I would like to point out that only 15% of the Division I teams in the state are located in West TN (not including Memphis/Shelby Co. area). This could be one reason for the region not winning a whole bunch of state championships. I am not trying to make excuses for West TN, but facts are facts. We don't have a chance at winning the 5A championship, because we don't even have a 5A school. Also, we only have 7 schools that are in 4A, out of a total of 60. Basically, your observation, while true, is criticizing the region with the least number of teams for having the least number of state championships. I could have predicted that, without knowing a thing about Tennessee high school football. GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard that SS was going to hire a head coaching committee, which consists of about 6 members, to replace Hayes. This 6 member committe will mainly consist of people that can be found on the 50 yard line about 4 rows up during SS football games. GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!

I believe the kicker for Jackson South Side uses a square toe kicking shoe, but I am not sure where they got it from.

You are absolutely right. When SS played FW, we blitzed and sent people after the QB the entire first half, and pretty much dominated the game. BUT, when the 2nd half came along, the defensive scheme was more conservative and they put some points up on us. So, basicly if you want to beat FW, just pressure the QB the whole game. I love to see people get on here, and correct people's typos, especially when they spell something wrong themselves. Onto the topic at hand. I think it will be a good game, although I belive that Henry Co. is the favorite. Since it is Homecoming at SS, and I am a SS fan, my opinion is comletely biased. The private schools basketball teams haven't ever been any good either. Like I said, it is the same situation that Milan has/had.

That's the point I am attempting to make. You can go to any private school, if you foot the bill. Just like you could have gone to Milan, if you pay a small transfer fee. I just think it is funny for a Milan fan to ridicule a school for doing the exact same thing that Milan does/did. Also, the kids from Gibson County that go to private schools are probably not there for the atheletics, (unless they couldn't hack it in Milan, and went private to hopefully get some PT). I wouldn't pay that much money to send my kids to a private school in Jackson, so they could play sports, when Milan probably has the best atheletic department in West TN. I would have just transferred them to Milan, and used the money I saved to buy a new boat.

I love how Milan fans get on here and accuse private schools of recruiting, when they have been recruiting all of Gibson County for years. If you live anywhere in Gibson County, you can attend school at Milan and play football, basketball, etc.... That's why Milan sports dominate all the other high schools in Gibson County, because all the good atheletes go to Milan.

After the loss to JCS last week, SS should be ready to come out and play. I'm gonna say..... SS-27 McNairy-20 GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say..... 1. JCM 2. JCS 3. SS 4. Liberty 5. USJ 6. NS 7. TCA I think that Liberty and SS could probably be switched, but I am a SS fan so I put them ahead of Liberty.

I would also like to clarify something. This is last season score. USJ 7 Soutside 6. Southside should have won, BUT they didn't. SS also beat Lexington last year. And, Lexington beat Riverside 32 to 6. I'm not saying that the USJ team from last year would have won the 7-2A region, but they would have made a lot better showing than what this years team is going to do. Give 'em a couple of years, and let's see what happens. GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are going to talk about recruiting, what about these schools with special school districts? Almost every good athlete in Gibson County has gone to Milan in the past 10 years. It didn't matter if they were zoned for Humboldt, Trenton, or Gibson Co. If they could play ball, they could go to school in the Milan Special School district and play football. Don't hate on people for sending there kids to private schools. They feel that is what is best for there kids. It's their money and their kids, let them do what they want to with 'em. I would also like to say that USJ is definitely down this year. They were beaten pretty easily by a JCS team that just recently destroyed my Hawks(which are 3A). If JCS would have been moved to 2A this year instead of USJ they would have probably pulled a few upsets and made the playoffs. USJ is young, but in a year or two they will be back in they playoff hunt. I say...... Milan-35 USJ-7 GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the SS line on both sides of the ball will come off the line and pop somebody, I think SS will win. If they are as flat as they were the last two weeks, then McNairy will win it. I'm gonna say..... SS-21 MC-14 GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard yesterday that TSSAA overturned his suspension, and he will play. That info came from either Dan Reeves at 101.5 or someone on 96.5. I can't remember due to my head spinning from the escalating gas prices.
