a lot of good players have fallen through the system at lincoln county over the years because of who thier parents were or were not and size of the donations made to the falcon club or not made.not saying anything else about it but the soph would be playing if their dads roles were reversed.

im sorry but the only game lincoln county will lose by 2 tds has already passed a couple weeks ago 49-0 riverdale.if lincoln co. plays smart they can win the rest on their defense which is much better than people think.i pick lc by at least 2 tds against oakland.

just like 2002 lc had no kicking game it kept them in the hole all night and gave franklin great field posistion .the falcons defense is very good to keep the game close as it was and have a shot to win in the end.got to find a punter or it will be a long year.

what adjustments ? i couldnt see anything different after the half either. as big d said the middle was open all night long lc didnt try to take advantage of it.when you are that deep in the playoffs playing a team you barely beat in the early season it would make sense to at least put in a few new wrinkles as rankin did for riverdale.id bet he could have taken lincoln co. and beat his riverdale team and probably anybody else in the state.plainly put lincoln county was out coached in this game tonight.congrats to all the srs for a great season but sometimes it takes more than super talent to win.when these seniors were sophs there was like 37 of them that year .makes ya wander what could have been if they could have been kept together as a team.again congrats to the ones that did stick it out hold your heads up high you had a great seasonand we all know it wasnt any of you guys calling the same plays time after time tonite,that was coming from somewhere on the sidelines.not bashing anyone but ny goodness if it doesnt work the first 10 times you run it then it aint gonna work no creativeness at all.

statman your right lc could not afford rankin.a year ago thomas would have been a landslide pick but current events might hurt his chances now.as for jay thompson not being ready yet dont you think it might be like blanche a few yrs ago when cooper retired he was still on the sidelines coaching for a yr or two as an advisor.lc can go after whoever they want but wih jays dad being who he is how could they go wrong?jay knows the system ,the kids, and the kids all like and respect him .just my opion tho.

if thompson does leave after this year dont ya figure another thompson will take his place?

Franklin Highs Tim Johnson hands down.Agreat job from a first year coach. Lincoln County should take notice and keep their eyes on him.Most coaches love the chance to go back home.

listen guys we have all had our say on this subject.its a dead horse so let it go.everyone on this thread needs to just drop it and move on to other topics.this is a great site that we all enjoy coming to and we need to keep it that way.i would like to know who guru is though since he knows so much about the team.anyway ive enjoyed the comments everyone has put on here whether good or bad but it is time to move on to new topics.everyone have a great rest of the week!

i had sworn off this topic but some will not let it die.guru you are a bit misinformed.the senior in question is and has been ready to play for weeks and is very unhappy with the situation.all 15 has ever wanted to do since pee-wee football was play for the falcons.sure his shoulder was hurt all his soph. year but he still managed to qb the jv team to 4 wins.after last season he had surgery to repair the damage by burton elrod the titans team dr.in spring practice he never got a snap at qb but was playing first defense at strong safety.edmiston was and rightfully the qb but 15 should have been given a look at backup spot.as for size and strength he worked hard in the weight room all last winter and summer thinking he was going to get to play.then fall comes around and again never a snap at qb,thompson told his jr. high coaches his shoulder was still messed up and could not throw which was an out and out lie.he did tell them he was doing great on defense at strong safety and led them to believe he would be the starter.thompson told the kids dad that he was doing great and would gets lots of playing time also just a week before the franklin game.really dont think kickoff and punt team is considered a lot of playing time.after the franklin game 15 went to thompson to talk about the situation.he was told he could watch tapes from camp to see why he wasnt played more and 15 asked why not watch the franklin tape and see how the strong safety played that night.he should at least have been given an opportunity to prove himself that night as the ss was in on maybe two plays at the most.the tapes dont lie.number 15 is not nor will he ever be a quitter there was not any opportunity for him at lincoln county to get to play.he has always been and will continue to be a winner in all he does sometimes you just need the chance to prove it.and guru since you all know who i am i dont have to say that 15 is my son and im still very proud of him and the decisions he has made.now for the last time lets let this rest as it does nobody any good to continue.

finally we agree on something. yes kelly should be starting should have been all season long.dont think they can deny him much longer.

same as it was in the franklin game.why have a power back if your not gonna use him on the goal line?

as i said earlier i am staying away by my choice not yours but my mouth will not be shut untill im ready to shut it.remember freedom of speech?and for your info lincoln county is not the only game around on friday nights.there are lots of quality teams that deserve supporting each week right in our backyards.

first off lets figure out who the idiot is here.if you cant tell by my post i have had a son go thru this system of thompsons and was very disapointed.and last of all i am no longer a falcon fan and i am very positive about that .another old saying it takes one to know one would apply here.

the first few years here at lincoln county he was revered just like coach bryant.people around here thought he could walk on water too.but the feelings have changed greatly in lincoln county the past few years.he like coach bryant has surrounded himself with great assistant coaches and won titles .now that they are gone so are the winning years we came to know.in my opinion and the opinion of others he no longer plays the best players all the time.too worried about how to play this mans son or this administrators son as has been evidenced this season.and myself i have never liked being lied to as has been done on more than one occasion this past year.no he is not the maker of good young men i think more the breaker of them unless you fit into his little click.i have had seveal post towards thompson the last few weeks but this is the last one.he just isnt worth my time and this isnt what this site should be about.i just hate it for all the jr. high kids he asked to come to lincoln county and after getting them there leading them on untill it was too late to play anywhere else.he took a lot out of their lives.

i still say he doesnt always play the best player he has available at all posititions he has to make room for so and so's kid.

No, the really bad thing is that there are better teams in other regions that do not even get to go to the playoffs. used to you had to win 7 games to go to a bowl.should be sometjing like that as a qualifier now.it would make for better playoff pairings.

I am not backing down from what I said earlier. If you weren't beating the 2-A and 3-A teams on your schedule, I'd be disappointed in you. You still have to beat LC to prove you are better. If you do, then so be it, if you don't, then what I said was true. I have looked at your schedule between now and week 10, and if the Jets are not 9 and 0 when they host Lincoln County on November 1, I will be disappointed as well. Franklin County came out tonight and wanted the game more than the Falcons and they took it. My hats off to coach Mantooth and his team, they deserved it. I'm not worried about Cumberland County at this point, there are 4 games between now and then.
