  1. I don't think allowing 4 teams from each region in the play-offs is the problem. I still feel that football is for the kids. If more get exposure to play-offs then that is great. The problem is that some regions have 10 teams while others only have 5. The TSSAA needs to divide all the teams in a class equally. (For example take all the A teams in the state and divide that number by 8 regions. Start from the east or west and work your way across the state keeping all regions equal. Sure, some will have to travel for a game or two. Some teams are traveling 1 1/2 to 2 hours now anyways.) I do think it is a shame when you have teams that have 1 or 2 wins playing in the play-offs, while teams in a 10 team region with 5 wins are sitting at home watching. These teams didn't even get to schedule games, all were assigned but 1. That is the problem.

    dca vs w.c.

Wayne Co. has a very good athlete at QB. Ruddle is one of the best if he is healthy, which has been a big question mark all year. They also have two fast backs that they like to run veer with. If you make those backs run lateral instead of North and South, it is to your advantage. They hit the hole QUICK on the dive. They also have trouble handling the ball at times. (If they don't turn it over they are pretty good at the option). On defense, I don't think they are near as good as last season. They do have a very good linemen (#62 I think is his number). Their inside backers are not as good as the one they had last year, he was a MAN. They run basically a 4-4. Their secondary is questionable. If you can throw the ball, good things can happen. With that being said, I will say they have the potential to upset DCA if things go 100% their way and all are healthy. They can't turn the ball over at all if they want to win.

Just wondering who is playing in bowl game this week. Also wondering if there are any A or AA schools not playing in one. Know of a school looking for bowl game to play in.

    Cascade Game?

Who was the only player from Cornersville? (#7) Also, how did Cascade get players reinstated??? What were they suspended for?
  6. This is by far the best MP team in a long time. Just wondering how fast some of the players are. Like I said earlier, they have more athletic ability than anyone in the region has for a long time.
  7. I could keep CA's offense in check too, with the athletes MP has. Did you see it when Markease broke that long run. 3 tigers were running with him stride for stride. I know Markease can outrun the rest of his team by a long shot. (I also know that MP has faster kids than those 3 also) ATHLETES, ATHLETES, ATHLETES -watch out region 6.

    Region 6 Class A

Are there any good games this week in the region? Mt. Pleasant (2-0) at Cornersville (0-2) Collinwood (1-1) at Eagleville (2-1) Forrest (1-1) at Wayne Co. (2-0) Moore Co (0-2) at Columbia Academy (1-1) Huntland (1-1) at Cascade (2-0)
  9. If I remember right, the coaches picked Mt. Pleasant to finish in the top 2 in the region. They also picked CA to finish 9th out of 10 teams (Same as every year). That means that Mt. Pleasant should beat CA "BAD". Think about it a minute. You guys are talking smack about beating a team that the coaches in your region picked to finish ahead of Cornersville only. P.S. - by the way, the only year CA finished in the bottom 2 was motes first year (0-10), the school was 4-56 before he took over. Bet you can't name too many schools in the state that have done that, especially without any all-state, region mvp's, ect.
  10. Just curious how Stephenzca heard all these CA people talking at halftime, while he was also at the Columbia / Franklin game. You are also the same one who said Zion would beat CA. Why don't you stop trying to stir stuff up, sounds like you just don't like CA. I'm sure CA "thinks" they can hang with Mt. Pleasant. Every team generally thinks they have a chance before the game starts. We all know Mt. Pleasant is by far the better team. Not for sure anybody beats them this year in region play.
  11. Does anybody know where I can find rankings for this season. I know they are preseason, but just wondering? All I could find were last years season finals.

    Region 6 A

Games this week: Moore Co. - Eagleville (Only Region Game) Cascade - Watertown Collinwood - Loretta Cornersville - Perry Co. Forrest - Richland Huntland - Lookout Valley Wayne Co. - Lewis Co. Mt. Pleasant - Zion Christian Columbia Academy - Open (Played Zion this past Friday) The real games begin next week with the exception of Moore Co. vs. Eagleville. All the games after this week I believe are region games. What are everyones perdictions for this week?
  13. Can anybody tell me how the coaches predicted this region to unfold in Murfee Fair. Haven't seen it yet and was just wondering. I would say Mt. Pleasant vs. Wayne Co. for 1 and 2, Collinwood 3, Cascade 4, Chapel Hill 5, Moore Co. 6, Eagleville 7, Huntland 8, CA 9, and Cornersville 10.
  14. If CA recruits, they do a pretty poor job! Their school enrollment has dropped drastically the past few years. So has the number of players playing. They only have 25-30 players out this season. They do have a little talent in their freshmen class. They graduated 16 seniors last season off a team that only has 26 players. Looks like it could be a long year for the bulldogs this season.
  15. I was at the game also, and the reason I'm writing is to get the thread either reopened so everyone else who was there gets their chance to say what happened or delete the thread. Sportsmanship is the name of the game, and both teams did things last night in the boys and girls games that should be looked upon by administrations, parents, coaches, and kids. Be competive, but be sportsmanship like with what you do. I can give examples of both teams that I felt were offensive to me and embarassing to me as a member of one of the schools, but also was embarassing to me for the other school as well. Hopefully everyone will learn from mistakes, and learn that it is a GAME.
  16. If there is a multiplier, what do you think would be the cut off in football for Single A? AA? AAA? AAAA? AAAAA? Just currious as to which publics would move down from AA to A / AAA to AA - and which privates will move from A to AA / A to AAA / ect.
  17. Pujo - "Go get your trophies, as far as you are concerned they mean nothing." Apparently they mean a lot more to you than you think because that is the bottom line behind your comments. Anyways, look at things this way - Only two schools in the state of Tennessee are playing today for the single A championship. (There are alot of privates and publics not playing, so is it unfair to everyone?) Ten years from now you won't be able to name who the champion was unless you yourself were a part of the team or school, or your just a great historical fan. Let's all get along and play the game for what is was ment to be played - FUN!!!!
  18. Did SBEC use to compete in the Mississippi Private School Association? Just wondering.
  19. I know there are alot of off-season programs out there and you need to adapt them to your facilities and players, but what program have you found to be the best? BFS, Renegade Training for Football, Nebraska, other colleges, etc.?

    Coaching Jobs

I know it is still kind of early, but was wondering what head coaching jobs are open for sure? Also, what assistant jobs are open that people know about?
  21. CPA, DCA, Ezell all are in the top 10 and all are in the same region is my point. There are several other privates in the top 10, but all 3 of these are in the same region. Also, the state champion the past 2+ years has come from teams in this region. I just think this was a way to get only one school from these privates out of their first 2 or 3 rounds of the play-offs.
  22. One of the reasons I firmly believe the regions are grouped the way they are is because the TSSAA put all the privates of A in one region to hopefully prevent two privates from meeting each other in the play-offs. When they did it for single A they had to do basically the same thing for the rest of the state.
  23. I think in 1999, another team in region 6A - Columbia Academy went from two 0-10 seasons in a row (4-56 total in 6 years ) to posting a 8-2 regular season, then lost in the second round of the play-offs to Moore Co.

    JOB OPENINGS

What schools have already had coaches resign? What schools will be looking for coaches for the next season?
  25. I'm not trying to get a debate going about the private school vs. public school. Just wanted to know when the schools would be voting on the issue.
