  1. Cloudland looks better every week. If they can keep it going I beleave things in Roan Mtn will be all right. Jellico will play hard but the long trip up the mountain may be too much. Cloudland 38 Jellico 6
  2. I don't know where you were at last November, but I can tell you that it looked like someone else had was playing for Townsend last year against Trousdale. He didn't do anything all night long. Not saying he is not a very good running back, but come on and face it you have just got my vote for the dumbest post of the week. Townsend was holding them ribs in the third quarter from all the hitting he got, so maby this year looks better but last year in the 4th round playoff game he was shut down by a good coach who had his team ready for Adam.
  3. If Cosby is going to play like they did last night then it will be over in the first half. Now the big BUTT, does JC call off the dogs and be a good sport about it or does he try to get his team ready for a long playoff run this year. Pujo knows when your players are used to 1 half of ball, when quality teams from middle Tenn come to town or you go down I40 they are ready to play 4 qrarters of football. Good luck Bulldogs.
  4. Why don't you stay on your end of the county and we will keep our end healthy and see who comes out on top in a few weeks. I am proud of the Landers they kept on fighting and never gave up all night long. So what Prience Ave was on a different level, no one was hurt and with four region 1 games ahead who knows what can happen.
  5. We are playing Prince Avenue becouse Williamsburg back out of playing in Roan Mtn this year. Last year the landers came out a little slugish and didn't play well in the first half. The 2nd half was a different story, Cloudland came out and played good ball and poored it on Williamsburg. Williamsburg was supposed to have been the state runner up in 2004 so that was what I was told. Now Prience Ave, we will just have to see what they can do in the cold weather of Roan Mtn. Like I said in a post a page or so back, if we had the money wouldn't it have been nice to played Hoover, AL and been on ESPN 2 tonight at 8:00PM (LOL). Good luck Landers and please don't get anyone HURT!
  6. King you are right again, and it hurts to put that in words. I also like Keith and hope for the best, but he seems to be more like a assistant coach to me. Maby that is how I remember him but that is how it feels to me. We all need to be cheering for the Landers if we agree on the offensive play calling or not, who the coach is, or what ever the case may be. The fact is the players can still hear the croud and need all the support we can give. If the announcer is who I think he is, he's a really smart man, and knows Highlander football better then anyone else. Cloudland does have the band wagon appeal. When there Hot there hot, and the croud loves them and when there Not there not. Four or five years ago there were so many North Carolina tags in the parking lot it was hard to find a parking place. Avery County football stunk and everone was rideing the band wagon. King if you are who I think you are you wouldn't remember the assistant coach that was at Cloudland in 1995, the year of the 2nd round loss to Trousdale. If he had stayed he could have been the head coach a lot sooner than 2004. Someone said that he is one of the coaches at Oneida, so that is just a peace to ring your bell. So maby if Cloudland is looking for a new head coach maby they need to (Look outside the box) for something new. Remember a true fan will pull for there team if its going to be a 10-0 season or a 4-6 season.
  7. Anyone that would like to see Prince Avenue's roster can go to Maxprep.com and type in Peince Avenue and look at their roster they have some big guys, like pujo said. The big linemen is 6'8 350 and only in the 10th grade. They had a team form Ohio if I remember correctly to forfit on Sept 9th so something has to be up with the way they play. Hope noone gets hurt, they do sound like THUGS who can't make it in a regular school.
  8. I just got off the phone so I will finish. Like I was saying if Unaka plays like they did against Hampthon then Cosby 28, Unaka 6. Now if Unaka plays ball it could come down to the defense as to who wins this game. I was at the Unaka Hampton game so that is why I said that on paper Cosby looks better so Unaka had better play on their A game.
  9. They were supposed to play the team from KY but they pulled out. I didn't know that you could get by with playing 9 games. Well anyway my wife found where one of the coaches ran the ad on Maxx Prep looking for a game. I beleave that if they play as dirty as pujo says we would have been better off trying to get Hoover, AL to play us (LOL) at least if would have maby been the CSS game of the week.
