  1. Could someone please post schedule with times and teams of this tournament on the 2nd and 3rd?
  2. Obviously you must care or you wouldnt be on here reading and replying to the thread.
  3. Whatever you want to call it, SPHS is still in need of one boys team to complete it.
  4. Teams currently in it are SPHS, Rhea Co., and Franklin Co.
  5. South Pittsburg High School is in need of one boys team to complete their Christmas Tournament on December 18th, 19th, and 20th. Please contact Coach David Phillips if interested at vandyphil12@yahoo.com.
  6. Hey zone, I'll be glad to teach Travis what I know about the kicking game. Does he want to learn soccer-style? Thats what I know and I've been working with the Allen twins a little trying to turn them into kickers. You never know when it may come down to a game winner.
  7. They lost to South Pittsburg at the Grundy Co. tournament.
  8. Wardawg, good to hear from you as well. I've kept up with how you've done with the Lake Co. program. Congratulations on your successes. Keep up the good work. Btw, still playing softball?
  9. Sorry Indian, previous Marion topic I started was just an inside joke. Not to be taken seriously. I apologize for the offense.
  10. Most of the calls went in favor of SP? Are you kidding me? Did you watch the first half? Robert Robinson(#24) breaks about a 15 yard run down deep inside FCS territory and the side referee running with his back to the action, throws a flag backwards for holding. About two or three plays after that, a chop block is called on the left tackle for SP. Who did he chop? His own man. Thats right, he fell forward into his own man. And then, just before the half, #32 for FCS releases down the field for a pass, extends his arm to get some separation from the Pirate defender and no pass interference is called by the official who is looking right at the play. Did these calls affect the outcome of the game? Probably not. When you turn the ball over in your own territory twice and your opponent only has to drive a total of about 55 yards for two TDs, it can only hurt your chances to win. So dont think that i'm blaming the loss on the officials, just wanted to point out some of the obvious that apparently you missed in your film that we saw in ours. Good luck to your team in its rematch with Trousdale, and hopefully we will meet again next year.
  11. My question to all you folks out there talking about how big Greenback's line is: Game time tempatures will probably reach into the upper 80s. Throw into account the humidity. Will that affect those huge lineman? I would say so. It remains to be seen who will be wore down by the 3rd or 4th quarter, most likely both teams will be affected, but my guess is it's going to affect those bigger guys long before anyone else.
  12. Its true that a scrimmage is just a scrimmage, but after talking with one of the coaches at SP shortly after the scrimmage, I found out the entire staff was very impressed with how well the Pirates played. After what would be considered a very subpar season for a program like SP in 2004, things are looking up again for the Pirates in 05. As for the score I was told 2-1 MP, and that both defenses looked very impressive. Take it for what its worth, but thats my side of the story.
  13. Can anyone shed some light on this year's Hornets team?
  14. Why do you say in the first part of the post that it wasnt to be blamed on the officials and then follow it up with a whole story on what could've been if things had been called the right way? I saw that you weren't going to blame it on officials, but i also kept reading and saw where you actually blamed officials for things that went against your team. You just said in your last post that you only saw two games this year where the officials can be blamed for part of the loss, this one being one of them, but you wanted me to make sure i saw the part where you said officials werent to blame.
  15. Hey, whatta ya know, Sequatchie lost a game and it wasnt their fault,......again.
  16. I'm not sure if I can add anything to this, but the district tournament setup has been the way it is this year ever since this district came to be. The number 1's and number 2's have always had byes into the tournament semi's, thus earning them an automatic region birth. Don't know if that is what you guys are talking about, but thought I would clarify if there was a question or complaint.
  17. What was the final for the boys? Wasnt in paper.
  18. What type of program is Loudon? Traditions? Why is the current coach leaving? If you can, provide some insight into this situation. Not anything negative, keep it clean. Any information would be appreciated.
  19. They must have figured that with all the ink SD and Ooltewah got during football season, it must have been time to give someone else a spot in the newspaper.
  20. Final was actually 75-61. Was pretty good game by both teams.
  21. This may be a stupid question, but could someone explain the difference between magnet schools, such as CSAS and Tyner, and private schools, such as Boyd Buchanan, and Chattanooga Christian. How are they different, if they are?
