  1. I got one word for u skipper, and I don't have any dogs in the race SCRIMMAGE
  2. It was a first scrimmage and it was very hot, when Sweetwater went up against tyner, they had just got through going 3-4 offensive series, and 3-4 defensive series against Mcminn co, then tyner came in fresh. Latham, and another starter were not there for the scrimmage at all, and when sweetwater went against tyner they had no starters playing in the backfield on offense, and on def, they had 2 starters out at cornerback(replaced by freshmen), and 2 starters at LB out, and 1 starter on the line out. So, don't take two much from that!
  3. Does anyone know if this game was played today, and if so what was the score? Also any details would be great!
  4. Sweetwater has an excellent team with great pitching, I think that Sarah Houser should definitly be added to this list!
  5. It's still early, but looks like it will be #1 Jeffery Moore. If so they will have a dangerous athlete that is a threat to score whenever he touches the ball, whether it be through the air, or on the ground. 6'2" 180 with a strong arm, and 4.4-4.5 speed.
  6. Sweetwater 3 - USJ 1. Good job Wildcats! Good luck with DCA tonight, and Brentwood A. saturday morning. A game at 8:00pm fri, then one at 9:00am will be tough, but we all know you can do it!
  7. Do you by any chance know the score of the Sweetwater - USJ game? I believe it was played after this game. Thanks.
  8. Can anyone tell me the score of the Sweetwater - USJ game?
  9. Sweetwater plays thur-sat. in this tournament, can anyone tell me where it's played, who the teams are in it, a schedule, and any info. on the teams involved? I know Sweetwater plays USJ, DCA, and Brentwood Academy. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Don't mean to interupt your argument acraze and oshs, but I think both are quality QB's, though I would probably give the node to Armes, but like I said both are verygood! Here is one more to add to the mix, that I think will compete for region honors, #1 Jeffery Moore the junior to be played wr, and kr last year, but should step up this year and take over at qb, to help the team. A little bigger and faster than both Whalen and Armes, an excellent scrambler and runner, with a strong arm, the only thing that will slow him down a little is experience, but should make up for that with his athletism and tallent! Qb is probably the hardest position to play with little experience, played a couple of games in jv and some in the 8th grade, but he is the type of player that can play many positions, and will be successful wherever he plays. He has D1 potential skills although it may be at another position. None the less wherever he plays watchout for a breakout season! Good luck to all! [Edited by cats1990 on 4-1-03 10:52P]
  11. I've heard Sweetwater is doing good this year, there schedule is not on coacht, I know I have heard about 4-5 games they have won, and there schedule on tssaa website said they played Gibbs earier in the year. Does anyone know the score of that game if it was played, and what there record is as of now, and also heard they went to S. Carolina or somewhere for a tournament this past week, if so how did they do? They were picked 4th ( I think not) in there region by the Chattanoogen, but they have already beat the team they picked to win the reg. (mcminn central) 11-1. They were young last year but tallented, so they should be pretty good if they are working hard, any info., would be great! Thanks.
  12. Shawn Davies of Sweetwater is excellent! He is the man!

    Loudon Football

Neither of them would've been in top 4 last year, but year in and year out loudon would challenge for a top 4 spot, but lc no! Sweetwater has beat Gatlinburg Pittman the last 2 years 27-0, and 27-6, and I believe GP was pretty successful against that region in the play-offs. I also believe Oliver Springs has played lc and won each of the last 2 years. That is a tough region no doubt, but so is 2-2a.

