That was post MTSU and the BRO's. I hear brain cells can regenerate with time.

So the story goes in the early 1900's a circus came to town. An elephant some how trampeled a person to death. The elephant was sentenced to death and hung on the town square. Fact or myth I do not know. Just a story I have been told.

Unicoi has a tradition for baseball/softball, I can remember playing up there in the early ninties. They do love their baseball/softball. They don't care much for circus elephants though. I think it shows no class at all to refer to a group of teenage athletes as chokers. You are talking about kids out there working their tails off day in and day out to be the best that they can be. If they fall a little short of your expectations and loose a game they don't need to hear or read remarks like this. Please realize they are beating themselves up inside and do not need some adults beating them up on a message board. Let's talk about the game, it apparently was a great game to be a part of.

Umpires are assigned by TSSAA and cannot be from the association either team uses during the regulat season. If you worry about the umpires affecting the outcome of the game you are taking yourself out of the game mentally. I don't always agree with the calls but I do not believe I have witnessed a deliberate attempt to change the outcome of a game.

Greenbrier is a talented and well prepared team. Plays the game with class. Larry and Julie get the most out of their players. Hope we both advance on Friday.

Mr. Everything, I don't know who you are or where you are from but it is obvious you are pretty well struck on yourself by your screen name. East Robertson has every reason to be proud of their success this season. I don't see a lot of bragging by them just a lot of pride in their accomplishments. If you persist in your negative, sarcastic comments you migt find your posting privaleges come to an end.

I personally do not like "All Star" teams but they exsist. I think that the announcement of these teams before the season ends is a travisty. It can create issues within a team as well as give opponents bulletin board material. Parents are notorious for complaining about non-selection of their daughters. That being said this particular team has nomination and selection criteria. Coaches who are members can nominate and a commitee of members of the MTSCA select the teams. This is much more straight forward than the Tennessean or TSWA selection. Last year we got a call from the Tennessean. It seems they need another pitcher to fill out the roster. After being told who they had selected as pitchers we suggested Chelsea Owens of Lincoln County. The reporter didn't know who she was. This is after the reporter had watched the Worth and Border Battle finals. To me Ms. Owens was as tough a bird as there was out there and the reporter didn't pay enough attention to the game to know this fine lady had pitched two finals in possibly the most talented tournaments in Middle TN last year.

District meeting is Friday to decide schedule. I believe 3 plays 6 to decide who plays 2, and 4 plays 5 to decide who faces 1.

I asked for it using the screen name without realizing until someone pointed it out. I do like high school sports. It keeps a lot of kids in line and teaches discipline.
