    Region 7

Let em talk... They know Region 7 is on the rise!
  2. Should be alot of great matches. Will the duals be streaming?
  3. Should be a cool event. I am sure many kids from all over the area will come. Mike, do you know if there is going to be a section where the TN kids could all sit together?
  4. Just received a tweet saying that Compound Wrestling will be wrestling the TN All-Star Team along side the Mocs at the Iowa @ UTC meet. Should be interesting. Anybody know what the line-ups look like?
  5. I like both, but I think the agression of Dake will be the deciding factor. Dake is my pick. Gonna be a great one!
  6. Last year this was a very well run and compettitive event (well worth the drive). For those of you in Middle and North TN it is not a very long drive. It takes us about 5 hours from Clarksville and we left from Franklin last year and it took us about 4.5 hours. The 4th Annual Kings Island Wrestling Invitational will be held November 3, 2012 at Courts4Sports in Mason, Ohio!!! We started out with 40 wrestlers in 2009, 160 or so in 2010, 240 last year and hope to get over 300 this year! 7. I haven't combed through the brackets very thouroughly, but the Evans kid from Alcoa Middle School won at 235 in the MS division.
  8. That does, and thanks for the help Josh. It just bothers me that when I show up to coach the club the HS wrestlers are walking out of the gym when they could be coming to my club practices for additional drilling if they chose to do so. Also it would be nice to be able to take some of these kids to tournaments like Dixie and the Grind during the season to get them some exposure at the national level. I think this has been a very helpful and needed conversation in order to advance the sport in our state. We have the talent, we just need to provide all the opportunities possible to our wrestlers.
  9. PUMMELKING You seem to be very fimilar with the TSSAA and TMSSAA regs. My question for you is, if a club coach decides to support his feeder High School with additonal coaching after the HS practice can those additional practices be held at the same location as the HS team's regu;ar practice or does it have to be off-site?
  10. I would love to establish Regional Training Centers for the kids who compete at the National level, and that is my long term goal. However in the short term, I think we should just make a posting each time a National Event comes around and get the coaches in the area communicating.
  11. The reason I posed the question is because I am not familiar enough with the TSSAA rules to know what the real deal is. I do know that there are a lot of quality club coaches that attend the National Level tournaments with their clubs throughout the season. I am willing to bet that if you have some guys on your High School roster that can compete at that level and would like to go, there is a club coach in your area that will be at the tournament willing to volunteer their time to that kid. If this is the case the club coaches of the state need to figure out a way to communicate with the HS coaches and put trips together that include our High School wrestlers as well.
  12. I am but a humble youth coach, but I care deeply about wrestling and its growth in the state. I have a question about our kids not being able to travel at the high school level. It is my understanding that our kids don't attend things like Super 32 or Dixie because they are not working out because of the "dead period" and because they will not have a coach. If someone had the drive and motivation to coach these kids during the dead period and at these tournaments could they legally do so as long as they are not on a high school's coaching staff?
  13. Congratulations to all the kids, but being from Clarksville I want to send out a special congrats to Isbell and Bond! Great job guys and good luck this season!
  14. This is defienently what TN needs to acheive it's goals in wrestling. I have seen our kids excel at the national level and I am sure they could do more if their coaches could spend more time with them in the off-season.
  15. Unfortunately due to lack of interest we will be canceling this event. We are planning to try again in Novemeber. Coaches please email me or post to this board a date that would fit in your calender. Thanks Josh Moon jcddmoon10@gmail.com

  17. I have recieved calls from GA, KY, and AL. Interest is increasing. If your kids aren't going to Super 32 this is the place to come.
  18. Clash at the Creek is now on Trackwrestling for pre-registration!
  19. All wrestlers will be required to have an AAU card. Our insurance and sactioning is through AAU. However if they buy their card they will already be set for the AAU Middle School season!
  20. Get your rosters in as soon as possible! Gonna be a good one. Should have a good turnout.
  21. They should just make Cliff Keen old school headgear mandatory. I tell all my club parents to by the cliff keen style gear. Best by far!
  22. Coaches, If you intend on sending kids to this tournament please just give me a heads up. I don't need any numbers just a simple _______ Middle School/Club is coming. Thanks Coach Moon
  23. Does this rule affect other organizations as well such as USA Wrestling, AAU, or NUWAY?
