  1. What is going to be more exciting at the Topper Palace Saturday night in Johnson City: Wiggins' Greeneville Greene Devils vs. Wattad's Science Hill Hilltoppers (THE Game of the Year in Northeast Tennessee) or the Return of The Ol' Ball Coach, Steve Spurrier, who will be inducted into the Science Hill High School athletic hall of fame?
  2. Where is this chart you talk about. What about some more guys from Greeneville. Andy McCall and Randy King killed the defensive lineman from Morristown East and that lineman from Betsy is a joke. A sophomore beat him play after play, anybody looks good when they double team somebody. Ask Morristown West's D-Line about that right side of Greeneville's line. Oh Well it happens.
  3. Too much talk about West on this board. Maybe someone is forgetting that the game is won on the field and not on the internet. I guess Greeneville is too busy perparing for the game to surf the web and hang around all day. Well, I hope Greeneville can pull this one out this year. Both teams seem to be rebuiling this season but the young players have got all the experience that they need to play this game with no excuses. Greeneville is doing well, but I will say it is going to be one heck of a challenge to beat the Trojans wherever they are playing. It is tough to beat a team twice in a year, but West did dominate the first game. Greeneville has to give it everything they have to pull this one out and some adjustments on the defensive alignment wouldn't hurt against a power running team. GO DEVILS beat the trojans and do what has yet to be done. The Mean Green is hungry after last year's upset in the playoffs. Hopefully the field situation will be dealt with and they can actually play on a Friday night this time.
  4. First of all, you are cool. I just thought that someone needed to tell you that. And for future reference, learn how to spell when you are trying to make fun of someone. V-A-R-S-I-T-Y. Man didn't they teach you how to spell at whatever school you lay claim to. Anyway, Greeneville is holding down like Flint this year against teams in the East Tn area and have all the time in the world to prepare for the quality teams you haven't played yet that gave us a challenge. As for the visor, you got to look good to play good. His actions on the field show he can play and the visor makes no difference. You think the quarterback stinks? Maybe you should check the state record for touchdown receptions in a single season, 'cuz he set that last year as a junior. So, who stinks now. Hey, when you get some facts and get past a third grade literacy level, come holla back at me and we'll see if I can't shoot you down again. P.S. Mary is hot!
  5. Cheatham County Central has a blazing offense!! They will lay it to Waverly and come out victorious on the homecoming event.
  6. What about 'em Eagles? They are on a two game streak in games that really matter. They really showed that they can play against Murray State. That was step two to the OVC title. If they can keep up the intensity and stay away from key injuries, they have a good shot for the OVC championship this year. Get 'em Golden Eagles!
  7. gogreene really knows their stuff on the Devils, but their is one problem. My boy Shipley was left out as one of the defensive weapons. Shipley plays with an unmatched intensity, as do all of the Devils, and has excellent leadership on and off the field. But, hey I'm with you all the way. GO DEVILS! It's good to see that we are already proving the critics wrong. Big ol' Smith hopes that they go all the way. One more thing, NEVER forget about the O-Line. They make the offense work. A great running back once said,"I owe everything that I have acheived to God and the offensive line."

If anyone can get a hold of Benson and get him on here or be a mediator, some guys in greeneville would like to talk to him. Tell studly bag holder to get on here and talk a little bit Hey this wasn't written by the real Hardknocks41. Whoever is using my account, I really appreciate it, it shows class to steal off of a paying member. shell out the 12 bucks or register yourself. Thanks
  9. Mike Zeller from Greeneville. He has put all his teams in the playoffs and has had state contention every other year since his arrival. he knows how to coach, encourage, and prepare his soliders for battle on Friday night.
  10. How are they going to do this year? they started off kind of slow, but then again they did play two of the state's top contenders. I think with the big win over crockett, they may be able to spark a comeback. it is the region games that get you in the playoffs anyway and they are 1-0 right now. they lack experience and depth as always, but after a couple more games under their belt, the early season gitters will wear off and the exceptional coaching staff will whip them into playoff contenders. You can't keep the Greene Devils down, no matter how far they get pushed down, the spirit will always rise to the top. Remember my words in October cause those devils know how to play and work hard to win.
