  1. This is hilarious...............I thought Blades was one of those "super" coaches that could coach anything to championship level!! Are you now saying that he needs good players, and he cannot just "magically" develop those mouthpiece chewers into D-1 talent LOD, you need to tell him about the "snake" drill!!

  3. Then he would be ya'lls # 1 "supporter".
  4. Mike, same question that I asked WarHawks! What offense would you run? Please be specific........I am very curious. You say that you do not like what he does............what would you do? This is honest dialogue.
  5. Coach Aydellott................you need to get you a flak jacket (with excellent back protection). I am pretty sure that this poster is not the biggest fan of your offense. He does have a breadth of enlightenment and knowledge of the game of football (all phases) For the record, I think you look out for your players quite well (they think so!!); that is what counts!! and I also think you are a good man! Great season last year...........many teams about the state would have swapped with you.
  6. 2 questions!! 1.) What offense would you run with SLOW players? 2.) Since you do not like the Riverdale "O"; what would you run with all that speed.........Be specific! seriously...........I am curious
  7. Scaldy...........listen carefully. You listed (4) coaches as possible candidates for the job! One of those coaches was found to be "knowingly" playing ineligible players (It was known by the coach, but they still participated!!). This IMHO.............is an ultimate "sin". This is "cheating", this is"unscrupulous" (sp), this is disgusting, and on and on. This is not a "life lesson" to be teaching to the other young men on the team. This is not "bashing".......this is information that many know about, but was not acted upon! I still do not why games were not forfeited; I assume; it was to keep from embarrassing someone higher up. Could he be re-hired?..........maybe! Would I be amazed?.......YES! Would I be surprised?........(in today's society) NO! As to why some posts and posters are removed............that would be the board owners' call, I do not know why!! I never said WJ was right nor did I ever say he was going to be re-hired. What I did say is that he is going to be in line for the job. He was a finalist for the Maplewood job and to tell you the truth this late in the game not many coaches are going to apply when the smoke settles. The coach that howdoitknow talked about also knowingly committed a crime. It was a fact. It wasn't something that was just brought up from "thin air" and was not true. If WJ gets to be talked about for what he did then I don't see why MM does not. That is MY POINT! Scaldy...........listen again!! Go back and read what I wrote; I never mentioned a name (you did). I simply said one of (4) coaches. That is the diff also, I would say that the one YOU mentioned was never in the mix at Maplewood

  9. Here is a shot at answering your question. There are some "screw-ups" that coaches do that can be lived with, but there are some things that coaches can do; that will get them the old "scarlet letter". When you get tagged that way...........it is almost impossible to get it removed. To stay in the game; one would have to move to another system. Here is what will get you that tag. If you knowingly play ineligible players (out of zone, grades, or over-age); you will be subject to scorn from your fellow colleagues, subject to forfeits, and job discipline. IMHO, if a coach knowingly commits this "crime" (and by the way; it was more than a single player) I do not feel that he should be allowed to coach again............note key word is "knowingly". Here is why! The other players know what is going on; this is a "horrendous" life lesson to be teaching. Here is another question that someone might answer............after it surfaced! Why were games not forfeited?
  10. According to the paper.................he resigned! Maybe they should bring back Coach Pigue; he would do it right. Who will try to get this job? Who is left on the staff that could do the job?
  11. Is this job open?? When did this happen?
  12. First of all..................I like the wing offense; especially the option-type that Riverdale runs. I just thought I would check some facts about offense production in your so-called vaunted district, and what I found out did not surprise me. Here is 2008 results: 2008 1.) Riverdale (10 games) - 291 pts (29.1 avg) 2.) Oakland (15 games) - 332 pts (22.1 avg) 3.) Smyrna (13 games) - 212 pts (16.3 avg) 4.) Blackman (10 games) - 129 pts (12.9 avg) 2009 1.) Riverdale (14 games) - 404 pts (28.9 avg) 2.) Blackman (13 games) - 335 pts (25.8 avg) 3.) Oakland (13 games) - 331 pts (23.9 avg) 4.) Smyrna (10 games) - 218 pts (21.8 avg) 2007 Riverdale (11 games) - 298 pts (27.1 avg)..........note Smyrna was (28.4 avg) 2006 Riverdale (14 games ) - 437 pts (31.2) YOUR team by stats on this website is easily year over year the most productive offense in the district; yet every other week you continually slam the so-called antiquated useless offense...............what exactly are you expecting? Please do not let common sense get in the way of the above facts..........Riverdale's offense is very good.
  13. Where will the big man............Hester be next year??
  14. Williamson Co. is a "slow learner"!! Remember the last time the county hired one of those ex-pro phenoms.................that would be Dennis Harrison at Page, and he brought (2) ex-pros to help him. How did that work out? Being a great player, playing in the pros has NO translation to coaching (especially in HS)...........it might help better in college or the pros.
  15. I think you misread that HL thread.......I think Elrod has simply retired! I also suspect Armstrong would stay at Maplewood; he is probably real reason for Maplewood's recent success.
  16. Excellent coach..............best ya'll could have ever wanted. No answer to my question!! Who was the moron that caused him to let the job go. Sometimes you do not realize what you had until it is gone!! Someone knows..............who was it?
