  1. Golfendude talking smack on your 2nd post...I like it.
  2. Re-read what I wrote. Or better still, I will quote it: "..there is no way Clarksville hangs with Springfield.."
  3. Uh...no. Clarksville will lose unless the weather happens to cause unfortunate turnovers for Springfield. Springfield has two big time D-1 players and very good talent surrounding them. This from a Mt. Juliet fan, non-bias observer.
  4. Having seen both, there is no way Clarksville hangs with Springfield unless the weather, strong wind and some rain, leads to bad turnovers. Clarksville has the talent to go as far as they want.
  5. After the homecoming loss to Rossview, I don't think coach Perry will allow this team to overlook any team on any night.
  6. Regarding the original topic...It's over, let's play. Regarding the LaVergne statement...
  7. Again this week, Springfield by as much as they want.
  8. I have two: The first is not really a tired old line that folks use but it drives me nuts. When the fourth quarter starts and everybody holds up four fingers. It's old and worn out, heck, we did that in the '70's. So here's my advice, WE ALL KNOW IT"S THE FOURTH QUARTER...just play #@%$^&!!! The second is also not a tired line but has been overused ad-naseum. When a talk show host says. "Well as his teammate, he really threw him under the bus." Again, just over-used and it's time to throw that expression "under the bus". OOPS!
  9. In AAA this year it's Wilson Central and then everybody else. Anything less than a repeat will be shocking.
  10. Springfield by as much as they want.
  11. Would that be a snotknocker or a slobberknocker? What will it be...Wing T or I formation with two tights or both?
  12. Based on talent and having seen these two teams play this year, Springfield will win by as many as they want. Good luck to Portland, there will be some snotblocking hits going on.
  13. It's also Kroger..not Kroger's. Couldn't help myself. :justwrestle:
  14. Sorry, yes I was at the EKU game and also last night at the Murray State win. It looks like the offense is starting to gel and the defense is overachieving and doing it well, with some young guys really stepping up. I still contend that Sweeney needs to be in the shotgun 70-80% of the time which will not hurt the running game whatsoever. Murray State came up with some big plays last night on defense or the game would not have been close. Hey, it's tough to win on the road and Tech pulled it out last night for a great win.
  15. Having seen the Jackets this year, they are (Mr. Obvious), very impressive. They have two legitimate D-1 prospects and a snarly defense. I look for them to win out and make some major noise in the 4-A playoffs.
  16. Any info on Rossview? I see that they are 2-3 thus far. Any idea how they will stack up against Mt. Juliet this Friday?
  17. Searching my brain, going back, thinking, yes! Last year 30-27.
  18. This is real simple. The coach who is on offense can ask the head referee to have the band stop playing while they are at the line of scrimmage. I've seen it done even at the college level. I've never seen an official not enforce the request. You just gotta ask.
  19. WOW...You speak THE TRUTH...Hey while you're at it, why don't you little devils jump up and down on the big MJ at mid-field.
  20. Yes, PTsportswriter, will move up with the realignment in the spring. The new Mt Juliet High School will be ready in the fall of '08 and will start construction on another new high school called North Central within five years located in the Laguardo area off 109 as you are heading to Gallatin. Also will be replacing Lebanon High school in the next couple of years, at least the funding will get approved.
  21. From all indications it looks like Mt. Juliet will and should be heading to region with Gallatin, Hendersonville, McGavock, etc.. There is more tradition between MJ and those schools. I'm sure they will still play Wilson Central and Lebanon not only for the gate but for the good of the county.
  22. It is the CSS game of the week, game starts at 7. It looks like the Bears have bought into the wing-T system that coach Perry runs. Lebanon will pose both a ground and air attack for the Bears to deal with. This should be a good game.
  23. Someone needs to answer this for me. Why do coaches try and sit on a 5 point lead with 10 minutes to go in a game and you are on the road? Your redshirt freshman quarterback has thrown for close to 300 yards, two touchdowns and led the team back from a deficit of 21-6 to take the lead at 26-21 in the second half. Your team has been successful in your offense and rather than play to win you play not to lose. I will never understand this mentality. We'll run the ball on first and second down, get in third and long and punt....twice. It seems to me that is the time in the game where you need to step on your opponents neck and push harder. Play the game. Oh, final score...TTU 26, Gardner Webb 31.
  24. It's a shame to waste the talent of Sweeney because you can't pass block. Any coach will tell you that just about anyone can be taught to pass block. It's all about feet position and hand placement. Hopefully they'll get it corrected.
