  1. Conspiracy theory. I can promise you the TSSAA has all the information. The difference in this case is the benches did not clear and it was a small minority involved in fighting. Most of the players did not fight and were caught up in the middle of chaos. In addition, Shelbyville had 16 at home in quarantine, many starters included. The majority of players do not deserve to be penalized.
  2. I’m big on fairness. You bet! That’s my middle name. In this situation, which I have some inside knowledge of, both teams had players ejected correctly so. The officials turned in their report. Both schools filled out reports and submitted more self-imposed penalties for themselves. More players should and will miss this Friday night due to school imposed penalties...and that is fair!
  3. Well postseason punishment cannot happen in my mind because it would not be fair whatsoever. Not even close to fair. Shelbyville is in and could advance. Franklin County will likely not be in.
  4. Shelbyville will. Franklin County will not unless they pull a massive upset against Page Friday night.
  5. Yes they will self-impose penalties too. What’s your definition of the right thing? It’s subjective.
  6. We can agree to disagree. My wife’s in the health industry and I get all the precautions and protocols there. Social distancing (which should be referred to as physical distancing) is the most important thing I think, when we don’t know who is around us for a period of time. I’m fine if people wear masks when around people in those situations. My biggest thing is mandating masks at all times just out and about while social distancing. If a business wants to mandate them, no problem. I abide by the rules. If the government overreaches and mandates all the time at all places, that’s craziness! Now, all the studies are out about people passing the virus because of using a mask too long without washing them and also because they don’t wear them properly. That’s what happens when you have widespread mandates. Leave it up to personal responsibility and common sense like we do with other viruses. We know now beyond a shadow of a doubt this is not near as deadly as all the experts projected. Therefore, we all should live and live responsibly but not bow down to fear and panic.
  7. I agree. You were very fair through the whole process! Obviously, I don’t want to get in another huge back and forth about all this craziness. One question for you: do you truly believe the mask mandates are working? Second or third wave now. Italy and Germany, who had strict lockdowns and mask mandates, are now dealing with a big second wave...way worse than here! 90% of those infected here are saying they wear masks always around people, yet here we sit. It’s my stance that it doesn’t work much at all and the virus is gonna virus! It’s a false sense of security which is why many let their guard down unfortunately. What’s your take?
  8. He’s had Witten on from Elizabethton last year during the playoffs. They just don’t cover, discuss, or talk to any coaches from the private schools.
  9. It wasn’t a brawl...that’s the thing. It was more like a fight that broke out between some players. Many many players were not involved or even left the bench area.
  10. Gonna be a great one! Hendersonville by a field goal in a classic...24-21.
  11. Based on geography and past precedent, I think we can flip District 9 and 10.
  12. Definitely. I remember the Farragut game vividly and Indy led 28-0 I think and blew it! Had no business losing that game...they were the better team. A lot of crazy plays and some stupid decisions. I think they would have beaten Farragut in 9 out of 10 tries....but that’s sports for ya? That’s why we love it!
  13. Yep. That’s right...beat Sevier County. I had forgotten that. They should have won two straight!
  14. They lost actually. Blew a massive lead to Farragut in the second half. But I get your point.
  15. It started toward the end of the play and was on the far side too. Nothing major happen until after the whistles and flags.
  16. The honest question is can Warren County win at either Hendersonville or Mt. Juliet next week in the playoffs? I give them an outside shot, but it’s gonna be very tough with the experience, tradition, and annual success those two programs have.
  17. Understood. Would it save time to not have to clip it by stopping between plays? Just asking because I don’t have experience in this area. Just curious. Because I’m unsure why there is no good video too.
  18. So...as they film...would they cut off between plays to have straight-through game footage? That way it saves time in editing. I’m clueless on this process. I do know Hudl is plays only and no in-between.
  19. Agreed. If it’s the Shelbyville-Beech winner, those two will certainly have a lot of experience in tough, close games....even in the playoffs. The winner of that one will have some definite momentum.
  20. That would be the conspiracy theory. I think it’s pretty typical in reality but I’ve never filmed before. I think they cut between plays to save room on the video.
  21. True...but they get Hillwood first to get the dust off. Then, it’ll be the Page-Gallatin winner, likely Page.
  22. Game film cuts after each play. Doesn’t catch the aftermath.
