  1. Hey, I have a P.H.D.(a Player Hater Degree) Any way, i will be in attendance tomorrow night at the Coffee Co., Riverdale B-Ball game. It will be the first one i've had a chance to go to. Wingman, are you going to be there? I would love to formally introduce myself. You could where a shirt that has Wingman on the front. I hope i can find you before Coach Price does. Oh, on the back of the shirt it should say,"hated by the citizens of Coffee Co., but loved by region4fan!"
  2. ummm... I said dilfer wasn't productive because he failed to produce any touchdowns for the Ravens for a streak of like 6 games. Did you read my post? That teams offense was Jamal Lewis. They won it with D and Runing game, not Dilfer. And I don't believe that Dilfer put up good numbers with Tampa either. Did a great job with the Ravens D? He didn't lead Tampa anywhere but to the first round of the playoffs!?! Thats why Dungy got fired. What are you talking about?? Hey, everybody starts out 2nd string, how do you find out who the great QB's are if they don't get their chance? If we were talking about the 49ers of old, you would probably use the same thoughtless reasoning about Steve Young when he was becoming the starter after Joe Montana. Let Volek be the starter, then we'll find out what kind of a leader he is. He hasn't exactly been placed in a leadership postion yet so we can't judge him that way. I think the only thing we have to go by is his play at quaterback(which has been comparable to Peyton for gosh sakes!!!) How could anyone disagree that he deserves a chance to start?!? Warren Moon was a great QB, and I think you underestimate what it takes to win a superbowl, he did lead the Oilers to an AFC championship game(but lost to the bills). Sorry to tell you, but there are 52 other players on the team, and I'd be impressed if you can name some other great talent that Moon had around him those years, but I doubt you could. I know of Bruce Mathews, but definsively I don't think you'll be able to tell me that they had superbowl talent all the way around on that team. I am here telling you that if you think drafting Jason White and starting him next year is a better idea than starting Volek, you're out of your mind and you know nothing about football. Oh, and Lefors of Louisbille is awsome, did you guys know that he is the only one in his family thats not deaf and he speaks to them through signing? Maybe that helps him on the field when the crowds get loud.
  3. And again I ask, why do you place Volek in that categorie already? The reason the titans are losing has nothing to do with his QB play, its the horrible defense and injuries. McNair will always be a hero of mine since the time I saw him play in the superbowl. I am a huge fan of his and always will be. If he can come back and be the player he once was, that would be great. I don't think he's ever gonna be quite the same again though. And I also think Volek has proven he deserves a shot to challenge McNair for the starting spot next season. He has done everything anyone could have asked of him and much more. His effieceincy rating is excellent. With the return of key defensive players, Chris Brown, Calico, and the maturation of all the young defensive players the titans have, the titans could be so awsome next year with Volek leading the way. I don't understand why you think he's not going to do good consistently, and I pretty much think these claims you make on Volek make no sense at all. You brought up Dilfer, he was never productive!! The defense won the Ravens their superbowl, in fact, i remember that team going on a very long streak with out scoring a td at all!! You bring up Warner, he was great for 3 seasons leading the greatest show on turf. He had a late start to his career, then got hurt, and nowit looks like he's just suffering from old age. If Volek could be an MVP type player for 3 seasons, and win a superbowl(!) I wouldn't care if he "leveled off" after that. We can look for someone new after that happens.(???) So I basicly just reveiled in asking you to explain your comments, that you have absolutely no idea what your talking about.
  4. What brought you to that conclusion about Volek? The one time he started last year he won and did great, and the 5 times this year he has been unbelievable! Do you know somthing about him that no one else does that makes you believe he's only good for a game or a season then not any more? Seems to me he is doing things in this offense that McNair has never done in his career. Volek has done everthing possible to help this team win and is definatly ready to be a starter, and if its not with the titans, it will be somewhere else. He is worth alot more than he's getting paid right now and is too good to be sitting on the titans bench.
  5. 490yards, 4tds, and 1 rushing td. Still think Volek can't get it done?
  6. He is on pace to have the greatest season ever by a QB in the NFL. Not only the touchdowns record, passer rating, but he is also on pace to set a new yardage record. 5,000 yards is unbelievable. This team could go down in history as one of the best offenses ever with Edge leading the league in rushing.
  7. True, perfect, probably not. Prototypical, definitley. As for his scrambling ability, its almost to the point that he doesn't have to scrambel. He just is able to get the ball away to the right person every time. He also does run decent when he runs a bootleg around the end. So he is definitly not the slowest QB by anymeans.
