  1. No one knows for sure how this breaks down, BUT: wouldn't YORK play in the same quad as cannon and smith. and move TYNER or HOWARD to quad 2? Besides. York is about an hour further than Tyner from anybody in that quad... Again, WHO KNOWS?! alot of football left also...
  2. No, they would have to finish 1st or 2nd to get automatic bids in the 4a playoffs, which they won't. Then they would have to be ranked higher than some of these other 4a teams, which they are not in the WILDCARD ballot on tssaa.org. Sorry you are incorrect. Go back and look at the t$$aa website again. Look at the header for this district. You have two 4A teams in this District. The highest finishing 4A team goes to the playoffs. WOW! That's kinda bull that some districts get auto bids and others don't? why is that? didn't see that until now... thanks for bringing that to my attention
  3. No, they would have to finish 1st or 2nd to get automatic bids in the 4a playoffs, which they won't. Then they would have to be ranked higher than some of these other 4a teams, which they are not in the WILDCARD ballot on tssaa.org.
  4. If you group them like that, then there are only 3 teams get automatic bids out of a needed 8 teams in quad 4... That would mean teams from East Tenn. would have to travel to Memphis. From what I gather, they will pull more regionally. Meaning that: QUAD 1: Districts 1-3 QUAD 2: Districts 4-7 QUAD 3: Districts 8-10 QUAD 4: Districts 11-16 Nearby Wildcards fill in where there aren't 8 teams. This is what I figure will happen, but it's the TSSAA, WHO KNOWS!!!???
  5. Last Friday a bunch of kids take high doses of Ibuprofen and 5-hr energy before their game! big mistake... they cramped up by the second quarter. If a kid is prone to it, it's one thing, but they are kids and they don't tell the whole story sometimes! Energy drinks can cause severe dehydration, and ibuprofen pulls water out of the muscles. Make sure he's not trying to be his own dr. and get the kid some pickle juice and water and gatorade and bananas.
  6. First of all, "won't be as good as last year"? last year, they were one and done in the playoffs... didn't play any teams like they will this year... Alcoa, McMinn, Cleveland, and so on... This can ONLY make them better. Second, "they lost several great coaches." They lost the head coach, to go to Ga. to be a Off. Coord., and the Def. Coord., who quit. great means you have won more than you lost or many more than you lost. The HC record was 21-11, that's 66%, I agree, this is good, but -They ran Fulmer out of UT with a 75% win record. *Playoff record was 0-3... is that defined as great? Finally, "non-experienced guy." This new coach has played or coached football for around 20 years, including D1. He has coached for a team that has won playoff games and beaten state championship caliber teams. He has also coached at the school that Central hasn't beaten in nearly 25 years. A larger school with tougher competition. Also, "brought in family." Yeah, that's what you don't want on your staff, someone you can trust... Just because you can't stand your family doesn't mean everybody can't. If you don't like him, please don't come to the games. and don't show up when Central is playing past the first round of the playoffs, either. If you do come, bring your plate, I'll bring the CROW.
  7. Even if Central goes 6-4 - they still win the region... Make it to the playoffs, hopefully win one or two, and do better than the last 10 years. Polk can brag on beating Central, But make no mistake, Polk beat em when Central had the worst coach in Tennessee history. look it up. that coach ranks as losingest head coach in the state history. I heard MC is getting 15 seniors back, which are talented kids and can make a run. Plus, they will want to play for this staff and be disciplined like they haven't seen in their careers. Also, I feel an upset of one of the 4 tuff ones this year, maybe game 1!
  8. You seriously think that central needs a coach that is only committed for one year, then leave? Regardless who the coach is, you need continuity in a program. You could give that to these kids for years to come with one of these guys that don't plan on leaving. I say get somebody that will commit long term, and mean it. Somebody who has ties and will be here to make this team better and do more than just ramp up for a run to another school. As far as I'm concerned, you'll not find better coaches for this school than the ones they're interviewing. Also, bet we know tomorrow, in the paper by Friday! Go Big Blue!!!
