  1. It is coming a flood right now. Friday forecast during the day, mostly sunny mid 60's - Fri night most cloudy mid 40's
  2. Charger- everyone should come to Greenbrier once in their life. No better reason than a playoff game. Pigeon- the Bobcats look forward to meeting you.
  3. I think it's strange that all these words are wasted on this message board. We (most of the people here) aren't playing in the games. Region-smegion. It will all be said on the field and this beating each other with words is only for bragging rights. And bragging can get a little old and VERY annoying. Everyone needs to sit back and get a grip. Let the BOYS play ball.
  4. well, I attended school in Indiana (of course) but my wife attended attended school in and works in a nearby town close to where we live. Our kids go to school in our town and we all like it here. My wife never thought she'd see the day that she would root for the school my kids attend because her alma mater and this school have been decades-old rivals. BUT...whether we have a player or not, SHE has become a big supporter of our kids school. I have to say, I was amazed at how her classmates acted like she had betrayed them at her class reunion when she told them where our kids go to school. But mostly the ones that have never left that town. Funny thing that happened is my little boy was helping my wife blow up balloons for her reunion and he began looking at the colors of the balloons....he stopped and looked up and said "blowing up balloons with these colors is JUST WRONG"..
  5. Ran into a friend at the Kroger store and he asked if I had gone to the WH-Portland game last night (I opted to watch the Titans instead), and he, being a WH grad but having grown up in Portland was almost breathless as he told me it was the greatest game he has ever seen. I couldn't tell which one he was rooting for by his description of the game, but he ended with..."when I was in school here, White House was just an "almost" team...now they're "somebody". Good game guys..... Someday, Greenbrier will be right there with you...
  6. Dandy, that means alot coming from our neighbors in White House. That "pride" thing is contagious. The entire Greenbrier community couldn't be more proud of these guys for what they've accomplished. I know the phrase is used over and over, but these guys have literally played their hearts out, and have had just a taste of the future playoffs to come. While it would have been amazing to come out of nowhere and go all the way to the championship, I think we have something to build on and maybe next year it will happen. What a season to remember, Cats. Let's get ready for some basketball.
  7. Wish I could have been there....a point spread...wow. Greenbrier must have hung tough with Crockett cause this is the closest game they've had all year. Way to go Cats....we'll get em' next year
  8. Have sat here listening to what I could of the game on the internet and just wanted to say congratulations to Crockett County. After looking at your scores of this season, I am so proud of the Bobcats I could bust. It sounds as if they gave you a good run and have NOTHING to be but proud. They have gone further this year than ever before and staying as close as they did with the Cavaliers this year, I think the Bobcats will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years. Way to Go Bobcats! WE are ALL proud of you!
  9. Go get em' Bobcats. You CAN do it. We believe in you.
  10. Bobcat fans, let's take a road trip! Let's go down to Crockett County and bring this thing game back home.
  11. Wow...and I thought I was the only one! Coming to see ya, Crockett County! GO BOBCATS!
  12. Dandy, I asked a couple of times during the game if anyone had heard how the WH-Tullahoma game was going, but no one did. I was shocked to get home to find out the final score. On a happy note for our side of the ridge...Greenbrier is hanging in there for at least another week. Our blowout tonight couldn't have come at a better time. Sure has pumped up our spirits! Wish you all could have seen it...we were not the "same" team that lost to the Devils. What can I say other than "good game"? You and I (and hundreds of other people) know WH will bounce back.
  13. BDPNO1FAN, Thanks for the good wishes. Even though WH is usually our biggest challenge each year, when it comes down to the playoffs, it's good to be cheering FOR each other. The Blue Devils have our best wishes as well. The Bobcats have had a much improved season and we are very proud of them all. Their hard work is deserving of going past this first round for sure. It's been said before but this is a great group of kids that give it all they've got. They have what it takes to win tonight. Together, the Devils and the Cats can make "the Ridge" rumble tonight!