  17. Here is a question for the FC faithful; just my curiosity. Why in heavens name did someone in that county think that Mantooth needed to be replaced. You folks had one of the hardest working and best people on this planet. Ya'll have now gone through (2) coaches and are looking again!! You will never have a better coach than Mantooth. Who exactly was the idiot that caused him to leave??
  18. Remember..............you hate the wing-t; thus you do not have that play in your offense
  19. What a total tool........................!
  20. Do any of you remember this statement "A gold ball cannot be won at the highest level in TN running the Wing-T". The Rutherford County Anti-Wing-T Legion has achieved its goal!! I heard that the job would not go to a coach running that offense................. Now if the Legion can get that dang Aydellott out of Riverdale; Rutherford Co. would be Wing-Free Zone However, if you are a Creasy fan, but do not like the Wing!!..............the "chickens have come home to roost". So, the above statement of 2 titles in 2 years really means nothing BECAUSE, it was done with an offense; that would not be acceptable at SeeGull................according to the LEGION. (LOL) I really think this is a bit ironic.............fellows!! You cannot have it both ways
  21. Excellent post and the main reason you do not see the offense at that level..........since you mentioned Brett Farve; have you heard this one "if a player has to run the wing-t in HS; it will hurt his chances to get a college scholarship"...............bet ya'll cannot guess what old Brett ran in HS; yep, it was the wing-t. Probably will keep him out of the Pro Hall of Fame also (LOL) Uhh! that Beech wing-T really looked ugly last night................and he did not run that offense last season with probably better players. Main reason that many coaches do not fool with the offense is that is harder to coach, takes more time to perfect................Some of the lesser teams run it for this simple reason...........it will give you a chance to stay in ball games with lesser players
  22. Are you sure about that??? I heard a rumor the other day........... No, I will not repeat it. Then why do you even say anything at all? By saying that you know you want to say something. It all depends on who siegel decides to hire. It could go to a local coach who is looking for a move? Which could cause another opening in the area. We will have to wait and see. siegel will not hire a wing coach.....................Perry is not going to siegel.
  23. Bluetubby, Right on target................absolutely. Now, can the very good TN teams compete in any state..........absolutely!!! and win state championships. Yes, Yes, Yes, Here is the difference; where there is (1) great 94 Riverdale team or (1) great Maryville team...........say we have 2-3 teams of that caliber; The Georgia's and Texas's each will 10-15 teams of that type caliber............WHY!!! Both state have a much larger population.............much much larger; thus a much larger talent base AND both those states have area pockets that really put money (the mother's milk of success) into the programs. About the only programs in TN that can match them money-wise are some of the privates like MBA, Ensworth, McCallie...............we really have nothing like a public Hoover (AL) or a Camden Co (GA), Grayson (GA).............money-wise! If we do.............name it!! Point is..............the chances are slimmer that a TN team will win with the offense is because few teams really run the offense in TN unlike say GA, but I assure you if one of the really potent GA wing teams of the last 4-5 years had been playing in TN..............they could have won the 5-6A level. Some people just make unusual statements, and then cannot bring themselves to admit at least the possibilty.................! Then there is a couple of folks that dislike their coach so much.............they will find fault in spite of whatever he might do..............and would never admit even the slimmest possibilty. For the record................a right fair old NFL coach named .............hmm lets see Vince Lombardi!! made quite a name for himself running a thing called the Green Bay Sweep (*note...about as wing-t as you can get) What about Florida..............they run the Single-Wing!! What about all that so-called "Wildcat" crap that colleges and pros are running............JET SWEEP!! (many HS have been running it for years) from the wing-t. Want to know how that got started?? A prominent HS coach followed his high-profile QB to Arkansas and brought the play with him.............and many have copied it!! A very average team in TN added the wing stuff to there Power smoke stack I attack and made the finals............they had better players last year. Heard of Beech?? I think that the added wing stuff gave them a boost.....
  24. Uhh!!.........................Wilson Central has already been introduced to the "spread". Scotty (Gilligan) Smith will not be the next coach at WC..................book it!!
  25. Might be a whole other thread but it will be tough to ever go all the way with the wing t. The wishbone was the spread offense of my day (shows you how old I am) but now you never see it except on old high light films. There is a reason for that, it does not work anymore. Most kids probably never even heard of the wishbone. The wing t is outdated and will make it tough to win a gold ball for whoever runs it at this level. I was hoping this team would prove me wrong...ive said since the hiring that you cant win state at the highest level with wing T the coaches and players are too good for it to WIN STATE i think you can go 9-1 or 8-2 every year but to WIN state i dont think so You are an "idiot"..................What state are you referring to?? Is this just the state of TN that you cannot win by running a particular offense!! because just south of us is a place called: Georgia (which is a pretty good HS football state) is basically dominated by wing teams. Best team in GA this year (Grayson #6 in the country) is a wing team. So what you are saying is that the best teams in GA (Lowndes Co, Grayson, Camden) which have dominated that state AND win at the highest level running the wing offense, BUT if they came to Tennessee and played; would not win at the highest level. Please explain that stupid logic to me...................the problem is that you do not like Ron Aydelott (and never will) and it has festered to the point of lunacy. I really hope that Ron would come to his senses and find him another place to go...............you do not deserve him.
