Those that have played at Mike Rose over the years know that the scoreboards have never worked. From what I've been told the original sponsor of the boards either backed out or folded before completion. The scoreboards are up and wired but the transformer was never put up. Yes they have had two or three working before but only with temporary power. They could probably do the same now but if they could not operate all boards for everyone they chose not to operate any. Have not heard or know when this might change or what it will take to put a transformer in.

Brentwood completely dominated especially the 2nd half but Smyrna won 1-0.

BGA wins 1-0 in sudden death. USN 3 Father Ryan 1.

Bryan Louder from Brentwood, if I'm not mistaken made the ODP National Pool team. Not only that, he led Brentwwod in scoring and just to show you how skewed the voting is failed to make the all district team, much less rookie of the year. I guess they figured Brentwood already had their allotment of players. When an injustice like this happens it cheapens these awards. ( Not to take anything away from anyone else ).

Just for the record, Columbia played Brentwood to a 0-0 first half tie before losing 3 - 0. There were at least two others but I can not recall the teams.

The move was at least in part due to all the negative letters and email complaining about the fields in Chattanooga. Those fields were for U12 not 16 - 18. It was a disgrace and embarrasing to have the state on those fields.

Is there anyone who has actually seen or played against some of the top goalies from across the state? I can appreciate players plugging their own but I have not seen one post with a legitimate comparison between someone from east, middle or west Tennessee. I would think between club and some of the high school teams traveling that this could be done.

I think at the higher seeds home field for the first round then at University School.

The coaches are meeting this morning to finalize the seedings.

I cannot believe we are spending this much time on a freshman who isn't even the best freshman in Nashville much less the state. I have seen Tyler play and he has a long way to go. He is extremely hesitant and undecided when coming out and tends to back away from onrushing strikers. Lets give the guy a break and see if he develops. There is still time. Besides that, the best freshman that I've seen is Corbin Walker, the Brentwood Academy back-up keeper to Tyler Trew. [Edited by TDJ85 on 5-1-03 5:50P]

Blocking pk's does not necessarily mean you are a good keeper. Yes, there is some skill and strategy involved, but the offensive player will always have the advantage.

Eastside...Right when people were starting to understand Fairview and relate to where you are coming from, you again make the same kind of post that made so many people on this board against you. Whether you believe it or not your crying about the refs shows your immaturity and reflects on your team and school.

Spinning the ball is not illegal but I've seen very few who can put spin on it and still come straight over the head. Even if they do it's not nearly as effective a throw in as coming straight over your head with power and no spin.

I was told that the first goal was one of 4 break aways and the second one was offsides. How is that the keepers fault?

Does that mean BA should have beat Centennial because their #1 defensive player missed the game? You win and lose with what you have. NO EXCUSES!

Ryan won 3-2. Good game. FRA was much better and more competitive than I expected them to be. Steve Walsh scored twice for Ryan. Ryan controlled the game but not by as much I thought they would.

Because of my job ( traveling ) I've seen everyone of the mentioned teams except CCS. Ridgeway and Lenoir City are easily the two best followed by FRA and Kingston. CPA is much weaker this year compared to past years. Just a fan though. I have no particular interest in any team.

titansfan05..........I understand your frustration but how do you explain BGA beating Centennial 4-0 and then BA beating BGA 2-1. You can play this out countless ways and it will never make sense.

Has anyone noticed the amount of bad throw-ins this year. Tennessee refs are absolutely not calling them. I've seen some with so much spin they are curving as much as six feet. Just wondered if the rest of the state has seen the same.

I think with the exception of CBHS there is a tremendous amount of parity in D-11. Especially after BA beat BGA and ND's loss. Should be interesting come tournament time.
