You gotta give some credit to Shelbyville's defense. They played well, but Lincoln County couldn't throw it in the ocean.

Shelbyville handed it to the Lady Falcons last night 65-33. It was ugly all the way around for Lincoln County. I don't know what they ended up shooting, but I know for a fact they did not shoot better than 30% from the floor. The Lady Falcons have lost two in a row (Coffee Co, Shelbyville) and must take on a very good Franklin County team Friday night. I hope the Lady Falcons turn it around and decide they are ready to compete. The coaches can only do so much. They cant rebound or shoot free throws for them, sooner or later it's on the players shoulders.

First, congrats to Lawrence County on winning the game 68-63. Both teams played with alot of heart and alot of desire. Now...on to the refs who were the worst I have ever seen in 8-AAA basketball. The Lincoln County coach got a T early in the second half...one that was questionable, but no big deal. Late in the fourth, he got another T and was ejected. This was the worst technical I have ever seen given. He simply asked his assistant a question that the ref overheard and it got under his skin. This particular ref was camping out in front of the bench and was just waiting to hear something, anything! Now, I cannot blame the loss on the officials, I will never do that, but this was the worst officiating I have ever seen. The Lincoln County coach is now suspended for two games and has to pay a fine...for simply asking his assistant a question. And I can tell you for a fact that the question was not derogatory toward the official at all! Anyway, I just wanted to vent and I hope the head of officials takes a long look at the way some things are being handled by the officials. There are some really good officials out there, some that do a great job and you never know they are even in the gym, but there are others that would do us all a favor if they stayed at home and watched American Idol or did something else. Anyway, Go Falcons beat Coffee County!!!

Should be a good game. I think Shelbyville's size will get the best of Franklin County. I'll say SCHS wins 58-54.

Shelbyville beat Lincoln County 42-41 last night in what may have been the most boring game I have ever watched. Shelbyville jumped out 14-2 at the end of the first quarter but the Falcons battled back. The end of the game was a complete fiasco! LC had a shot at the game winning shot but missed it, but had it go in it would not have counted anyway, because a ref called an offensive foul on a player who was at the other end of the floor. Lincoln County did not play very well at all, but the refs in this game and the girls game were inconsistent at best! The Falcons have their work cut out for them now being 0-2 in the district. Two district lossed by a combined five points. Franklin County is next!

The refs did miss alot of calls and the no call of the travel at the end of the game did make a huge difference in the outcome of the game, but I think all of the Lady Falcons and the coaches will tell you that it never should have come to that point. Had the Lady Falcons took care of the basketball and not gotten careless (which Shelbyville had something to do with) they would have won the game. Lincoln County was the better team last night, but it didn't show it on the scoreboard, and thats where it counts. Oh...and the refs didn't get any better during the boys game either.

Great game last night. Shelbyville won 54-53 when a freshman hit a 3 at the buzzer to win the game. Lincoln Co. led 53-50 with about 3 mins to go, but couldn't put it away. The Lady Falcons played hard, but struggled near the end to get the ball across half court. Shelbyville cranked up the pressure defense and it worked. Should be a great re-match January 16th at Lincoln County.

Columbia at Lincoln County has been postponed until Monday night, February 13th at 6:30pm. Also Lincoln County at Ezell-Harding scheduled for Saturday Feb. 11 has been cancelled and will not be made up.

Congrats to the Tigerettes. Big win for them. Lincoln County just got beat in almost every phase of the game. The Lady Falcons knocked down 9 three pointers...and still got beat. Oh well...guess thats why they play em huh?

The Lincoln County home game with Giles County that was scheduled for Friday, December 16th has been moved to Glies County and will start at 6pm. The Lincoln County floor is being re-done and it will not be finished by game time Friday night. The game on February 17th between Lincoln County and Giles County will be played at Lincoln County.
