Congratulations to the Walker Valley Lady Mustangs for winning the district Championship in a hard fought win over Rival McMinn Central! Now you have to do it again next week. I am sure they will be prepared- reminds me of a quote i once heard.................................................................. The will to WIN is important, but the will to PREPARE is VITAL! So with all this said- "BE PREPARED!"

I was just answering THIS question when I posted- I didn't know he ONLY meant contenders from Middle Tennessee, I thought he meant for a state title!................The Thread title said Middle Tennessee, but then the first post just said "who are the best 3200m guys in Tennessee.............it didn't specify where. Sorry.............I didnt realize it was a big deal.

Not so fast- You got past BCHS once but I doubt it happening again! I say it will be Cleveland and BCHS in the region finals!

Against teams with a mismatch in the post play- she does get the ball- ALOT- her 34 pts against McMinn Central prove that! Walker Valley has alot of quickness, and getting down the floor quickly might be an issue as to why the 3 is shot so often. Morris can play with the best of them- WHEN SHE WANTS to! Cox is also a terrific post player- she doesn't have the height that Morris has but she can get off the floor on those rebounds, which are just as crucial as any points- Butler and Burrell and Tucker are good enough 3 pt shooters to shoot it when the post play is matched up. Walker Valley is getting stronger each year and only loses 1 senior this year, so this year as well as next should be an interesting and exciting year for the Lady Mustangs! Alyson Butler(5'10 point gaurd-lefty- excellent shooter), Oasha Parks(great defense) and Ashton Burrell from Walker Valley!

Cleveland has been playing unbelievably well since Christmas- at Walker Valley they regained a 13 pt spread in about 2 minutes, that shows alot of heart- but what scares me is that a team could have them 23-10 so easliy at the end of the first???? I guess all that matters is they came back and got the win- just hope whatever happened in the first quarter in that game doesn't happen in a crucial region or sub-state game- it might not be so easy to get it back so quickly!

Do you know his best 1600 and 800 times?

What events do you think Longstreth will run? Just the 3200 or the 1600 and 800 also? Is he just a Junior? I was thinking a Senior?

What region are you referring to? In region 3(isn't it?) I'd say Billingsley(Mcminn) and McCool(rhea) are the favorites in AAA in the 1600. Favorites inthe 800 would be, again Billingsley and McCool with Drainer(MCminn) and Staggs(BC) making the "bigboys" watch their backs- and Possibly Kirchem(CHS)! Im not sure about Buckley, and how he is doing healthwise???? Or he could be a threat in any event! Thompson form BC looks very strong in the 100m, Long Jump, and Triple Jump! Lowe(BC) in the 100m hurdles! AA- Look for Howarter(WVHS),Longstreth(CSAS) and Whittier(CCS) in the 3200, Whittier and Morgan(WVHS), possibly Longstreth again in the 1600. Sharpe(WVHS) is working hard on the 400m. AA GIRLS- McCamis(WVHS) is looking real strong in the 3200, and 1600 of course Wood(WVHS) is always a competitor in the 100m hurdles, long and tripe jumps!Chattanooga Chrisitan always some great girl distance runners! Well, thats just to get things started!

Congratulations CMS! Like I said- What do I know? Im just glad the winners were from Bradley Co./Cleveland, Tennessee!

To my understanding- You don't have to beat anybody to get into the "games, tournament" whatever you wanna call it. Whoever wants to go just goes, could be anybody- but of course once you are there, you have to keep winning to stay! So, State Championship it is not, but a well deserved honor- IT IS! ( I think)- I might be totally wrong!
