    8AAA

Chevyman, footballfanatic didn't make any slanderous remarks because he didn't mention any names. He also didn't specify that he was talking about last year's seniors. If your daughter doesn't apply to what he said then he probably wasn't talking about her.
  2. Since Coffee Co. won the regular season they get to go to the regions right?

    Region 3-5a

I really don't know enough about all the teams to give my own prediction, but I was just curious to see how everyone else sees it unfolding this year.
  4. Coach Price has at least one more offensive coach. He announced last night at the Quarterback Club meeting that Coach Breedon is going to stay on and coach quarterbacks and runningbacks.
  5. yeah, whats goin on? wish i could have gone.

    Dist. 8-AAA

Coffee Co. wins 1-0 in the first game and wins 3-2 in the second game!
  7. Your right, i think JPATS5 was mixed up with region 2. I don't really know enough about the other teams to make a good prediction, but I feel like Coffee Co. can have a better season than last year. Not that that means anything, because I seem to have that feeling every year, but mabey, just mabey this will be the one. We've got a good core group of players returning this year, including some young players who should have breakout seasons. The biggest question is probably the new coach. He comes from a successful Bradley Central program, and he is working the kids very hard in the weightroom. It will be interesting to see what happens this year. Go Big Red!

    Best courses?

Coffee Co. plays their home matches at Willowbrook in Manchester. It has to be one of the best public courses in the state and the greens are some of the best I've ever played.
  9. I have always thought Tullahoma's baseball facilities were top notch, especially for a high school.
  10. Danielle Catalano is the best high school pitcher I have ever seen. Her junior year she pitched two of the most memorable games in state tournament history against two other great high school pitchers, Karissa Lowery and Mandy Miles. She owns just about every record for pitching at Coffee County and is having a very good season this year at Lipscomb. Oh, and she's pretty hot too.
  11. Chris Elam is the best to ever play at Coffee County. Besides the stats that footballfanatic mentioned above, he also had over 100 yards on 10 carries in the Tennessee-Kentucky all-star game after his senior year, which I witnessed personally. He then went on to have success at Holmes Jr. College and then South Georgia. I wish he could have gotten the chance to play bigtime college ball, there's no telling where he'd be now.
  12. F.C. is 9-0 so far and C.C. is also playing well. This should be an exciting game.
  13. Rudy is my pick for the best football movie ever, but does anyone remember Johnny Be Good? It wasn't a great movie but it was pretty entertaining. I would have to say that Any Given Sunday is the worst movie of any kind I have ever seen. What was the deal with the guy's eyeball coming out, nerve and all!? How stupid can you get.
  14. What would you do if your kid broke the coffee table because he was playing football in the house? Would you say "awe, that's ok?" Well, that's not what would happen in the "good ole days." The kid should be punished for doing somthing stupid! I don't think anyone who would throw a helmet in a crowded room, where there is even the slightest chance it could hit someone, deserves to be a coach. There's just not enough common sense there!
  15. I hope you're right tdh. Comming out of Crossville with a W would be huge, 2-0 in the region! Keep the turnovers down and play catch!
  16. Are you saying that it was ok for him to throw a helmet because he was mad? This is a case of a grown man acting like a child. All the kid did was get hit in the head and get stiches, because his coach was mad! This situation is not setting a bad precident for the kids, it's setting a bad precident for the coach. Its just a very unfourtunate situation that should never have happened. I mean, if he just had to throw a helmet, he could have at least looked where he was throwing it first. [Edited by underpar on 9-17-02 12:51P] He was not mad, it was a planned act that coaches across the country do from time to time to fire up their team! I guess you would have to have experienced these things to understand! It is like being an actor in a play and someone getting hurt while doing a stunt! It is the same thing! This was not motivated by anger! The best way I can describe it is imagine you are sitting in a class and there is a planned activity that goes wrong. No one planned for the activity to go wrong, it just did and someone got hurt. that is all this was! Coaches are always looking for ways to motivate their teams and this has been an accepted method for many years. Maybe it isn't a great idea, but it is one that many coaches still use! Do coaches, yell at their teams, YES THEY DO! Can it be an effective method, YES IT CAN! Is it the best method, THAT DEPENDS UPON THE TEAM! Football is the closest thing to being in the ARMED SERVICES you can have in high school apart from ROTC. You experience the full gamete in football! Well, this "planned" act wasn't "planned" well enough! I'm sorry but stuff like that, in my opinion, only motivates the type people who would bang thier head agaist a wall to get pumped up. Go ahead and yell as loud as you want, but yell somthing meaningful and inspiring. My highschool coach once smashed a radio in the locker room before a game, but most of the players just thought it was pretty stupid.

  18. From what I have read about this I believe that this incident was a complete accident and that Coach Tidwell is very sorry. But I just don't understand why some coaches feel that they have to scream and throw things around in an elaborate display of anger to prove a point. They are either trying to get their players to listen and respond, in which case there are much more effective ways of doing so, or they just can't contain their anger, which would make them immature and not fit for coaching anyway. Although I don't think Coach Tidwell should be arrested for this, I also don't think the situation should be merely overlooked.
  19. 35-22. C.C. had five turnovers to Tullahoma's 1. If they don't hold onto the ball this week its going to be a long game.
  20. Tullahoma has quite a bit of speed, especially on defense. I think it will be a close game. I'll go out on a limb and predict a Tullahoma victory 24-21. [Edited by underpar on 9-16-02 10:31P]
  21. You were right I was wrong, ok. Not making excuses but you can't beat anyone with 5 turnovers. Tullahoma has a good team this year, this week should be a good game vs Hillsboro. Hopefully C.C. will bounce back against Cumberland Co., but even without a win on Friday I still believe C.C. will get 6 wins this year.
  22. Coffee Co. had too many turnovers (5). Yeah, I'm no Ms. Cleo.
  23. In light of tonight's L.C. game I think I'll take them to win the region. 1. Lincoln Co. 2. Cumberland Co. 3. Coffee Co. 4. Cookville 5. Franklin Co. 6. Warren Co.
