  1. O.K., What ever, How many of Central's "players" would be at Central if they were a "closed" zone? When Rule closed, where did the players go?
  2. Yeah, Must be tough coaching all those kids (athletes) from the lonsdale area (Note the sarcasm).
  3. If, and I mean a BIG IF, this is true it could be tougher than usual for the rebs. I have seen 48, he is not anywhere close to the same caliber as 32 or 25. If Melrose can bracket Maples and key 32, it may be a long night for the rebs. Mind you my little two cents is peppered with IF.
  4. I have never seen Maryville "adjust" their scheme from game to game. They are gonna do what they do, regardless. I heard zach had his mishap during the opening drive. Did he finish the game? Did he score while he was "injured"? He will play friday.
  5. If you knew his "day-job", you would say he is NOT earning his pay.
  6. What happened to the dude that moved from anderson county to O.S.H.S. ? Would he not be a more favorable selection?
  7. HTV, Do you really believe this or are you just naive? I can count on both hands, and probably both feet, "families" that have moved, or residences that have changed just to get a student-athlete into a favorable zone.
  8. Rebelman16..... County ordinance prohibits the display of the"stars n bars". I am offended.
  9. The community that S.D. pulls from is vast. Those kids do not start playing together until the ninth grade. The staff is never really sure what they are going to get until they "show - up".
  10. Many teams, including Maryville, would love to have this kid. He is right behind #32 & #25. He is a cut above #48.
  11. Rebel, what do you know about these teams?
  12. What happens if Halls wins and West Wins? What happens if Halls loses and West loses? What happens if Halls loses and West wins?
  13. (someone please read this to peppie) Peppie le Peux...... Let me be the first to apologize. I was not aware that you are not capable of reading words with more than four letters. Never did I say G.Q. was "shopping" around. I was referencing the burnette kid's dad. My previous thread was not a dig at maryville or the current coaching staff. My dig was/is at those whom: 1. Leave programs in search of greener pastures at the cost of long-time friends and ties.(normally at the request of parental units). 2. Quit to"concentrate" on other sports, again normally at the request of parental units. 3. Worst of all, quit to work. I do realize that people leave programs or quit due to reasons beyond their control so don't jump on that donkey. 2.
  14. So why don't we all do it? Yeah, let every swinging so-n-so take their kid to maryville or where ever. There is a thing called loyalty, let the "shopping around" take place on the college level. Let the kid learn something and do something on his own. If a kid is a D-1 prospect, no matter where he is, they will find him. I wonder if some of you would be O.K. with burnettes first choice - Central.
  15. Man! I've seem to have struck a nerve amongst the closet dwellers. Sorry, not trying to pass judgement on life styles. Iknow, I know, "what happens in maryville stays in maryville". My apologies peppie longstocking 16....., How is Maryvilles frosh, J.V. doing this year?
  16. Pepvol.... don't get your panties in a bunch!!! Some of these boys know carp, noyhing wrong with a little friendly teasing. Just worry about west and 4th place.
  17. Who was the last "wing-t" team that maryville played?
  18. I hope you learned your grammar at maryville and not halls.
  19. Cjones..... I did a little detective work and found out a few things. I have a bud who is somethin or ruther in the Halls community. His grand parents own a restaurant, and I think he may have coached at Halls. He doesn't remeber a jones with a 40 on the varsity squad( he was there from about 2000 to 2003). He said their may have been one on the frosh squad, but the frosh squads are usually 75% nosepickers anyway. When did you play? (varsity that is). Can the devils contain the desert fox?
  20. Hilarious! Contradict yourself don't ya BBALLER. Maybe if the entire junior class didn't tuck its tail and run to the basketball court, the football team would be able to run more than one formation. Basketball season is just around the corner, maybe coach webster will entertain suggestions from the wrestling team.
  21. No Lockwood isn't stupid, you are. If you could decifer the quote, oh illiterate one, you would comprehend that I was referring to the mere notion of lockwood considering to play. It is not his brains that I question, it is his bizalls. D1 or not he could still play. Todd Helton ring a bell?
  22. Not one time did I say that the program was better with one coach or another. I was merely reflecting the fact that Shephard would not have done much if anything different than coach julion has done. I am not attempting to be divisive on the subject. Some people think they have a monopoly on the facts. They are sadly mistaken.
  23. ZCAR...., You are not as much "in the know" as I thought you were. 1. I saw Don ward in the press box at Red Bank last year. 2. Justin Reese was in the HHS weight room before Gary Shephard left for C.A. 3. Lockwood wanted to comeback considering a few " only ifs...". He didn't want to be running the ball. And to the moron who said that Shephard wouldn't play young players...... Cox started two varsity games a frosh Vandegriff started two varsity games as a frosh Sharpe started varsity as a frosh Varner saw playing time as a frosh (Clinton) Trotter, Horner, Lankford all started as sophs