  10. Pujo I know you were in Roan Mtn the night Cosby beat Cloudland, you would have thought they had won the State Championship. Going on and making their selves look like real winners, maby they won and it was an upset but if they need a medal there are plenty hanging in the halls of the Highlanders. As for the game against Unaka, if Cosbys offense is as good as what I read in the Star then it will be a big old mess on the Creek. Pf 222 and Pa 52 on paper they look better and if Unaka don't play any better then they did against Hampton it will be all up the Creek for Unaka. Coaby 28 Unaka 6
  11. If I was the coachs I would see how they are playing, if they are like pujo said then I would eather put my jv in or just call it and take the loss. I know you don't like to loose but some times you have look at the rest of the season. Cuda44069 made a good point, Cloudland has no business playing them but when you can't find anyone in your region to play some times you are forced to look at other teams to play. I posted a thought a few weeks ago, the TSSAA should make some kind of rule where teams in your area or region in say 2A,3A,or maby 4A should make an effort to play each other. Happy Valley, Johnson County, Unicoi, or maby Elizabethton, just to name a few.
  12. I was looking in the Knoxville paper yesterday at work and saw Cosbys qb listed 2nd in passing in east tenn, just something to remember. The Lowe twins looked good at Cloudland in the rain and I didn't get to see much passing but this stat says a lot for their passing game. Should be interesting!
  13. I agree with pujo, when your good everyone rides their coat tales and when their bad everyone is going to point fingers. The thing to remember is as Cloudland grows this season they are getting better. We will see what the open date did for their game. 2nd Highlander fans have to keep in mind that we have 5 more games and 4 of them are region games, and who knows what will happen. Upsets can come and go, so don't count anyone out, there is a lot of football left and the last of October is a few weeks away.
  14. Just to let you know, the coachs started moveing to the otherside in the 2nd round of playoffs in 2002 I think. We played Powell Valley (Cumberland Gap) now and their was some trouble early on in the year at Powell Valley when we played them at home so the coaches decided to make them here the croud becouse it can be really loud on that side of the field. After that game the coaches also said they could here each other better on the far side of the field, and the players could here the coaches better too so that is why the far side of the field is the place to be.
  15. You are right Bulldog with bite, if Unaka is going to get better then they have to step it up and play some better teams. Unaka plays their region games and Temple that is about it. I know Unaka remembers a few years back when they were 9-0 and going to come up to Roan Mtn and win the region and take it back to the (Creek), well we all know how that turned out. The best thing that Unaka can do is play better teams and get a little bigger over the summer, or just stick with Basketball. B-ball seems to work better on the (creek).
  16. 1st- It will all depend on how the landers practice these two weeks and use their week off to regroup. 2nd- I would say they will come out fired up becouse the games is at home and they play well at home. I will wait and come up with a score later on in the week. 3rd- I have been hearing that Jordan Hughes will be back in week 7, but I hope that if this is true the coaches will let him practice only and keep him out for the week 7 match-up with Prince Avenue, SC. The game doesn't mean anything and their is no use in getting him hurt, we need him for the Jellico, Unaka, Grace Christan, and Hampton games more then we need him in the game with Prince Avenue.
  17. 1st off I am going to say Hampton by 22 or 24 would say 21 but no kicking. Now not say that Adam isn't one of the best players in region 1, but it is a little early to be compairing region 1 players to region 3-4 players. Region 1 is weak face it. This year is different 3 out of 6 teams look good, and we hope Cloudland wakes up and improves or it will get ugly quick. As far as Adam playing at the next level you would have to know what the recruits are looking for, kick-off or punt returns I would say yes, defensive back is the ? not to say he can't play but his size will hurt him, I was watching the Colts@ Giants Monday. Don't know the names but #17 for the Giants cought a touchdown, he was 6-5 and the db was 5-10 so in Div III or for that matter DivII (5-6 just won't cut it) when you have a Wr at 6-0 or bigger it makes him hard to cover any way you look at it. Good luck tonight, and hope both teams have a injury-free game.
