Morristown East will show-up next week and give Maryville all we got. We may lose to Maryville 50-0 99 times out of 100, but that leaves 1 time. Too be the best you must play the best.

Guys, let get back to Morristown East vs DB on Friday night. What type of offense dose DB run? How big or are they fast on defense.Who are the players East must stop if they want to get a win Friday night? Just 2 more days to kickoff.

Morristown East will give DB all they want. We still haven't put 4 complete qty together. East's realies on their team speed. We spreaded teams out and pass or run based on how team defend us. Our Defense has been great all year. We really get after people with are speed and physical play. I really think having DB comming to Mo-Town will be just enought to get East to the 2nd round. I know most people think that it does matter who wins, because the winner plays Maryville.You must play the best to be the best. East is a Junior ladden team, with a win they will get their shot at Maryville. Their is no crime losing to Maryville because just about everyone does. I just think playing the best program in the state will play big for next year. At lease we will know how far we need togo to complete for the 6A crown.Let not worrier about Maryville just yet, We need to win Friday before that can happen.

why do you think the IMAC is weak this year? Normally we have 2 teams each year that can compete with SH for the IMAC title. The only different this year the 2 teams are Mo-East and SD. Why is that any different then region #1 or #3. It's DB or SH every year in region #1 and no-one has come close to Maryville. You need to be more concerned with SD this week. They run the football better then anyone in the IMAC, and we know how much trouble the bears have had stopping the run. SD could match the bears score for score, and they can play keep away. Remember the Bears beat Morristown East 14-10 and we had are QB playing with a broke finger. Sevier Co.new East couldn't pass the ball in the 2nd half and just staked the line. I know Morristown East would love to have another crack at Sevier Co. again, but someone will have to beat Maryville before that can happen. SD will give Sevier Co. all they want. If Sevier Co loses to SD and Morristown East beats Jeff Co. Sevier Co. would fall all the way down to 3rd in the IMAC and would have to play their 1st round playoff game on the road. Sevier Co. is the standard that the rest of the IMAC is shoting for. You guys need to win to keep the #2 seed in the playoff, and hope for a rematch with Maryville in the 3rd round.

Great game too watch Friday night. S-D by far is the 2nd team Morristown East has faced since Sevier County with real speed in the backfield. Number# 1 and #6 are really special players, they gave are defense trouble all night.Key to the game was how well Morristown East played in the 1st half. Turned S-D fumble into six points and was able to pass or run to a 21 point lead. S-D came back and score right after half time. then we have a bad pass and few miss blocks on are 1st prosition. We had to punt the ball back to S-D and they scoreagain.(great run by #6) East's get ball back and break-off 72 yard run to put us back up by 2 scores.(we miss the extra point-only up by 13) S-D gets ball back and take about the hole 4 qty to score again. S-D did get the ball back with around 1:30sec but they are not a passing team, so East was able to hold on. S-D can beat Sevier Co. with the way they rush the football.(Sevier Co has had trouble stopping the run all year) Only problem will be their pass defense, the gave up 2 long TD passes to East. If S-D dosen't play pass defense any better, Sevier Co. will be able to score at will. This game could turn into who has the ball last. As an Eastfan I hope you play Sevier Co. the same way you played East minus the turnover and missed pass coverage.A 3 way tie for 1st sound good to me.( East still must beat a very good Jeff. Co. team, who is fighting for their playoff life.) Good Luck to all teams above, let the cream come to the top.

I am really glad this game is in Morristown. We are starting to come around more on offense as far as passing game goes. East's Defense has played great all year, as long as we keep S-D from breaking any big plays, East sure be able to pull this one out. Let's have a full house Friday, Go Luck to both teams.

