Vg I did not attend how about Humboldt's uniforms were they as bright as last year ? I hear your Cougars looked really good .

Check your facts I know since Craig has been at Humboldt they have played JCM in the jamboree. MIlan always plays a tough non-district schedule that seems to prep them for a deep run into the playoffs. I think the #1 factor in Milan's success is their asst. coaches. Before you Bulldogs fans start howling, Morris does a great jjob but he will tell you he has several asst. who could be head coaches 7aa placed 3 teams in Murphy's top 5 in aa that's strong. I hope one of our 7aa teams can bring home the Gold ball but Alcoa will be tough.

When do you scrimmage at home ?

Having players hurt in any kind of pre-season scrimmage is bad. I not sure Humboldt got much of a break with Southside. I am sure Coach Morris would be upset if he lost a couple of starters FRiday night. I am not a Humboldt fan but I do know they have played JCM several years in a row at the jamboree.

Sounds smart to me Coach Morris may not want JCM if next year if he loses 2 starters. Humboldt's uniforms were ugly last year maybe they toned them done some. BUt at least the school system can afford new uniforms at Humboldt and other Gibson Co. schools.

Milan has the best coaching staff and that tradition ! I would pick them 3rd or 4th pre-season but would not count them out by any stretch . Gibson Co. will have to win 5 region games to make the playoffs. That means they would have to beat Peabody and Dresden could happen,that means they would have to get 3 wins out of USJ,MIlan,Huntingdon,Humboldt or Westview games possible but not likley !

I hope the Pioneers are right in the thick of the playoff race! You have some good players and very good coaching staff,the bad news is so do all the other teams in your region.

I agree there could be several upsets! Dresden ,Peabodyand Gibson Co. as I stated will be better than a year ago. USJ could easily make the playoffs but seem to be younger than they have been in the last few years. MIlan is well coached and could wind up #1 in the region but seem to be a little behind Huntingdon and Westview early on , Humboldt returns several players and has a lot of team speed. Gibson Co.,Dresden and Peabody play hard but don't have the team speed of the other four teams {USJ has a winning tradition and always throw the ball well}I think after HUntingdon and Westview it will be a scramble for the last 2 playoff spots. But if Milan and HUmboldt win the games they should they will finish 3 and 4 . It should be a war every region game , I can't wait.

Gibson Co. has a good coach and seem to be turning things around . This year I think 3-7 4-6 is the best they can hope for however. In 7aa Westview and Huntingdon are the clear pre-season favorites with Milan,USJ and Humboldt fighting for the other 2 playoff spots. Dresden and Peabody will both be better than last year as will GC and could contend for 3rd or 4th. But my picks are 1.Westview2.Huntingdon3.Humboldt 4.Milan 5.USJ 6.Peabody7.Dresden 8.GC

Humboldt beats GC easy 10 or more . Union City will be closer than you think but UC wins.

Milan goals for 2004 ,state champs, ( that's not going to happen) region 7aa champs (nope) Gibson county champs ( finished third) . You have a great program and a lot of players I admire, just start showing other teams and towns a little more respect. Huntindon beat you again forget it and move on .

We agree ! I don't think USJ can line up and play with Milan ,Huntingdon,Humboldt,Westview every week not to mention the rest of the region. USJ has a top 1a program and will be competive in 7aa but the wek to week pounding and the amount of skilled athletes they will face WILL take its toll. Welcome to the big leagues.

I agree this looks like the SEC everybody will beat up on each other.

Man I bet the field at UTM will be sloppy , Milan and Westview fans who does this favor? It seems Milan's Blount would be well suited to a wet field. Both teams it seems to me favor a fast track. Westview throws better Milan's QB is a real threat running the football . The Guy vs Walker debate may not be a factor.
