  1. I'm not going anywhere. As long as Maryville stays in their 4A comfort zone and chooses not to move up a class as other schools with smaller enrollments have done, then I'm going to still be on here blasting them. If you don't like it, then don't read my posts!
  2. Pride of Dixie, You and your stupid post are a freaking joke!! Truth is, Maryville's administration is scared to move up to 5A and play O.R., D-B, and Riverdale in games that count! And yeah, I KNOW you don't know what you're talking about!
  3. Then why didn't they move up and prove it! !

    Carl Stewart

And UT didn't think Stewart could play RB for them? If he's good enough for Auburn, then he's dang sure good enough for UT.
  5. If Maryville had moved up to 5A where they belong, we could have possibly seen this matchup. But, of course, we all know that didn't happen! Wonder why, Jerry T and George Q?
  6. I thought the James kid was only a junior?
  7. Whether Riverdale would beat Maryville is irrelevant because Maryville didn't have the guts to move up to 5A. That's the only way we would know for sure who's better!
  8. By the way, why did Ravenwood and Independence move up to 5A when they have nearly brand new schools and their enrollments fell into 4A? Just curious.
  9. What's gutsy is all those 3A schools moving up to 4A. Some of their enrollments are 100-200 students below the 4A cutoff, but they weren't scared. None of them are even 3A powerhouses. Now Maryville, on the other hand, well, ask George Q. and Jerry T. why they don't want to play in 5A.
  10. I could have told you Maryville wouldn't move up. They don't want to have to play OR, D-B, or Riverdale in any game that counts!
  11. Do you have Mt. Juliet's Freshman team schedule that you could post? Thanks.
  12. Travel shouldn't be an issue on whether Maryville jumps up to 5A. Farragut, Oak Ridge, D-B, the Chattanooga 5A schools all have to travel to play teams in their region. Heck, even Heritage and WB in Blount Co. have to do it. If these schools have the money to do it, I know darn well that Maryville has it. If Maryville claims to have one of the best programs in TN(and they do have a great program), then prove it against the big boys and stop sitting in your 4A comfort zone playing Carter, Clinton, Hixson and teams like that!
  13. I wonder if the fact that a Maryville administrator (Lynn Brown), who is on the TSSAA board, contributed to the fact that Maryville was still classified as a 4A school and wasn't moved up? Hmm, just curious.
  14. P.S. I read that they were going to take the # of football-playing schools, which I think is 294, and divide by 5. Any other info?
  15. Does anyone know what the enrollment cutoffs are for 4A and 5A for football classifications for 2005-2009? I know the TSSAA will have it on their website next Tuesday, but does anyone know anything beforehand? Thanks.
  16. Who's the freshman QB for Wilson Central?

What is the TNPrepxtra Pigskin Preview? Is it the same thing as the high school FB section that the KNS puts out each year? Did it come out today?
  18. IF Maryville moves up to 5A, and it's a BIG IF, they will be very competitive and still very good. However, I don't think they will go to 4 Clinic Bowls over a 6-year period like they have in 4A. JMO.
  19. I don't believe I ever said Maryville would not be a competitive 5A team. I just don't believe they would dominate 5A like they do 4A football, especially when they get into the 2nd and 3rd round of the playoffs. I just don't think they would make it to the Clinic Bowl every year if they were in 5A.
  20. Who are all the new players that have moved to Maryville this year and are playing football at the middle and high schools? Are the boys from William Blount still at Maryville?
  21. When you're Maryville in 4A, it's a little easier beating a Greeneville, Hixson, Rhea Co., or a Halls twice in the same season than it would be to beat Riverdale, D-B, Jeff. Co., or Oak Ridge twice, especially when you have twice the number of players than most teams you play, and the players don't have to play both ways. We all know that playing D-B and Oak Ridge in scrimmages is not the same as a real game. As for the Maryville fans, I'm sure the majority would much rather see good, competitive games against the likes of Oak Ridge, Jeff. Co., D-B and teams of that ilk instead of seeing 40-0 and 50-10 blowouts all the time. However, dominating 4A like Maryville does, maybe the administration would like to stay there because it means more playoff home games, bigger gate, etc. It would be interesting to know how the Maryville coaches and administration feel about moving up a class. If Maryville's enrollment figures place them in 4A, we'll see if the powers that be have the guts to move up to 5A, or if they choose to remain in their comfort zone.
  22. Maryville may be scared to move up to 5A. They can dominate 4A football, especially when they play weak 4A teams from Upper East Tennessee and Chattanooga in the playoffs. However, if they had to play in 5A, they would have to play a strong 5A team from Middle TN (such as Riverdale) in the playoffs before they could reach the Clinic Bowl. We'll see if they want to stay where they are and continue to dominate, or if they want to move up to 5A and see how they stack up with other programs that have large rosters and comparable depth like they do.
