  1. This game must have been a fluke for independence. Just like every other game, I say everyone should keep picking against them, I think its just hard for some people to actually admit that independence is good.
  2. also, make some predictions for all mid state...
  3. Just wondering...if anyone knows, when does the Tennessean All Mid State team come out?
  4. yeah we just drove by there and found that low fence so we'll be out there
  5. This is totally off topic, but is DB's field open today? For example: to kick on?
  6. I have no idea, but I'd really like to know...
  7. who are the standout players from each game you have played in/watched/ etc.?
  8. This is definitely a make/break game for Independence/Centennial. If Independence wins this one, they could possibly, maybe even should, win out the season coming in 2nd in the district.... Not so sure about Centennials schedule, but this is a for sure make/break for INDY...the rest of the season depends on this game....much better to be 1-1 in the district than 0-2 before Indy's bye week next week.
  9. I have to totally agree, while I am a 15 almost 16 year old ref, this is actually almost comical. Being a ref has actually helped me GREATLY. A couple of times, for example, there was a shot that rang of the post and their forward was standing in an offsides position and scores. I look over at the AR and am shouting offsides and he stood there curiously and then i "explain" or yell at the ref the rule and then he finally puts his flag up. Similar situations with over and back calls. Or how bout a ref that if you say good call he gives you a yellow!? And it WASN'T sarcastic. High School Soccer refs are for the most part ridiculous, we have had one good crew this year i believe. ODP refs are sooooooo much better.
  10. The Indy keeper was quite impressive in warm ups I must say. Amazing set of hands and ability to go get the ball. Changing the subject did anyone notice the center mid for Columbia #23? YES rhs81, he was pretty amazing. I can't count on one hand how many times he dribbled through our whole defense. While, many times we were just diving in, he still made all of us including me, look ridiculous. I have to say I was impressed and I have seen many MANY good players. And BigG, tell ben I said hello and tell him to get better and eat a banana he'll know who it is haha
  11. Wow...so now apparently soccer teams are ranked by what we think the score should have been. There are lots of games in which one team will have 30 shots and break down once and lose the game 1-0. Independence's first goal came from an outside midfielder running past two defenders to score so that can't be offsides. 3rd goal came from a center midfield run which clearly wasn't offsides either. Yes Columbia hit the bar 4 times. Want to count how many times Indy hit the ball over the goal throughout the entire game? I will agree that Columbia is a very good team, but I will also say that was far from Independences best that day. The goalie made two stupid plays. Kicked the ball away after the play (first yellow) , and took a player down in the box (second yellow). Independence capitalized. Enough said....Score was 3-1. Couldn't have said it better Jimcalhoon. But honestly xxsoccerxx, according to you, you might want to protest this to tssaa, they might approve, a goal is worth maybe 2 points, hitting the crossbar/post is a point and if your team get's a red then the game was terrible and the outcome should be totally different and it shouldn't count...This is what it sounds like to me...This is ridiculous! This is why the game is 80 MINUTES LONG NOT 77 MIN OR 79 MIN BUT 80. So what if it happened the last two minutes!? So also, for football, if someone scores on their two minute drill and scores a winning field goal and wins by a point...it should be a tie, because the other team ALMOST scored earlier in the first quarter, but their kicker hit the upright. Come on man. Also, your saying that OH but CCHS keeeper got a red for the "fair" challenge. Ok, I'm a goalie as you can see, first yes he did already have a yellow. Second, he ran over the guy 2-3 seconds after he headed it. Third, That is DEFINITELY a foul. Not only am I a goalie, but I am also a ref; that is a foul, automatically a PK. And also definitely a yellow, even if he hadn't had the other yellow from delay, it was a PK! The shooter probably would have made it any ways. So for you to say that it was a tie was RIDICULOUS.