Were do you get off call me ignorant? I have been called alot of things, but ignorant is not one of them. I have been comming to East High football game for years, I thinks it started when Larry Smith was head coach, My opinion is just a opinion, I hope I didn't say anything that was hurtful, but in years past it always seemed that Morristown West was the bigger or stronger team. I am not talking about size, I talking about how players looked and played. We would have a few players every year that were faster or stronger then West, but East's overrall team was not. That is why we came really close a couple of years,but would come up short. You write very well and I agree with just about everyting that you have posted. I know the mental part of the game is important, but so is Offseaon workout. You are 100% correct on Matt Thompson comming to East over West. He told me himself that Coach Brown said" he would never play QB at West. They said" the would love to have him, but they were set at QB. Your statement that coach Hatcher would give him a shot is correct. You seem to have alot of inside information on the team. I really enjoy your post but, not everyone is as connected to the program as you. We only have what we hear, that is why it's an opinion not a fact. As an East fan I fell great ! we won this game because we were the more physical team and didn't make dumb mental mistakes we have in the past. I have to give coach Hatcher alot of credit for the turn around at Morristown East. The last few years I think Coach Hatcher was to hard headed to change what he was doing, because East's kepted making the playoff. After a 1-9 year in 2012 he new things had to change. He must have worked this team as hard as any team he has had in offseason workout. Because we are stronger and faster than we were last year. Also this team plays as a team, no finger pointing when their a bad play, they just keep playing. We have some big games still lifted on are schedule, but I fell this team is going to do something East high hasn't had in a long time, Finish 9-1 for the year and host a playoff game, They will need to keep getting better, because South Doyle and Jeff Co. will be hard games. I want everyone to pray for QB on Morristown West, It looked really bad on the tackle, when his knee poped, I hope he is all-right.

I am just wondering what offseason changes were made at Morristown East? Having to move up & play 6A playoff football could keep Morristown East out of the playoff for the next five years. We only won one game in 2012 playing mostly a 5A Football Schedule, What's going to happen when we have to play the big boys? Last year we had alot of underclassmen playing, but to win only one game is just sad. Their is enought talent on this team to at lease win 5 games this year. We had a very good Freshman football team last year, and some of those guys are really fast. That was one of the main problem last year, not enought speed & weak offensive line. I could tell we haven't worked as hard in the weightroom as in pass years. I am not on here to point the finger at the Coaches, but someone has to take the blame for our offensive line being so bad. They could'nt block anybody; when we needed just a yard. All year long the offensive line got pushed back. I really think a change must be made at that Coaching position. 2 year in a row we have had to change offense because our offensive line could,nt block. I just hope the team & the Coaches have spend more time in the weightroom than in the locker room durning 4 period weightlifting class.

Let's wait until the season is over. I think are freshman & JV teams haven't lost a game this year. So if coach hatcher oranother coach is a Morristown East next year, He will have some talent to work with. GO CANES!

East's moved the Football at times against a very good Fulton team, but they need more athlete on offense to helpMr. Thompson. East had the sweep on Fulton a couple of time if # 7 would have been running. It is going to be a very long year for Morristown East if Matt Thompson is the only athlete East's has. We need someone else to step-up, GO CANES!

I am a EastFan, As-far as I can tell, we have looked really bad at times this fall, & really good. Most Morristown Eastsupporter really don't know if we will have a good or bad team. We will find the answer come Saturday night vs a very good Fulton team. I just hope we will give Fulton a ball game, GO CANES!

Anyone got any information on Morristown East Football Team. I here Morristown West looked really good in both of their scrimmage.

You have notice East problem with getting the snap too. East only needs to complete enought passes so morristown west cannot stack the line of scrimmage. Morristown East must be the more physical team on both side of scrimmage. Morristown West is the favorite because East hasn't found a way to win one of these last 2 meeting. As a Eastfan, I think this game come down to coaching. Reg season game, Morristown East out-played Morristown West for most of the game. Give Mo-West credit for making the plays at the end.Coach Hatcher & his staff made some great defensive adjustment before that game. East was giving up 300 yards a game against the run, before the West game.The last six weeks Morristown East has played some great defense. We are really starting to hit people on both side of the football. The most physical team normally win in rematch games! 1)which coach, Brown or Hatcher is going to make the correct adjustment from the 1st game. For West- can they run the football better in this game? or will the need to pass more? East-will have to stop West from running the football, or it will be a long night. East's cannot afford costly turnovers(like QB center exchange) we need to hit just enought passes to keep Mo-west from stacking the line of scrimmage. #1 must run like he has the last few weeks. #1 use your speed on those sweeps, make one move & cut it up! Morristown East is due, They win by 7 GO CANES!

I fell for the whole Jeff County team for having to play a game after such a lost of 2 fine youngmen. As far as Morristown East being classless, I have to disagree. Morristown East started putting in 2nd string defensive players in the 2QTY. Jeff Co went right down the field & score. He put Ricker back in after the 2nd string QB fumble the snap & Jeff went on to score making it 41-24 with over 8-min to go in the 3rd QTY. It's easy to question when you do not know what's going on. We had Cherokee 48-28 with only 11 min togo and had to hang on for dear life. I think Jeff ketped fighting all night long, you take away some of your special team turnovers and this game is alot closer. I hope the patriot can regroup & get in the playoff.

