  1. TSSAA headquarters is a Lebanon address, I think.
  2. Hey look at the good side! Another corrupt republican politician in Washington is gone. Oh, and at least Clinton was with a women and not a underage boy. Pedophilia, gay republican from Florida. I think I'll vacation in Alaska.
  3. Supreme Court has made many rulings on such manners, I'd have them in uniforms if I could! The "Rights" of students in high school is a very different conversation. Trying to draw comparisons between Civil Liberties of citizens and High School students isn't proper. More apples and oranges from the right.
  4. The right has a hard time understanding privacy and making logical comparisons...Your post is excellent proof of that!
  5. More spin from the right, trying to paint democracts/liberals as soft on terror etc...As I've stated: I just won't a paper trail that can prove the proper use of the program and make it difficult to abuse it for personal gain. Too much to ask I guess. Sure is easy to pile more and more mindless paper work on teachers to prove who is and who ain't (ignoring the fact that the 2 largest factors in student achievement are parents and student motivation), but ask that a little time be spent protecting civil liberties and the sanctity of the COnstitution....bah! humbug you can trust the government to do the right thing. THe same government that buys $500 hammers and spends money based on congressmens influence rather than need. I fear that the rights may one day get everything they want...and when they do, it will be all of us that suffer.
  6. White Co. and Tullahom are bonkers for not moving up. Gate from some of the schools they have to play has to be pathetic. There is no guarentee that they would join region 3. White Co. would probably be a lock, but Tullahoma might end up going with chatanooga or Williamson co. Either way, it would probably force a major alignment shift in middle tn. I also forgot that Mt Juliet will be coming up. That could push Region 4 to 9 teams without a change.
  7. 1)You can be no more absolutely certain of that I can be certain that Democracy will end. 2)Pentagon plans for wars with our allies and our enemies...everyone plans 3)I believe we can all agree that there are people within and outside the government who operate on a me first basis. To not attempt to check their ability to accumulate information and by extension power is negligent. 4)Lets hope you don't have to I would consider Roosevelt a strong example as well. The King Andrew characterization strikes a cord with the King George joke. I still consider it of the greatest concern that our response to most immediate diplomatic failuers is the use or threat of use of force. Pakistan should have called our bluff and exposed the Bush administrations threat sooner.
  8. Its not about equal coverage...its accepting the fact that the richer and then closer areas to the Tennessean's office are going to get more coverage. Accept it and get over it.
  9. Tennessean Media bias isn't just Williamson County: Here is the heirchy of coverage Private Schools in Williamson County Privates Schools in Metro Public SChools in Williamson County Publica Schools in Metro Riverdale now that Rankin is gone. Very simple why: Money. Circulation plays a part in who gets covered. Tennessean Coverage is at an alltime high. I like the expanded coverage and I'm happy that Tennessean recognized this need. I fully support there efforts, even though I know it means expanded coverage of the privates who have lots of money supporters.
  10. I don't consider the possible collapse of American Democracy and the loss of the freedoms we hold dear as "minute potential". Power centralized in the federal government and the office of president like never before or possible since Andrew Jackson. This should concern all citizens who value democracy and the American Way. I also find it amusing that every "liberal" agenda gets lumped onto me or anyone else that dares have an opinion that is not approved by the George Bush supporters, Republicans or conservatives.
  11. The example of government and individual abuse of any and everything is well documented...We say if, but it might already be happening. Who knows what kind of effect information gleaned could have on democracy, prices at the store etc...when one side is able to get an overwhelming information advantage. There is no doubt that gathering information and processing it is the key to thwarting terro attacks, I just don't see why Bush supporters are so willing to throw the constitution under the bus when all I want is a documented trail of when who and why wire-tapping takes place. I don't have a problem with Warrents being issued in a matter of minutes...Just really feel like we need solid documentation to curve or prevent abuse with warrentless wire taps. What is naive and not rational is to believe that the government deserves unmonitored trust and that Americans/businesses/parties won't be spied upon. J. Edgar's FBI did a great job of info gathering on American's back in the day. Its still going on....But thats just my opinion.
  12. So and So is a good athlete and Linebacker, I just wish he could tackle better b/c his missed tackles are causing them to lose games. Where does this fall? I didn't say he stunk, but it was critical.
  13. Protecting my child far outweighs abstract discussions of privacy and such. With a child the issue is worldly experience, understanding and properly responding to threats and of course the inability of a child to make rationed, mature decisions on a regular basis. I haven't read the rest of the thread but I imagine your going to shape this into some sort of pro wire-tapping commentary. apples and oranges.
  14. If everyone doesn't mind, let me try to articulate my basic premise for being against unwarrented wire tapping. Someone touched on Nixon, and that is a big part of it, but not an accurate example. The basic assumption of those that support the wire-tapping program is that it is/will be used to solely ID, Track, and Stop Terrorists and terrorist sympathizers. This is an amazing amount of trust (my opinion) to put into the government. The problem is the lack of accountablity to those running or with access to the program, and of course the problem of potentially invading the privacy of US citizens. This is the point that the "if" game starts to played. I don't trust a government structure that relies on the spoils system and opposition politics to determine who runs departments, committees, etc... within the government. Without a warrent those with power could very easily monitor those without and hide it within the program. Corporations with money could bribe to gain access to rivals within and without the US. Essentially the level of abuse that is possible far outweighs the negative effect of speed in response when using it to track terrorists.
  15. Nope. My wife would rather have her fingernails pulled than get on a computer.
  16. Great! They can listen to me talk with my wife about our little girl!
  17. Let me help the FBI out. I do not believe the Bush administration is capable of winning or even properly executing a war on anything. I believe that the military industrial complex is in collusion with the Oil industry and the Bush dynasty to create a world condition that promotes oil dependence and massive military budgets. I believe the Republican party has joined with this group to maintain power for the sake of power. I believe the interest of american citizens is a tiertiary concern to Bush and his people.
  18. The Week article about pentagon report on Iraq from last week
  19. Warren County wins this one big with an explosive offense and a steel curtain style defense! How about that support pioneer95 (whoever you are?)?
  20. We are in year 3 of the current alignment. Someone could easily look at the regions total record and total playoff record and determine who is best...
  21. And further...this is the problem with the Republican party. You equivolate my criticism of forgein policy to unpatriotic behavior. You and the GOP machine have spent the last 3+ years as painting anyone with an opinion not in line as some Radical Islamist lover. You and the GOP hawks are as dangerous as McCarthy ever was to the strength and freedom of this country. Embrace the critic as you embrace the....what was Bush's words??? decision maker or something like that?...if you truly chrerish democracy and freedom and desire this great country to continue and grow...welcome criticism...welcome people willing to question and not blindly follow...that is the path to fascism.
  22. Your still very good at attributing your prejudices about me in writing. I win a lot, just to be clear about it (I've also bounced White House around some). A "victory" over radical Islam will not be won by invading....As much as this will pain you to read....democracy isn't for everyone, but tyrrany without bounds is unacceptable.
  23. Are they the weakness b/c they are outmatched physically?
  24. Nice try, but you still spun your opinion into a bible quote in such a way as to suggest some biblical support for the roughshod way the US has attempted to run over the rest of the world. If the answer is more war then we need to start asking a different question.