  8. I agree. Peyton makes those guys better. the three receivers and 2 tight ends they have make the perfect fit for the roles they are required to play. I think we'll see alot more teams go to 3 wide outs and get 3 guys with great speed, not worry too much about the size. All three of those rec. run perfect routes and get open, and Manning is the one guy who can find the one open man on every pass play. He is so good because he does the little things perfect, (such as his fake handoffs.) I think he will be remember as the best of all time. I mean, last year he was co-MVP with 29 tds!!!!! He might double that this year!! Another record other than the passing records I think he'll break, is the consecutive starts that Bret Farvre got this year. Peyton has only missed any snaps because of how bad they beat people, he is already close to 120 consecutive starts. Manning is just the perfect NFL quarterback.
  9. Impressive, being a kicker once, i can appreciate the skill he has to put it in the endzone consistently. He should definatly play somewhere.
  10. I am almost positive that Jeff Fisher said himself that Volek has a stonger arm than McNair. I can't give specific examples, or tell exactly how hard he throws, but I've heard this on TV, newspaper, etc... numerous times. I didn't say the White was horrid, I just listen to what ESPN analysts say and I usually agree. There are so many great College QB's that haven't panned out in the NFL. It is almost impossible to tell who would be good and who wouldn't. As for Volek, it seems to me that his numbers speak for themselves. At the rate he gets yards and throws touchdowns, if he'd started all year, he would be in the top 5 in both categories. Also, if you compare numbers to McNair(who has started at least 3 more games than Volek) Volek has 13tds. and 6ints. to McNairs 8tds. and 9ints.(correct me if i'm wrong but i am almost positive.) 5a why wouldn't you agree that he should get a shot, instead of spending the big dollars to draft a top QB? Especially with the salary cap problems the titans are having, seems to be the best of both worlds to me. And personally if a guy can throw for 430 yards and 4 tds on Monday Night, i think a guy like that is good for the titans.
  11. are you kidding? You must have missed last nights game. Have you seen Volek's numbers as a starter? he has at least 2 tds. in the 5 games he's started! And with some of the guys out there starting now, you don't think Volek would start on some other team?!? Have you seen the Bears, 49ers, Dolphins? That is only to name a few. Volek has the arm strength and the poise to be a good qb in the NFL. I could go on and talk about other teams he'd start on, but out of the previously before mentioned, if you don't think Volek is better than what at least those three teams have, your just crazy. Even the analysts on ESPN have been praising Volek, and I also seem to remember a certain Bill Parcels being after him to start for the Cowboys last off-season. Jason White? you must be joking. He is the one who won't start ever in the NFL, just like old Sooner's Josh Hypol(sp.) and Nate Hyble.
  12. I watched, and Man! Bennetts got speed and quickness that no one has given him credit for! I personally believe that with Volek at QB, that could be a highly unforseen, deadly combo for 5 - 7 years. Mason would still be the #1 but Bennett looks like the home run threat that the titans were wanting Calico to be.
  13. I personally think Steve McNair is one of the best players to ever play in the NFL. But I also think that maybe he should retire. His style of play has caused him to stay injured and is keeping him off the field and I don't believe that he can get through one more whole season with out injuries causing him to miss 4 or 5 games in every season. I think Volek looks like a better NFL starter than half of the starting QB's in the NFL. I think it is time for Volek to be given an opportunity to start. Also, Volek has that pocket type style that will help him to play 6 or 7 more years than McNair. Like I said, I love McNair. But I think that if he sticks around for 2 or 3 more years, he will not stay healthy enough to finish each season, thereby hurting the team more and resulting in mediocre to bad seasons. I think we've seen the best of McNair and he won't reach that level again in his career. McNair is a battered warrior and I think its in his best interest to leave the game or stay as a back-up.(that really sounds crazy, huh?)
  14. well, its not up to a committee. A players high school coach must nominate him for him to be elegible. Maryville, Melrose, and Riverdale's coaches I am sure just did not nominate their players. Thats why its pointless to even have the Coaches All State team
  15. I say they should do away with this coaches all-state team if they can only get a few of the coaches around the state to vote. Its pointless if all the coaches from the top teams don't nominate their top players.
  16. i would think vanderbilt could really use Johnson and Rogers. But if they've been offered a scholarship to UT, how could they turn it down?
  17. Do I know you? you must have an idea of who I am by now, since we frequent the same topics.
  18. anyone got stats on Micah, and the other top players for coffee co.? spry, marcrom, davidson, webster?
  19. thumb I'm on the band wagon, he probably did as good a job with Garcia as anyone else in the country could. Garcia will probably be on an NBA team's starting 5 next year.
  20. Every Columbia team I have seen has been far more atheletic than any team in District 8. They always seem to have guys on that team that are going off to play college b-ball or even big time football. They get the atheletes in that school to join that basketball team year in and year out. How do they compare with the teams of years past?
  21. What positions do these 2 gallatin players play? Can you give some of the vitals?(size, speed, etc...) And Ingham, he has a scholarship offer from UT? please give info on him if you have it.
  22. Please post information on where Mid-state players will be playing college ball. Also, who is getting recruited from where. thanx.