  11. I know that nobody is giving Greeneville a chance to make it out of the first round, and they might not, but if they are on, then they can play with ANYONE in the state.I am picking the underdogs, Greeneville wins the tourney. GO BIG GREENE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Hey DB fans, did you guys even bother reading the Kingsport paper? Your own writer said that Malone didn't walk but that he was actually fouled. Also, I was there and the Devils DID try to to shake hands after the game. The only reason you Kingsport people call Greeneville "cocky" is b/c you got beat in football and it hurt your feelings. Well get over it! You guys are just as cocky as we are. The point is, Greeneville got outplayed last night and I can admit it. But you want to know something else? Greeneville IS the better team and everyone of you tribe whiners are gonna see it at the BVH Dome. Go Big Greene!
  13. first off, they are called the duke crazies, not the cameron crazies. second, if the greeneville fans are anything at the basketball games like they were at the football games, which they will be, then they are the most rowdy student section around. nobody is gonna want to play in greeneville
  14. Greeneville should be pretty good this year. They lost one senior to graduation last year and he hardly ever played. All their pitchers are coming back some who have improved a lot since last year. They should be able to make a good showing in the state tourney. They probably have one of the best catchers in the state and a tough left side of the infield. Their outfield is quick with good arms.
  15. Science Hill will not be able to handle the Devils this season. They have never played in a gym full of rowdy fans who absolutely hate pans. Our cow bells are poised and ready for a good trouncing of them "good ol' boys." The JuJu is ready for you. [Edited by HardKnocks41 on 11-25-02 11:55A]
  16. First off this is not HardKnocks41. And second your wrong. Morristown West can not handle the wet conditions. They proved that last week when they fumbled 8 times against Betsy. We, Greeneville, proved we can handle any conditions. Doc is right. Not letting the game be played on Friday night is wrong. It is as clear as day in the TSSAA Handbook (Section III Article D)that what is being done is illegal. I realize that TSSAA may not be the most organized organization, but the fact is they are not following the rules they made before the season. If they can change the rules about this, why not everything else? What they are doing is telling everybody that the handbook is pointless because when something comes up, even if there is a rule in the book about it, they are going to make up another one to get around the first rule. Its pretty bad when West has to use their principal, who is also head of the TSSAA board, to allow their team to try to gain an advantage. All the West fans out there be prepared for the wrath of JuJu. Greeneville will always be ready so bring it on West! [Edited by HardKnocks41 on 11-22-02 9:05A]
  17. Hey truRebelPlaya what in the h---- are you talking about? I have no clue who you are or who you think you are but you don't want to mess with them Devils! We may be redneck but we are proud of our town and our culture in east TN. you are the rebels, tell me that isn't redneck. We are nasty this year and just because you are scared that a small 3-A team will spank ya'll this year doesn't mean you have to talk all this smack. Well in Greeneville we do our talking on the field with our pads and when and if you all make it far enough to play us this year we'll pop you all in that mouth you are so go at running, and hard too. Be ready for some tough blue collar football cause you white collar boys can't handle our men [Edited by HardKnocks41 on 10-2-02 11:12A]
  18. Devils all the way. they want it more than anyone else and have worked harder too. they show you something on the field.REBELS hope you're not from Maryville. they want them.
  19. Bench is nothing. Speed quickness and natural born skill is what gets you into a good school. I am a Sr and bench 290 myself I am 185 run only 4.8 and am not seriously being looked at. So bench is just a # which is blown up for scouts. It means nothing so me something on the field!
  20. What about 'em Devils! They have proved themselves throughout 5 weeks of football against 5 tough opponents. Still they haven't earned the respect that I feel that they deserve. They have an explosive offense powered by an air raid from QB Cody Baugh to his arsenal of receivers including Chase Greenway, Joe Watson, and Charlie Wilcox. It is further fueled by the power runner Thomas Lister who leads the ground attack and can be rested by a quick and shifty Micheal Lollar. And, hey, that O-Line ain't too shabby either;reguardless of their size, they pack a powerful punch for any defense that they line up against. Defense is the key word for the Devils and they have a lot to say for themselves. The new 3-5 defensive alignment has proved to be both effective and intimidating, surely a force to be recokoned with. Leading hitmen including returning all-state LB Spencer Mercer, hard hitting Daniel Crosby, and Matt Swecker plugging up the middle at ILB positions. John Lopez and Travis Collins add the pressure from DT and the secondary is spectaular, led by Joe Watson, Thomas Lister, and Chase Greenway. Special Teams could show some improvement, but the Devils are a team to do some damage on friday night. I'm sure I'll still be talking about them later on in the season and just want to say get H--- Devils!
