I think the oldest might be the Hillwodd Invitational. I think it started at Bellevue High before moving to Hillwood. Or it could be what is now the GP West Invitational. I believe Coach West had it at Maplewood, Whites Creek and Brentwood.

If we have to go with a random draw, I like the idea about drawing for each weight class. If we cannot get it implemented for this year, I will make sure it gets voted on at the state coaches' meeting in February. It seems like it would be more fair than the current system. We all know that whether you finish 1st or 4th in your region, there is nothing like getting that "first time experience" under your belt at state. I have had 14 state placers in my 8 years as a head coach and out of those 8, only 2 placed the first time they went to state. My point is that even though you may not "make noise" your first time to compete at state, the experience is immeasurable.

So far we have Sycamore, Rossview and David Lipscomb. Also, I have checked with TSSAA and this tournament does not count against your varsity dates.

I am the new coach at Sycamore. We have an overwhelming interest in Softball here and we have a full schedule of Varsity and JV games altready. We have enough inerest to fill a freshman team as well. Phil left Collierville and is teaching and coaching football and wrestling just outside of Knoxville. I believe it is a small school named Heritage.

No, I am not there anymore, but they have a powerhouse team coming back and I look for them to do well this year.