This is by far the best we have looked on Defense all year. Holding Morristown West around 220 total yards for the hole game,say something about East's improvement in tackling.East Out-played West most of night. We just need to make a few more plays on offense.I know their was some perplexing personal foul calls on Morristown East durning west last drive.It's a shame that the last personal foul call on East no-one saw it.Give Morristown West credit for making the play at the end.I want to see this same effort from East the rest of season I want to give coach Hatcher & his staff credit for a great game plan. If Morristown East can play Defense like the did last night,they will make the 5A playoff. Who know,just maybe we can get another shot at West come playoff time. Canes Thanks for a great game!

As an Eastfan, I would say it's more to do with offseason workout. Morristown West does a better job of getting their players ready for the up-coming season. When you see Morristown West come on the field, they look a college team. Across the board, Morristown West offensive & Defensive line look bigger & stronger than East just about every year. Look at Morristown West Linebackers, everyone of them is cut-up with muscles. Whatever East's is doing in the weigthroom is not showing up in the players on the field. I think this is the reason Morristown East has trouble tackling.I want my canes to win, but we are so out man at alot of position. Maybe West will have the big head & over look my canes? I Hope my Canes can stay with Morristown West. We have been just terrible on defense all year, We have had trouble tackling all year. We will have no chance of winning against Morristown West, if we do not tackle. Ricker & Samual need to plays some defense next week. We need to move #18 to 1 corner & Samual to the other. Have #22 & #4 be our Free safety. This new line-up should help with run support & make us more Physical. We need Samual & #18 to play pressman coverage. We got to be physical with Morristown West or they will just eat us alive. Morristown East offense must be able to score some points on West Defense. It will be hard for East to score more than 21 points on West. So the only way East can win is getting a few turnover, Defense must finally stop someone,Offense must rushes for over 200 yards & keeps Morristown West offense off the field.You never know with young people, East could have a game like AE vs Alcoa. I think this could be the best Morristown West team Coach Brown has had. They look like a Coach Woods team of old. Great defense & very physical up front on both side of the ball. Mr. Lee is the the best QB coach Brown has had. This team has great chemistry & very good senior leadership. They could win the Whole thing in 5A football. Keep it going guys, you are making Morristown proud. Morristown East problem start with Team Chemistry & Leadership. East's is a little out man on both side of the ball this year. They have a few good players up-front, the just are not as good as what Morristown West has. The different in size of West & East offense & defense line has a lot to do with West 2-0 & East 0-2. This is where Leadership comes in. I know Coach Hatcher is work hard on fixing some of the problems East's has up front. That is why East has gone back to the Wing-T offense. Offense moved the football good last week & they final score some points. Everyone on this team must buy into some of the new changes on offense & defense. Team Chemistry comes from your best players doing what is best for the team not themself. We have seniors on this team question play calling & cussing out Coaches when thing don't go their way. Morristown East will never get back to winning until they get some leadership from the players. It's really easy to blame the coaches when things go bad, but some of the responsibility must fall on the players. How many mistakes did you make that cost your team a chance to win? Fumble snaps from center, missed extra points, terrible tackling just to name a few. The coaches & East's players must get on the same page soon or it's going to be a very long season.

I think Cody Ricker needs to let other players help him out. I agree we got some work to do as far as improving our offensive line play.I sure coach Hatcher has address this problem this week. some of our better lineman will have to play both-ways. Last Saturday night, Cody try to do to much. He predetermine that he was going to take off & run before the football was even snapped.Teams are going to key on him the rest of the year.To make teams pay for keying on him,he needs to give someone else the football.(My point is, when we run the option,9 time out of 10 cody keeps the football)East must get back to running an offense, not a one man trying to do everything. It's alot harder trying to stop a team than it is one player. GO CANES!

Morristown West looked pretty good today.They had Fulton on the ropes the hole game. you take away few of thoseearly turnover,and Morristown West would have won by more. We could'nt do anything on offense.Coach Hatcher said that last year problems on offense, was because Ricker got hurt and he had avery young team.I think we have alot more problems on offense than Coach Hatcher wants to ament.I really think the True Wing-T would help My canes on offense. Our personal upfront is having a hard time protecting Ricker when he try to pass.I know Coach Hatcher will get it fixed, because his offensive has allways score points.