  18. I think that Prince Avenue has a 11 man team for the fall, and play 8 and a 5 man team in the winter and spring I think. Pujo said it best, Cloudland has to play 4A teams becouse no one will play them in the area. Several years ago they played Happy Valley, Johnson Co, and last year played a team from KY. I think that the TSSAA should make some kind of rule about playing teams closer to home. 3 or 4 years ago people would have packed the stands to watch Cloudland and Elizabethton go head to head, and see the Cyclones face the Hampton last year and this year. That is the only way you can stop 1A teams from playing the bigger 4A teams. Also before anyone says Johnson Co, and Elizabethton are big 4A schools the last time I checked both could play in 3A or smaller but choose to play in 4A.
  19. I am a Highlander fan, we are young and if they haven't improved this week it could get as ugly as most of the women on Stoney Creek (Unaka) that is. Now for Rangerbook06 you have counted your chickens before they hatched for 20 some years, so you may won't to wait on all the bashing on Cloudland and see what happens in week 8.
  20. I wish Cloudland would win region 1 but their is a lot of growing up to be done in Roan Mtn. After Friday night I would say that if Hampton don't watch it those Lowe brothers will run all over your defense. It was so muddy I couldn't see their numbers but one of them is very fast so Hamptons (superman) Townsend could be ran down by one or both of these guy's.
  21. Yon know it stinks when you have to agree with the King. Hampton was beat, slamed, and cast in the Doe river for fish food Friday. I have never seen so many Bulldogs running after getting in a Yellow Jackets nest. All of the bulldog fans were clearing out by the 4th quarter. I never saw a goose egg in the in my 45-16 guess. I at least thought Hampton would have scored one time. Never the less the greatest coaching show in 1A was in full force Friday night, and Hampton better take a good look at the tapes and learn a few things. Someone in this post or one of the other ones said that Hampton was to big and powerful for Trousdale, looks like big 77 will tell you something different, I saw him take a good lick in the head. Pojo made a real nice inpression on Trousdale's fans buy fighting with some people from Roan Mtn at halftime, (real classy) you told them didn't you pojo. Some said at work the ballgame was over in the first quarter, mabe so but at the end of half time when Hampton was comeing on the field did anyone else see the mascot for the bulldogs lay down in the endzone. He knew that it was over, and so did everyone else. I told one guy from Trousdale that if we had knowen it was going to be this bad then Hampton should have just met them in or around Knoxville and saved them a four and a half hour trip. Good luck in basketball and we will see you on Jan 13.
  22. I have been quite for a couple of days to rest, so here goes. You are right thair pojo, Mike couldn't get ur dunn 10 years ago and still can't get ur dunn now! I have said before he can't coach past region 2. Poor coaching beat Cloudland in 95, and bad play calling didn't help Hampton in 05. 2nd you talk about being mature on here how about half time Friday, you showed your true colors. I wasn't in the group that you had words with, but I was close and herd what was happening. Didn't I post on here early on that people from Roan Mtn don't like Mike and Friday just goes to show you that it will get worse before it gets better.
  23. Well let me tell you n2music,I never played football. I wouldn't play becouse of Lunsford. My graduating class was the 2nd largest class to graduate in Cloudland history (1996). I can name at least 7 people who would not play for Mike that year. I can also tell you that I know quit a few former players of his that don't like him and will not speak to him when they pass each other. One man from 1992 10-0 team wouldn't go to a game. Now you see more people coming to games who I haven't seen at a football game in years. He gave no respect and gets none back. He may have changed in the past couple of years, but I don't know. I have all the respect for J.C. and the Hampton Bulldogs they have had a great year. I just hate to see Lunsford make it to the state championship. Hampton is good but haven't played no one but Coalfield in the playoffs, Cloudland, Johnson County this year. Trousdale has played in a tuff region 4 and some inpressive non conference games this year. That will be the ball game for Hampton, Trousdale is too quick and coached to make any big mistakes this Friday.
  24. Don't let them dogs eat to much, remember speed KILLS.
  25. Does anyone from Trousdale know if the team is leaving on Thanksgiving day? If so are they staying close to Hampton, and if that is true where are they planning on running some worm up drills. I bet that if they called Cloudland they could use their field, wouldn't that make ol Lunsford proud to know that the team Hampton is playing Friday is using his old field.
