  1. How is the softball team looking for next season?
  2. I do not know who Indian is talking about either, but chances are those kids were probably zoned Soddy-Daisy to begin with and had "just showed up" at Red Bank because they had a better program. And it is a shame what is about to happen with that 8th grade class from Loftis this year, that is unless a coaching change is made soon.
  3. Yeah, he sort of reminds me of Derek Dooley.
  4. Oh well, I'm not going to worry about it too much. It will be a few years until mine is in high school. I may just have to travel a little farther to see my nephews play. Somewhere like Baylor or Hixson. There is a pretty dog gone good 3 sport athlete going to be a freshman somewhere next year.
  5. There are good football players walking the halls or going elsewhere to play because of the INCOMPETENT COACHING ABILITY of those fine men trying (not because of lack of community support). There is a fine group of football players at Loftis right now in the 8th grade. They are headed somewhere. They would love to play for the Trojans, but rumor has it a couple may be headed to Baylor and a few to Hixson if changes are not made soon. I do not blame them one bit. I refuse to believe that Soddy-Daisy can't be competitive in football when they are competitive in just about every other sport that they participate, including bowling and skeet shooting. Furthermore, it is beyond just losing a football game. When you think you have to fight to prove something, then there is something very wrong. Unfortunately the kids have not been taught any better because some of the COACHING STAFF has been in fights. And yes it is past time the principal acts. This has been going on for more than one year.
  6. If something don't come out by Monday, it is time for a new principal.
  7. I agree. There have been more than one "scuffle" over the past 2 or 3 years with other teams. One that comes to mind is the Signal Mountain 7-7 fiasco. All along I thought the instigator was Price, but now I have to wonder. This is just pathetic. Soddy-Daisy is the laughing stock of the Chattanooga area.
  8. The Hixson coach has already been after some of those "borderline" athletes.
  9. What happened with less than 30 seconds to go in the first half pretty much proves the coaches do not have a clue.
  10. If the fans at SD have to start blaming the cheerleaders and band for losing a football game, then the "football" program is in worse shape than I ever imagined. SD don't need new coaches they need a new band director and cheerleading sponsor!! Come on people, the buck stops at the coaching staff (and possibly the administration).
  11. You do not know how many of those 3 and outs, pick 6's, etc would have turned into ball control TD's and running the clock. I don't know if it would have made that much difference either, but a GOOD coach should be able to recognize what gives his team the best CHANCE at winning. Edwards with the ball, considering what he did last year, was clearly the path to take (even out of the "I" more often I might add-a different subject) And what the heck is up with deciding 9 games into the season to play Edwards at linebacker? He looked pretty dog gone good out there. Yet again, if you are not going to work him more on offense throughout the year he should have been playing defense (more often) from game 1. It also still bugs me as to why Soddy-Daisy can have so many sports, both boys and girls, that are on a state competitive level and have two of the worst in the area in football and boys basketball. Something tells me the talent is at the school (or was) to have a much better football and boys basketball teams. It starts with coaching. Maybe next year. Too bad the coaches are not all Seniors!!
  12. Edwards should have had more touches throughout the year period. That is not "players executing".
  13. No wonder he was fired. Everybody knows if Brainerd is in Signal Mountain's zone, then north Alabama is in South Pittsburg's zone. Geeeez.
  14. I am totally convinced that humble pie must taste horrible and very difficult to swallow. Sequatchie, be careful of a warrantless and classless revenge trap.
  15. If the only defense of the coaches that you can come up with are: 1. They work real hard and 2. You can't do any better Then, the coaching must be pretty bad.
  16. It looks like if this is overturned like Signal Mountain thinks it will be, then all any football player has to do (at any failing school), even if they compete at their resident zoned school in the spring and things are not looking too good for that team, is file one of those fancy NCLB HCDE hardships, submit a different address than they started with and go play for Signal Mountain in the fall.
  17. "Now if I could just figger out which one of these boxes to check." This one? Nah This one? Yeah, let's go with this one. All done here. NEXT!!
  18. Somebody finally figured out that Edwards needs the ball in his hands early and OFTEN.
  19. So I guess after tonight this means that Sig Mtn is OFFICIALLY on paper according to the TSSAA 0 and 2.
  20. "I may be naive, but I don't think I am. I honestly do not Signal "recruits". " Troll, go ahead and count yourself as naive. I know for a fact that Price tried to get at least one student (football, baseball player) from another school to come to Signal Mountain. I am related to him. Others, be careful on the "recruit" thing especially when dealing with race. Due to "no child left behind" it is perfectly legal for students of certain failing schools to attend Signal Mountain.
  21. Rumor has it some of those Hamilton County cars during Signal week may be diverted and forced to park in the streets in front of those beautiful SP "dorms". Hope all you soccer mom's have your auto insurance premiums up to date. You better HOPE those are football player dorms. If so, at least they will be on the field during the game and not "admiring" those nice SUV's and minivans. Was there some weird parking issues on the mountain last year?
  22. So was this some sort of new mouth piece? Has he worn it in any of the other previous games? If so, were there penalties called in them?
  23. This is the worst team that has been up there in awhile. They have two chances at wins. Bradley and McMinn. Not sure if they will win either one of those. There does not seem to be any "want to" anywhere. No one seems to want to tackle or block. I am beginning to wonder if anyone wants to coach. Ooltewah and Oak Ridge will be capable of putting up 70+ if they want. The sad thing is it doesn't look like things will get any better in the next few years.
  24. This could very well be a good upset special for the week. Soddy-Daisy's defense is no where near what it was last year. Team speed is down from last year (if you can believe that) and unlike what I read by someone up this chain, I heard practice has been terrible this week. No motivation in spite of what the coaches are trying to do. Will they be ready tonight? I certainly hope so. Am I being too negative - I hope so. We will see. All I know is, if the Trojans aren't ready for tonight....it's gonna be a looong year.
