  2. Both are hilarious and add entertainment to the board. I enjoy mikescott baiting folks and trying to figure out sommers statements. Good luck to all this season and remember what Mr. Garrison said on South Park, "There are no stupid questions, there are just stupid people."
  3. Congrats to your son and to you on his championship last night. After a long wait, I feels great doesn't it! Good luck to you and yours in the future. I enjoyed reading your posts through the years.....most of the time! Chris Lewis CBHS (the team out West)

  8. Texas23, I agree with you.
  9. Actually, they split matches in a 24 hour period, unless you are talking about Ryan or Baylor.

  11. We come to Cleveland to wrestle great competition, and every year, we get that opportunity. Great tournament, great match with Soddy on Friday. Atmosphere was incredibe with the music, lights, crowd, etc. The teams did not disappoint with a knock-down drag out battle. Saturday, we all had to do it again. Soddy and Cleveland have great teams, coaches and wrestlers. I am glad that I have had the opportunity to get know Steve Henry when we were at Senior Nationals back in '07, what a great coach and friend, ditto with Eric Phillips, great coach, friend and competitor. The fact that we have developed a little rivalry between us being 400 miles away is awesome. Look forward to battling it out in the future. This weekend will mean little if all of us don't use it to get better and to learn from. What is the old saying, "Iron sharpens iron"? No one was State Tournament ready, and we will all gladly trade any win or loss that occurred to be on top in our respective divisions at the end, if any of the teams are so fortunate to be there. The one thing that I can say is that if CBHS, Soddy, Cleveland, and Ryan wrestle, the result would probably change every time. It is going to be a great year for Tennessee wrestling. Don't forget about Baylor and Bradley lurking in the weeds as well, as well as many other teams. The season is a marathon, not a sprint. Good luck to all this season!
  12. VHS/DVD player recorder will work just fine. Make sure that the machine will allow unto dub the VHS to DVD. After that, you can ripped the DVD to your computer, the program I am using to rip is magic DVD ripper, relatively cheap, and it will format it however you want. I am converting to mp4
  13. Well, Tex, it's hard to say, because, well you know, I don't know who is going to be on their team or what weight class they will be going. Later!
  14. Ok, should be a heckuva match! Wow, I feel better now, thanks Tex!
  15. The topic is preseason talk, not DI talk, so yes, it is up for discussion. And yes, whether it is DI or DII, most of us compete during the season against each other and we all want to win. We enjoy coming to the Chattanooga area and wrestling Soddy and Cleveland, because it is great competition. Cleveland has taken the last two from us and look forward to the challenge this year. We were fortunate versus Soddy last season. We have great respect for their programs and coaches. CBHS has every intention of competing with Baylor, Ryan, McCallie and MBA. It is never easy and always fun
  16. I am searching for video of the state champions matches from 1980-1990. Were these events broadcast? I am particularly looking for CBHS stuff as I am converting VHS to DVD, but anything would be great. I am not sure where to turn on this one. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I have uncovered the CBHS/McCallie semi-final from the first state Duals as well as the Ryan/McCallie finals, I believe it was 1988. Looking for Tom and Chris Marable finals, Anthony Moretta finals, Bill Erneste, Chris McAfee, and Troy Robertson among others. If you have any info, please let me know. Because TWF decided it would be better to focus on a Junior Duals team, more bang for the buck. So the Chattanooga wrestlers went their. We, CBHS and the West TN Takedown Club, focus on Greco and Freestyle, probably more then most other clubs. We took our kids to local tournaments, Oklahoma, Indiana, State Greco and Freestyle Tournament, and Southest Regional in Atlanta. A real freestyle and Greco season and schedule. We also have outstanding coaches that give their time freely, Brian Baucke and Garrett House, among others. That is why we have had more All-Americans at Nationals, Nick Marable, Daniel Baucke, Kaleb Baker and Tate Robinson twice. It is also why we have been in the state finals the last two years in Duals. It is just alot of kids, coaches, and parents putting in alot of work. Hope that answers you question.
