  1. D2 schools encompass (15 to 25 total teams)....D1 encopasses' a few more I think.....(you tell me country boys)....Recruiting?, I assume D2 recruits (but from my surroundings with the families), I think the majority of kids that attend D2 schools is because the parents want their children to get a better education and to keep them away from the potential of "trouble students" that public schools have more of. Granted, their are sooooooooo many awesome public school students and families...BUT, the privates are looking to stay away from the same heat you good people have chosen to face. Also, in the case of a say...MBA....your child will recieve the best collge prepatory that any school can give. SO....when it comes to ranking D2 vs. D1....there is no doubt that of the top 15 schools in the state....BY FAR the majority are from D2....this can not be argued... 2. That was very kind Chxian....My heart goes to you and your life in the fine city of Memphis, Tennessee....We are all in "this mess" together....I believe that although it is "messy"....OUR LOVE will come together to "like, rock the house"....BEST WISHES, your friend FRHS RULES. Sorry, I had not read what you left me in your last post (as far as the article was concerned)....you showed kindness and love, I expect your future is bright. GO IRISH, GO VOLS, GO TITANS, GO.....get another beer.....J.K. (somewhat) [Edited by frhsrules on 1-13-03 1:38A]
  3. I think you have done exceptional your last 2 or 3 games, but leading up to this you have been sporadic. I would love to cheer on you country folk "I think", but you have got to keep the big wheel turning...work hard and play hard....you may just be The Nashville Tennessean's "darlings" come late Feb., early March....GO IRISH
  4. I'm assuming you are indeed a Hutchison fan. In all my 758 years of attending The University of Tennessee, I met many awesome friends from that school....best wishes for you and your team....GO IRISH
  5. Good post Ole Times, we are dealing with young competitors, and when it comes to FRHS vs. HH, competiton level is raised so high. I wish (and believe) that this rivalry can become one of total respect....both teams deserve it...they are both very very good.
  6. good post fatkat, I agree with everything you said....and yes MBA deserved to win the match.....and I am very biased for FRHS. Oh, and it's not like you guys were horrible because you were not FRHS wrestelers (as a matter a fact as a team you were very impressive), it just so happens it looked like you were outhusseled at times. Keep your heads up, you have made many FRHS fans very proud this season.
  7. the HH coach is a pretty young woman....OH, I guess she coaches well also....Of course she coaches well, and she is probably a tough little BAD A--....but fact is Karen is a very pretty girl.....GO IRISH BEAT HH
  8. Ole Times you mentioned Allie in your post, I don't know this girl (I've seen her picture and of course she is cute), but I know she is an exceptional runner for the honeybears. The HH has tremendous team speed...I speculate that Allie spearheads the unit....I admire Harpeth Hall for this.......Hey Brownhut.....are you a Hutch fan?....I gotta know. P.S. Congrats to Nancy Sisk from HH for steping up......you are a great player....GO IRISH...you will win something special this year (region/state or both).
  9. Ole Times you are all right for an Ole Timer(although I suspect at the oldest you are a young HH dad)....Actually I am impressed that FRHS stayed as close as they did in this contest...I think FRHS is the better team yesterday, today and perhaps tomorow, but playing HH on their turf (when you are from FR) is not like easy or anything (intentionally trying to sound like an air head)....I talked with a couple of FRHS cheerleaders at MBA after the game ended, and they told me there were "a cabillion" HH students at the game. Sounds like a loud place to me...FRHS will do just fine, they lost to a great team who was fired up at their own place...I said it earlier in this thread (and you were right Ole Times about the lack of coverage) that the best game in the city would be FRHS vs. HH....Memphis, in one of these two I believe you have your beast....who will be your Knight? GO IRISH
  10. Thanks for the correction (Kieth Lee had an incredible inside presense) and I'm sorry I learned about Baskerville in this fashon (perhaps this was the best place to learn). When I was in 8th grade or perhaps a freshman at Ryan, my family and I cheered very hard for that MSU team. Anyhoo, I hear Harpeth Hall put the hurtin' on the beautiful LADY IRISH tonight in a 3 overtime game....SO, I think I have to update my top 5 due to this result: #1 THE HARPETH HALL, #2 FRHS, #3 ECS, #4 Briarcrest....and this time I think I will show respect for the underdog...#5..tie...Hutch vs. Webb....The Boro' will be fun in less than 2 months...this years' title is really up for grabs...If Memphis wins this one you kicked some serious boo-tay because I think Father Ryan or Harpeth Hall will win it all...
  11. I had wresteling lag from our loss to a very good MBA team (coached by a fine FRHS alum), so I stuck around and watched FRHS stick it to the Big Red down the stretch...I think the final had the Irish by 13 to 17 points.
  12. no "perfect storm"....I saw the wresteling match this evening....FRHS got out hussled by a very talented squad. Kudos to FRHS to going down to the last match 30-28 with a chance to win...Hiller took an early lead but fell behind 3-2 going into the last period. The MBA gym was rocking....at about the 1 minute mark of the final period, Hiller makes a move that looks to be a potential MATCH winner, Simpson however reverses Hiller to gain 2 more points and comes very close to the pin....at that point it was irrellevant...MBA earned a huge victory over FRHS with great hustle and a VERY fired up MBA crowd (the place was very loud). Then all the sudden I see all these other FRHS cheerleaders entering the picture and looking tired....I talked to them and FRHS lost at super tough place to play Harpeth Hall in 3 overtimes...there was solace as FRHS boys' spanked MBA in the basketball game. I saw a great wresteling match...I definately think FRHS can win state even though they lost...GO IRISH
  13. MBA seems to like to talk....now is they're chance...I think FRHS has a better team...But MBA spanked us last year....right now, you got to think MBA will do the same again....gotta admit, MBA started the season ranked in front of the IRISH....GO IRISH, PULL THE "UPSET"....I predict an FRHS WIN.....I also think that FRHS is starting a potential domination period over MBA in wresteling....just food for thought.
