  1. In the 14's 1. Fury 94 (qualified) 2. Fury 95 3. Xplosion 4. Chatt. Force (qualified) 5. Lady Aces/Cruisers (if memory serves me correctly) The 16's were at Warner, so I'm not sure how many teams were there.
  2. im pretty sure the Fury 94 got the win this weekend, beating the Fury 95 twice in the championship. Both teams played well all weekend. So that would be The Chattanooga Force and Fury 94 with 2 of the 4 14U berths so far.
  3. I think most folks, including myself, would feel honored just be considered in the "OTHERS" with that group listed.
  4. STLBRD was right, the claws have come out! How is this poll biased? My suggestion would be that all the mama's and daddy's start their own poll and list their kids so they can vote for them. I bet Connell appreciates your support for her play and nomination in this poll. Indian's intention was to get a good sample of the best players in the state. Im sure he could have listed 200 names if he had wanted, but the list he provided was a fair sample of the best players. and OTHER is where you vote for your child.
  5. Why in the world would anyone care that this thread got started! Just vote or get off it. Like any other thread here, its just opinion! Thats all it is asking for!
  6. Seriously, enough with the Coffee County stuff. They had a great year and lets leave it at that.
  7. Good luck to Chattanooga Christian from Sequatchie County! My advice to anyone playing Goodpasture, don't give the shortstop anything to hit!
  8. Sequatchie County 5 Meigs County 2 I believe Chattanooga Christian beat Sweetwater
  9. My mistake, I hope you're right, it would be nice to only have to face Dickerson for one more year! Also, Chasity is a good player. She has an abundance of natural talent, is a hard worker and a fine young lady. You guys have some pretty good sophmores down your way too. They played well this week.
  10. You're right Indian, This question has an answer, but who'll be dumb enough to answer it!
  11. I would like to submit Grundy County's pitcher, her last name is Dickerson. I've seen her pitch a couple of games now and I have been very impressed with her . She has good speed and excellent movement on her pitches. She will be tough competition over the next two years.
  12. Re: Metallica music, By far the best pre-game music at any park so far! Also heard a some vintage Journey. Excellent Speaker system! They have a pretty good pitcher too.
  13. Wow! I didn't see that one coming! Just goes to show that you have to show up everyday! Unfortuanately, for Sequatchie, the rain always shows up.
  14. And I quote: "I simply said if you think that someone is good, state it." Guess what Big J, I did! I've given you several pitchers in the LOCAL AREA that are better pitchers. I just listed 3. I could have went on and on about players from Soddy, Ooltewah, Central, ...etc. The difference between you and I is that I can provide facts and actualy names, because I've seen all these different pitchers. You on the other hand base your argument on passion and hometown pride (Not to mention a questionable scorebook). Not once have i mentioned any of our players, we have 3 decent pitchers. Decent being a very kind assessment. As far as the "other" giril who throws only about 52 also, you are correct. But guess what, she has 3 other pitches to compliment her 52 mph fastball (that moves downward). AGAIN, FACTS! And for the fourth time, I never said anything negative about your pitcher, I simply provided some sound advice that would only help her. AGAIN YOUR PASSION is interfering with your commonsense. Like I mentioned earlier, don't bother posting to me til you get out the LOCAL AREA and actually see some talent! Let me give you some travel advice, head up to Bledsoe County if you want to see the next dominant pitcher in the LOCAL AREA. She is in 8th grade and will be better than all we have listed. AGAIN FACTS!
  15. Will they be playing out of Tyner?
  16. Sorry for leaving the Soddy girl out. You're absolutely correct. I was able to see her warm up last week and although I didn't see any of the game, she looked really impressive. Hope to see more of her soon.
  17. Big J, I appreciate your fondness of all things Jasper, I really do. Unfortuanately, I don't think you have seen the Henderson kid pitch for BBS. Let me give you a good piece of advice, take a trip to a Boyd game and watch the Henderson girl pitch. And after you have watched her, and only afterward, write back and tell me what a dominant pitcher looks like. If you will go back and read my first post, you will see that I suggested some good ideas to help your pitcher improve. Never once did I belittle your girl, nor would I ever. I hope the best for your girl and I listed the names of other pitchers only after your requested it. When you entitle your forum "Local Area" on a state-wide blog, you have to expect bloggers to think outside the city limits of Jasper. If I wanted to make it personal, I would have mentioned that a 52 mph non-moving fastball is not fast and that Marion County hasn't had a win over a dominant team yet either. But I didn't. Unless you are willing to hit the road and do a little more research, its been nice talking to you!
  18. Lets put an end to this silly squabble dealing the various "classes" at Marion County. Someone mentioned how good they thought the Freshman class was. Thats great! They are talented. No one is claiming that the other girls who make up the TEAM are less talented! In fact, they have a great group of talented players. Unfortuanately, this forum is for FRESHMAN! Nothing was implied by anyone, at anytime that the other girls were hacks. We should not take these post so personal, it is what it is, a compliment to Marion County's FRESHMAN class!
  19. First of all, the forum we are in is titled Pitchers in the AREA, not VALLEY. Second, Show me in my post where I knocked the kid, and finally: 1. Katie Henderson, Boyd Buchanan, 2. Jennifer Long, CCS, 3. Carmen Wooden, South Pittsburg......etc.... I could go on and on. It should be noted that #1 and #3 are Freshman. Before you start flying off the handle, double check your facts. Pride is a tough thing to swallow sometimes!
  20. Sounds like someone is a little touchy about their scorekeeping! hmmn? makes you wonder doesn't it?
  21. I agree with you purple1power. The freshman at Marion are a great collection of talent. With time and experience, these girls will take Marion County to the top of 6AA.
  22. I have seen Maise pitch for several years now and she is a fine player and a nice young lady. With continued work and preparation, she could develope into one of the areas best pitchers. With that being said, Maise needs to generate more arm speed and become more consistent with her other pitches. There is a fine line between a decent high school pitcher and a dominant hurler. I wish nothing but the best for Maise, but lets be realistic when making such provacative claims.
  23. South Pitt has one of the best freshman pitchers in the area (Carmen Wooden). They need to somehow add some more talent around her. Also, it would help if the coach knew how to call pitches and not let an inexperienced catcher call the pitches. This is in no way a slam on the catcher, its just not her responsibility. Wooden can throw 5 pitches, not just fastball and change.
  24. I agree with KenHawk, poor taste and totally inappropriate remarks about the injured coach.