  12. Top rising specialists in Tennessee (Punters/Kickers/Long Snappers)
  13. First who has the tougher district? I believe it either comes down to Farragut's district and Brentwood's district...both have numerous teams in the top ten. Also, who has the toughest schedule, obviously the teams in these two districts have to play one another, but what about out-of-district play. Indy plays (out of district) Columbia Central, going to a good tourny in Grissom, AL, where I know they play Christian Brothers, playing White House, MUS, Briarcrest, Bearden, and Hendersonville.
  14. I don't understand why all of you think that this was the plan the whole way along? If so.. then why was it offered to Donnie Webb...Also all you people who are bashing the admin. they may have made some mistakes, but they have put together a great staff and i can assure you that dyson knows what he is talking about and is a good coach. And everyone bashing how bad this is and how bad it will turn out and then saying but i hope the best for the eagles? The offseason workout is no joke either when people are showing up at 6 in the morning and after school every day?

    :)

This is very true...and another thing to think about especially this past couple of years and forward are how many of the amazing high school soccer players aren't playing high school soccer in some of those states. Many have now changed to the Academy and don't play high school...at least in CA i know a lot of them don't and i'm sure its the same in other states as well. But like what has been said...congratulations to farragut and a futuristic congratulations
  16. Also, I would hope that parents teach them right from wrong, but appearantly not KAOS parents who allowed their kids to key Ben Holt's dad's car after their game and threatened some of their kids to a fight in the parking lot. Now that's very classy isn't it?
  17. we are very young... we are probably going to have 7 sophmores on varsity next year, and 4 or 5 juniors and 4 very strong seniors...offense could be a struggle, but we also have kyle who's very strong and josh rohrer, who is a little scrappy player with a great shot that was out most of this season with surgery on his foot, which could be a problem for him.
  18. The state didn't want to have anything to do with it, and I'm not saying it's right to hurt some one just because you dislike them...I'm not saying that at all, and yes it does depend on what your parents teach you..I'm not saying what the brazil kid did was right at all, I think it is wrong, but things happen on the field that stay on the field and people just have to accept that, sometimes it is personal some times it is not. I can assure you that the KAOS players do things just like that, especially against some one like me, because of our family morals and values...don't want to get into that either. You obviously know who I am and I honestly don't care. KAOS players have threatened to fight other players in the parking lot, and I might be wrong about this, because I'm not sure if this is the same game but a KAOS player keyed a little brazil parents car...maybe because of the cheap shot, I don't know pick a side, I'm just putting this out there, because I have friends on little brazil and who I thought were friends but really just turned out to be former teammates on KAOS.
  19. Hold on here, both of you have something right: Yes he knows how to win, but he also has cheated and everyone knows that...it was a big deal when it happened, but now, it is beginning to show that the cream rises to the top. Yes he took who he wanted to form a team, but he did it not within the rules. There was proof, and that's the end of the story. And I'm not trying to offend the KAOS or you in anyway, or Jeff Jordan, but I don't know how you can say they are such a powerhouse or anything like that when they didn't even get into the finals last year. I know a couple players on there, because I played with them...Personally, I believe what they did was wrong, but I'm not going to get into that too deeply. For the cheap shot and stuff you guys are talking about, both of you know exactly what one has to do with the other. When you don't like some1, because of who they are, what the heck do you think you're gonna do to them? When people ###### you off, you wanna get them back. Especially FC Alliance, their new name, and my former team, TNFC '94 Blue, both of these teams had strong dislikes for KAOS, I believe, for similar but different reasons. That's my two cents worth, and I don't want to be in this mess with you two. I'm just saying what I know and I don't want to comment again on this topic.
  20. sorry I'm new to the boards, and I have just been reading all the comments, and I definately believe they are exaggerated. I, along with futbol20, know some of the people posting these things and I know for sure one doesn't play soccer at all. He is the most exaggerate person--maclax-- or whatever. But, thanks for all of the comments... I guess, if they even believe that, but I know that I'm not the best thing out there, obviously, and others know that too.