  14. You rock brownhut...Ole Times...you basically got it on the nose...I just like having fun, I do get respectful when need be, and I believe that being respectful should be deemed a blessing (because it shows respect for yourself). I wish I could go to the FRHS vs. The Mighty Harpeth Hall game tonight but I would have way too many butterflys....HH is that good...I'msetteling on MBA vs. FRHS in wresteling....this will be a very good one but I really think one of the games to watch in Nashville tonight is HH vs. Ryan...good players...good teams...heated rivalry...SMALL GYM...for you Memphians...think MSU vs. Georgetown when you had Clyde Lee and Co., that's the buzz on the floor tonight at HH. ....Well...... mabey at least you see my point...P.S. whatever happened to Baskerville Holmes? GO IRISH [Edited by frhsrules on 1-10-03 1:09A]
  15. If your talking about the Grizzlies pro team, here's a little story: The play by play television personality for the grizzlies went to Ryan with me (yeah I'm that old), anyhow, we got hooked up together to take two of the homecoming atendants out and were to escort them during halftime of the homecoming football game. Turns out I escorted the homecoming queen and your T.V. personality was with the runner-up. But let me say this about that, I've got stories on that guy that would get everyone in trouble...turns out he's doing well for himself...take care brownhut, we've got a lot of season left to talk smack, and FRHS has it's hands more than full at HH on friday (thier b-ball court is a high school version of (Duke's) Cameron Indoor...it's pretty cool...small and loud...oh, and I've been impressed with ECS lately...who knows?
  16. Many, many people who live outside of the west tennessee area often poke fun (with complete light-heartidness) that memphis is not even a city in tennessee due to it's geographical proximity and the huge influx of (especially) arkansas and mississippi natives. Most of these same people are COMPLETELY joking, and wish (like one would wish anyone in this world) memphians the best of luck physically and spiritually. I am one of these people. I can not take away the fact that you thought I was being serious during my post Brownhut. I hoped at the end of my post that you would see that I indeed respected your fine city. This however was not nearly the case. I therefore apolagize that there was any misinterpretation, and I dearly hope that this happens not one more time. Also....as far as myself taking things to seriously...this is the most serious I have been period (not just on this site) in a while. I discuss high school sports on this site not other worldy issues that I should not have to mention that evoke "serious" discussion. If I talk a little smack I expect you to come right back as long as we are having fun...tell me FRHS is the worst team in the state, just let me know your having fun...that is what I was trying to do in my last post, I intelligently admit that I touched a subject that perhaps was either too sensitive or one that I should have been more articulate discussing. I hope you now know a little more about me.
  17. For those who have complimented my alma matter, thank you, and best wishes for you and your teams.
  18. We always need luck....best wishes to you and your team....fRHS
  19. no post [Edited by frhsrules on 1-6-03 3:06A]
  20. I don't doubt that your top 4 teams are THE top 4....but you being from east Arkansas or northern Mississippi (whatever Memphis is) and myself from THE TRUE HEARTLAND, Nashville, let me offer my opinion. Sure, sure, sure (a quote from a beautiful Harpeth Hall student when I told her I would beat her in a recent road race (which I did)) O.K. the honeybears "only" beat St. Agnus by less than a cabillion....they did however destroy one of the top AAA teams in the state in riverdale earlier this season...they are loaded with team speed and great headiness....But, I really think Father Ryan has the potential to win the whole Kahunna. Losing to ECS when they just lost thier top player is easy to forgive....(lets put it to you this way brown whatever you are) if ECS lost thier best player before going to Nashville to play at FRHS (with a healthy Kristen Archie) guess a score....I'm sure you see the point.....Nashville is most happy to be able to communicate with you without telephone so here I go: 1. FRHS, 2. The Harpeth Hall, 3.Jada steps up, 4. The big E (and they are not easy), 5. Is it softball season yet? Oh, and by the way, I realize the great city of Memphis has much character.....So good luck to you brown whatever you are, and I'm sure I'll talk with you soon.....Go Titans
  21. The way I see it: Bradley and Mccallie are friggin awesome programs. I am from Father Ryan, and I think my school's wresteling program rocks....GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I love this site but the ranking formula is novelty. Take the moderators and vote for yourselves...I think that would be fun......so what if someone shoots you down, 90 percent of your patrons support you. I trust your overall opinion and then we will go from there....Your legit, step up, your ranking system is pathetic....your site however is very good....best wishes....and go irish P.S. do a coach t poll, no one knows who voted....and I have a feeling it would bring A: more interest to the site...and B....more harmony to the world (just kidding I forgot what B was)....Oh well, I hope you cheered for OSU because MIAMI -----!!!!!
  23. I would'nt mind seeing a FCS "upset"...however....Ezell by 15-20
  24. Father Ryan has one of the finest girl's teams in the state period. I think, with a little luck, the lady irish will compete for a region title. If they can get through that, and stay humble, they might actually get through a sectional game...............This team has potential to win D2 state...can they learn and improve in the next month and a half?....My guess is YES......GO IRISH [Edited by frhsrules on 12-31-02 1:21A]
  25. Congrats FRHS Girls, although I'm sure you are dissapointed with a 3rd place finish...you should have beaten 5-A #1....I think your team can become VERY STRONG....STAY TIGHT....GO IRISH