  14. Ahhh..come on Dandy...you can see a White House playoff EVERY ole year..you guys need bring that Rowdy Bunch over and make some noise for Greenbrier
  15. I trust that Greenbrier fans will pack the house tomorrow night! Let's go Bobcats! Get LOUD! [Edited by HoosierDaddy on 11-7-02 11:24P]
  16. Dandy, I am jumping on here and posting under my hubby's username. It appears the mystery of who you are has been solved...and just when I was going to buy a vowel! I graduated at WHHS back in the days when John Hall was the QB, but after reading that you graduated at HHS in 1974, I feel pretty sure you might know my cousin who was about that age at HHS..(first name Lorraine?). My husband and I are big football fans..and we have several connections to WH (and I am a business person in my old "stomping grounds" there) so I too am familiar with your son's name. I wish him well in his future endeavors in college. HoosierDaddy's "Other Half" [Edited by HoosierDaddy on 11-6-02 11:48P]
  17. NoDoubt..what area do you sit in at the Bobcats games? We MAY sit closeby.... [Edited by HoosierDaddy on 11-4-02 5:37P]
  18. Hey Dandy...my better half reads these posts too. Saw you graduated at HHS in 1974 and her cousin did too. She wondered if you last name starts with an "L". She said she knew a guy that was friends with her female cousin "L.B." (that lived on Happy Hollow Rd.) that had moved to WH and had a son that was on the football roster a couple of years ago. You must be famous...everybody's trying to figure out who you are (I know...you stand between the 45's on the WH side...but sorry, I try only to come to the Devil field once a year
  19. Believe me...I am well aware of the "beating" on each other. There's nothing better than "braggin rights" with a neighboring team (Springfield/Greenbrier, White House/Portland..or just mix and match.) With my better half being a WHHS grad and our kids being Bobcats, there is even teasing in our our household, but we've finally tamed her into rooting for the Cats. After all, it IS about the kids, not the adults (even though with some adults on here, it is hard to tell the difference) By the way, heard you were having trouble with the WH scoreboard...sorry if the freshmen Bobcats broke it when they beat WH freshman. We know after 20 years, it must have had a malfunction to show a Greenbrier win! Hopefully, it won't be the last time...we're getting BETTER!
  20. You know I'm just "pickin" at ya, Dandy. Here's hoping Sumner/Robertson make a winning statement in the playoffs! Good luck to all!
  21. Now Dandy...are you causing trouble again? You better watch out or those Green Wave fans or Buccanneer fans may come over and open a can of "whoopin" on your WH Blue Devils... Now that would be a game I'd come to see.
  22. Looking forward to Friday night as the Lexington Tigers will travel to our humble little town of Greenbrier to meet up with our 3A-Region 5 #2 seed Bobcats. For those Lexington fans seeking directions, directions to Greenbrier are relatively simple: Greenbrier is about 30 miles north of Nashville. The quickest and least confusing way to get to Greenbrier is to follow I-65N toward Louisville on the north side of Nashville. (If anyone has ever been to Rivergate Mall, it is in the same direction.) Go to Exit 98 which is the Springfield/Millersville exit and once you exit bear left at the end of the exit ramp. Turn left and go back under the interstate and IMMEDIATELY get into the RIGHT LANE for about 400 yards where you will see a ramp that bears RIGHT toward Ridgetop/Springfield. That will dump you onto a 4 lane highway That is Hwy 41 and there it no getting lost from there. You will go about 9 miles (after going up a steep ridge, passing through Ridgetop,) and then you will enter "The Home of the Bobcats"..Greenbrier. You will pass a Sonic Drivein on the right and within a mile you will see Greenbrier Middle School on your left. The football field is between Greenbrier Middle and Greenbrier High (which is not visible from the highway.) Parking is available behind the visitor stands or in either schools parking lots. Have a safe trip. We look forward to a great game. May the best team win! [Edited by HoosierDaddy on 11-3-02 10:24P]