    Loudon Football

Thats funny, u are so close to tradition but you don't know what it is! Everyone can have a few down years, problem for you is that it won't last long, and loudon will be back to winning! First you need to learn to be a winner, and I can tell by the way you talk that you haven't learned yet! So let me drop down to your level and make a few comments. During your football career, if you played in youth league for long, you have lost alot more to Loudon and Sweetwater than you have won, and I wouldn't be bragging after a couple of years, because it won't last long, Traditions such as Loudon and Sweetwater, may have down years, but they don't last long. Instead of already bragging, you should be in the weightroom working on getting better, not running your mouth, you would be much better off that way! As always, looking forward to the jamboree in loudon and watching Sweetwater come in and dominate lc as they do every year, well atleast it doesn't count, if they played in regular season, it would be a big L for lc almost every year just like it is with Loudon. What is the series record between lc and Loudon? Work hard, and maybe someday lc can be in the same league with schools like Loudon and Sweetwater!
  15. 3-21. No.2 Chatt Christian and No.7 Sweetwater battle to a 1-1 tie.
  16. Tried to do this yesterday, but it wouldn't let me post it, so here goes. I don't know much about reg.1 this year. We play against them in the first round of the playoffs, and I think in each of the last two years reg.2 has swept reg.1. I think Hampton was the best team last year, and I don't think they lost that many, S. Green should be ok too, but as for GP coming in, I would have to make them the favorite, and it will deffinitly help reg.1. GP should compete every year, for region top dawg, the thing that I think is starting to effect GP, is Pigeon Forge high school is really starting to get going, and is taking some good athletes, that in the past would've attended GP. Sweetwater has played them the first game of the season each of the last two years, and while they were 27-6, and 27-0 wins, they had a very tough hard nosed football team, with verygood coaching! Good luck to all in 2003!
  17. Don't be so sure, Sweetwater has more than you realize coming back who started or saw playing time, plus several good athletes who should step-up and play a big role in 2003! They don't have alot of tallent in this years freshman class, but look out for the next 2 incoming freshman classes, they are loaded with some very tallented players. As for 2003. Yes they do have #21 D. Latham back, and we both know what he did. Also the receiver I asume you are talking about #1 J. Moore who scored on os in the playoffs. He will have a big role on the team, whether it be at Qb or Wb (option would be deadly), and cb, or s. on defense. Both are just juniors. Also someone who has been forgotten because of so many seniors last year to spilt time with #12 Jam ferguson if he works hard in the offseason this could be a big year for him! Starting cb on defense, as a sophmore I believe he had 12 ints. Very fast! Also heard J. Blair was coming back out for football, after not playing for a couple of years, if so he is another fast very tallented athlete! Several more soph. players who should step-up this year. As for the line, you have starting guards coming backs. #78 J. Burton 5'11" 285, #79 C. Meier 5'11" 280. Starting TE. #8 P. Mitchell 6'0" 210. Also a soph. who started at the beginning of the year but was injured #75 M. Couch 6'1" 230. Also #73 C. Tallent 6'2" 275 who saw alot of time. Players this year who if working hard this offseason should step up and be good Upton, Johnkins, Thompson, Bloomstorm, Melton, Moses, Moses, Fox, Whitehead, Burnette, Teegarden, Mccowan, and I'm sure I'm missing a few more. Yes they lost alot, but they still have a good team, wait and see! If the players work hard in the offseason, Sweetwater has a chance to reload this year, not rebuild, this coming from someone who knows, and or has coached many of these players, at one time or another, in one sport or another, they still have much tallant and heart on the team. Next year region race should be closer than ever, can't wait!
  18. Should be a great race as always, real close 1. Sweetwater still the team to beat 2. Wartburg 3. OS 4. Alcoa
  19. Sweetwater did have alot of seniors, but more of them were skill people than lineman. They have some good returning starters, and players who saw alot of playing time- #78 Jewel Burton 5'11" 280, #79 Chris Meier 5'11" 275, #8 Phillip Mitchell 5'11 215, #75 Michael Couch 6'2 230 (missed last half of season with knee injury), #51 David Moses 6' 215, #73 Corey Tallent 6'2 275, #60 Mathew Whitehead 6'5" 290 and some more who should step up, Sweetwater definitly lost some excellent talent, but they also have some key players returning on both sides of the ball, on the line, and in the backfield. I noticed several people predicting a down year after this season ended, mostly because of losing so many seniors, off a 2A team. while they deffinitly wont be as deep, don't expect a big drop-off in wins, this team still has alot of talent! Work hard now, because Championships are won in the offseason!
  20. Without a doubt junior to be #21 Dustin Latham Sweetwater! Also two more wildcats that should be ready to step up and have great seasons, if they work hard in the offseason are Junior #1 Jeffery Moore, and senior #12 Jam Ferguson. How bad do you want it?
  21. Wildcats, we are behind you 1000%. Everyone play hard, and go out and represent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- H2O 21 - OZ 6...........
  22. I agree with you in saying coach martin is an excellent coach, but lets really be honest, The coach is a big part of the equation, but not the only reason, they have alot of tallent, and this team is used to winning, and getting the job done, many have always been winners, not to mention the heart and effort they put into everything they do! There is nothing wrong with a little conductive cricism, sometimes it stops you from getting complacent, and not often, but sometimes, you can actully learn something from it! No coach is so good, that they can't learn anything, or get better, thats life. Nothing wrong with stating an opinion, even if it might make some people mad! I think they could be a little less predictible, I no they haven't needed to much, but they will. Throwing a little more on first down, will keep a good defense from stacking the box so much, don't have to be big gaines, more short passes, have your recievers take corners and safetys long, and drag TE, or reciver from other side of field across and underneath coverage, and roll out QB to that side, teach QB to tthrow the ball away, is the rule the same in highschool, if you are out of pocket, you can't get intential grounding, put that thing up in the stands, don't take a sack. Few teams can match sweetwaters skill people, find the mismatch, and take atvantage, of mismatches, don't use the same players in the same situations, and same plays. I am 100% behind the wildcats, and coach martain is great, but give credit to everyone, not onlyone. Nothing wrong with stating opinions, you don't have to listen,(though every once in a while you can learn something, and if nothing else, you can use it to get fired-up!!!!!!!!!! I'm proud of all the coaches and players, but don't always wear rosed colored glasses, even the great can learn, and get better!!!!!!!!
  23. The only question is when will Sweetwater call off the dogs(or should I say Cats)! If sweetwater comes out on a mission then it will get ugly quick, and alot of the cats will get playin time! Sweetwater 49 - SG 7
  24. I'm not sure of all those teams rankings, but I will say Sweetwater should definitly be in a state top 20! I have already heard all the arguments about depth and tallent, They could give anyone in the area and state a good game and would win most of them, including the ones you mentioned os91. I see them beating even some of the teams listed above them!
  25. Easy pizzaman, you make some points, but so does ramtough. There is nothing wrong with a little conductive cricism. Unless someone or some team is totally perfect, not just talking about the record, you can always learn, or if nothing else keep you thinking. Success is great, but you can always get better, the worst thing you can do is get complacive. Ramtough is right, they will have to step it up a notch in the play-offs. Yes they have a great offense, but they will have to be a little more unpredictable the deeper they make it in the play-offs. All players will have to take it up a notch. And I don't think this will bother the players that much, if anything it will make them play harder. When you get to where you can't listen to cricism, or someone else's opinion, then you are probably not being the best you can be. If you listen to all who speak, everything may not make sense, but this is a good way to learn and gain knowledge. When you achieve your goals, make new ones, never get complacent! They are starting to open it up, and they must do more so every week. I do agree on the QB thing. The only reason you havn't seen more of the other teams QB's is because they were all losing to Sweetwater! But even then, I think other teams have played back-ups more. They are living dangerously, and should have used there back-up QB more! I'm a sweetwater fan, and the cricism won't hurt you but it sure can inspire you, and make you work harder, and there is nothing wrong with that! go wildcats
