and Blackman so far.

Brentwood played lights out. Hamilton had too many horses in the end. Day definitely got out coached big time.

To be honest, I was worried going into the state tournament. Etown peaked too early. They played the best two games of the year on back to back nights against tough competition in SC. Since that time they have not played a complete game. They had some good quarters and even good halves, but not an entire game. Regardless of records, the teams that make it to state are more often than not legit. You have to be on your game to win. Etown was not on their game. Some of that was due to the competition and some of it was the team was just not in a good rhythm. MLK was in a rhythm and won. Hats off to them. They were definitely the best team this week.

If you go by scores then Elizabethton should have beaten MLK (Westmoreland beat MLK, Grainger beat Westmoreland and Etown thumped Grainger in the Regional final). At this point it's more about match ups and how teams are playing. MLK made Cannon and Etown looking average. I don't have a dog in the hunt at this point but the odds are with MLK in my opinion...

I know little about either team other than the two games I saw them play at the Boro. It's tough to predict these games by simply watching them play different teams. But I think the only way McMinn Central wins is if Majors somehow has an off game. MC struggled to rebound against Grainger and MLK's bigs are much better rebounders. MC will have to have a huge game, be very effective in the press and hope that MLK misses shots and FTs. Just my thoughts...

As I said in a previous post, for any fan from Greene County to criticize another school's fans is the epitome of hypocrisy! There were many dynamics involved that night and it was not just Etown fans harassing poor innocent Grainger players. The picture you are trying to paint is absolutely slanted, but I would expect nothing less...

Kinda ironic because Bishop England was by far the weakest of the 3 teams we played in SC. I saw where Hoover lost in the AL 7A regional finals and North Forsyth lost in the GA 6A elite 8.

No offense taken - you bring up a legitimate question. I would agree we have not played a lot of athletic teams but I doubt Haywood or Craigmont are more athletic than Hoover, AL. We probably played our best game of the season against Hoover and beat them by 26. But first things first - we have to win tomorrow first.

I don't know anything about D2-A but I'd say both South Greene and Hampton have a good shot to make the glass house.

This should be a very good game. I don't usually make predictions on these games, but I'm picking EHS by 15. I'm thinking the Lady Cyclones will wear the Lady Grizzlies down in the second half (or at least I hope so). Go Clones!

As usual the competition gets tougher the farther you advance. I haven't seen C-D play but I know they have a quality team. If the Lady Cyclones play up to par, I'm confident they can handle them.

Should be a good game. I haven't seen Grainger play but Greeneville played Elizabethton the closest game this year. They split during the regular season. I give Greeneville a slight edge simply because they played Sullivan East during the first round of the Regional so they have a game's worth of familiarity at the venue. Should be a good game.

Seemingly everyone but you agrees the decision to throw the game was a bad choice. The point you appear to be missing is that in life there are many times consequences for one's actions even if a rule or law was not technically broken. This is one of those instances in my opinion. The coach or coaches need to own the mistake by acknowledging it, apologize and learn from it moving forward. By the way, I have no horse in the race or axe to grind with either team.

Just like in other life situations, there are often consequences for bad choices. This should be the case here regardless if a rule was broken or not.

Might as well tell Obama...nothing will be done.

Wouldn't it be poetic justice for Riverdale to lose in the first round of the Regional. If not, they will likely have to face Oakland in the semis.

Good luck to the Lady Cyclones today in their quest for the district championship. Hopefully, the layoff for weather won't cause them to be rusty.

The current schedule is for Friday. Girls play at 4 and boys play at 5:30 in the District championship games.

Congrats to Kayla Marosites on her nomination for Miss Basketball in AA...well deserved. I hope the Lady Cyclones can win it all and you take home this honor as well!
