I don't think there is any question that Rockwood was that bad. The game reminded me of the BBS v. Notre Dame game. I think Cascade would have had no problem with Rockwood. I think I have been to every playoff game BBS has played since 1999 and Rockwood was the most inferior team BBS has played in that time, certainly that deep in the bracket. Rockwood had nothing.

You obviously aren't from East Tennessee or you would know that it is not "Mary ville". That is how Yankees say it. The proper pronunciation is Mur ville or Meer ville.

Most of South Pittsburg's players come from North Jackson County, Alabama. Go there any day classes are in session and see how many Alabama cars are parked there. It is a well known fact in the area that players move between those schools freely. One year they live with one parent in South Pitt and the next with Uncle Joe in Bridgeport. Alcoa and Maryville are open enrollment schools. A lot of their stars come from outside of their "zoned" area. Why is it that you think Alcoa and Maryville can build their tradition from "been there the whole time" students and a private school can't? Same ole' Antwan.

You have to understand that with these people, any is unacceptable.

Watch out. Those folks from Cloudville don't take to be reminded that their team just ain't what it once was.

Because I pay my taxes just like you. My kids have every right to play in the State sponsored, tax supported, system as your kids. If you don't want my kids playing in the State sponsored, tax supported program, give me back my tax money.

I am fortunate enough to get to be on the visitor's sideline for all of the Boyd home games, and have been for several years. I have seen teams from Copper Basin to Baylor to Knox Fulton to CPA. I have probably been on that sideline watching coaching staffs that have 8 or 10 state championships, at least. Smith County has one of the best coaching staffs I have ever seen. The head coach was excellent. He never wore a headset and he let his assistant coaches do their job. The defensive coordinator probably has a few less inches around his posterior this morning as the result of a couple of things the head coach didn't like, but they all did a very good job. It was an excellent football game. Great coaching, great players, great fans, and a great atmosphere. That is what high school is all about.

You won't find a post on here where I have berated, degraded or ridiculed a public school. I have never made a comment about their kids as being lazy, anticompetition, or whiners. I have never used a denigrating epithet about a player, a team, or a coach. I do think that the drive to institute a multiplier and to split the private schools from the public schools was, and continues to be, anticompetition. Your "middle schoolers should play in the NFL if they want competition" is simply not in line with any state athletic association, baseball (rookie, A, AA, AAA), college athletics, NFL, NASCAR, boxing, NBA, NHL, I could go on and on and on and on.

I think that is not accurate. The TSSAA may not receive all of it funding DIRECTLY from tax dollars, but it does receive some direct funding DIRECTLY from the State of Tennessee and indirectly from member schools that are funded with tax dollars. Again, to all of you anticompetition people, why should my kids be shut out of participating in State funded competition, simply because they go to a private school?

Why shouldn't my kids be able to compete for the same postseason titles? The State of Tennessee takes my tax money from me and then runs a secondary school athletic association. My kids have just as much right to compete as anyone else.

If one private school wins one state championship in football, the anticompetition crowd is going to call the multiplier a failure.
