  1. Please post the DII brackets, East, Middle, and West when you know them!
  2. Here's a link to their results http://www.soccerinfo.com/cgi-bin/sicrtsc....der=w&Season=04
  3. Well, a pretty good team that was beaten by JPII last year in the state semis with mostly freshman. Keeper - Kelly Dyer, the first Memphis area player to be named to the U.S. Women's Under 15 National Soccer Team since Germantown High's Cindy Parlow. Not bad company.
  4. I think that's the point. Results are going to be different depending on the conditions, the team's mood, etc. I have no doubt that Baylor is very good, and I wasn't trying to imply that they're not. I'm pointing out that a Baylor 5-0 victory over Collierville when St. Agnes tied them is no more revelaing than the ECS results. If you REALLY want to see craziness in results, look at the AAA top 11 and their individual schedules. I see no evidence of ANYONE dominating.
  5. You're right that it's hard to tell, because St. Agnes beat ECS 3-0, a team Baylor tied. St. Agnes' wins over Hendersonville and Franklin look pretty good though. State tournament should be fun!!
  6. Take a look at http://www.soccerinfo.com/cgi-bin/sirkpt1....04&Rtype=1&S=01 and see who's won, lost, tied and against what competition. It looks REALLY wide open for DII. No one is dominating except for maybe St. Agnes.
  7. Hey coach, Though I'm now living in DC, I saw that no one had sent in the D2 West Brackets. Here are the links I've found for them Girls http://www.briarcrest.com/girls_region.html Boys http://www.briarcrest.com/boys_region.html
  8. Somehow I don't remember East and Merose getting beat by 40 or so points last year in the state tournament. Maybe my memory is failing me. Can you correct my research on those scores for me because that's not what I'm finding?
  9. If Bartlett is "most" then you're right, because it is the only team they've beaten above them in the CA poll. I agree that Bolton should be higher than Bartlett because of their victory, but Craigmont and Kirby have proven to be the cream of a dense crop, so far, in Shelby county AAA. But the two CA guys see a lot more area games than I do, maybe they know something about the Bartlett/Bolton game that I don't.
  10. It's funny that you rank Bolton 6th, while the Memphis Commercial Appeal in their January 15th poll has them 5th in Shelby county. GIRLS 1. CRAIGMONT 14-2 2. BRIARCREST 12-3 3. KIRBY 16-2 4. BARTLETT 14-2 5. BOLTON 12-4 6. CENTRAL 13-4 7. HAMILTON 11-4 8. MELROSE 13-5 9. RIDGEWAY 10-6 10. NORTHSIDE 13-4 11. OAKHAVEN 10-1 Rankings determined by preps reporters Jim Masilak and Jason Smith
  11. Briarcrest Blazes Nets in Victory Over Archbishop Molloy Briracrest (TN) connected on 60 percent from the field to hold off Archbishop Molloy (NY) 57-54 in the opening round of the Fifth Annual Beach Ball Holiday Invitational at the Myrtle Beach (SC) Convention Center. Briarcrest (7-2) appeared ready to walk away with an easy victory as the Lady Saints opened a 28-15 advantage at halftime. Archbishop Molloy (4-1) responded quickly at the start of the second half, using a 16-2 run in the opening 4:19 to take a 31-30 advantage. The Lady Stanners held three brief one-point leads, but could not gain a stronger advantage over the red hot shooting Lady Saints. Briarcrest, which connected on 9-of-15 from the field in each half, took its largest lead of the second half at 53-41 with 1:40 to play on Kristin Wooten's pair of free throws. Once again, Archbishop Molloy refused top go away as the Lady Stanners connected on a trio of treys to close the gap to 57-54 with just nine seconds remaining. Following a steal, the Lady Stanners' Rosalyn Gold-Onwude misfired on a 3-point attempt with one second remaining that could have knotted the score. Melissa Liebschwager led Briarcrest with 24 points, while Alliesha Easley, who was perfect on her eight field goal attempts, tallied 19 for the Lady Saints. Gold-Onwude led Archbishop Molloy with a game-high 27 points.
  12. Jackson County (TN) scored a 49-20 victory over Socastee (SC) in the opening round of the Fifth Annual Beach Ball Holiday Beach Classic at the Myrtle Beach (SC) Convention Center. In a low scoring and, for the most part, tightly contested first half, it was Jackson County (9-2) that pulled away. Leading 10-9 with 6:09 remaining in the opening half, the Lady Blue Devils closed the half with eight straight points to take an 18-9 lead at the break. Socastee (1-5), scoreless for the final 6:09 of the first half, did not connect on its first field goal in the second half until the clock showed just 3:39 to play on Christina Turek's jumper. While the Lady Braves connected on just 14.3 percent from the field in the second period, Jackson County connected on 8-of-15 (53.3%). The Lady Blue Devils were led by Marissa Hensley's double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Kristen McDaniel tallied 12 points to lead Socastee.
  13. From the Beach Ball Classic site Dreher (SC) Scores 68-45 Victory over Westview (TN) Dreher (SC) opened the Fifth Annual Beach Ball Holiday Classic with an impressive 68-45 victore over Westview (TN) on Friday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Dreher (7-0) led 27-20 at halftime before putting the game out of reach with 16-3 run to open the second frame. Westview (8-1) pulled no closer than 18 points the rest of the way as Dreher opened its biggest lead of 31 points at 63-32 with 5:48 remaining in the contest. Junior Keturah Jackson led the victorious Lady Blue Devils with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Lesley Gadson and Tiffany Sumpter added 16 points each for Dreher. Latoya Bellamy paced Westview with 14 points and eight rebounds.
  14. Wescharge, I didn't mean to offend by using "she". I had no idea of your sex by your posts, so I flipped a coin. Well, truthfully, I suppose it's a bit of gender stereotyping on my part, because you typically come across as shrill in your posts. Really now, you truly think JJ wouldn't have made a difference in the game last year? Maybe the outcome would have been the same, but I think Ridgeway would have come in more relaxed and confident. As far as coaching, the Ridgeway coach seemed not to be overmatched with her fresh/sophomore laden team in beating Jackson Co. and playing to within 10 of Shelbyville a couple of weeks ago. Good luck this year.
  15. IMHO: I'll do them by regions Reg. 7 1. Jackson Norhtside 2. Bolton 3. Bartlett (sorry Bartlett, I think Bolton's win over Houston was more impressive than yours. Good luck tonight) 4. Dyersburg 5. Millington 6. Cordova 7. JCM 8. Munford Hardin County (I haven't seen any results) Region 8 1. Craigmont 2. Kirby 3. Melrose 4. Houston 5. White Station 6. Ridgeway 7. Hamilton 8. Central 9. Northside (cupcake schedule) 10. Collierville 11. Wooddale 12. East 13. Whitehaven 14. Fairley 15. Overton 16. Germantown (poor Germantown!) D2 West (top 5) 1. Briarcrest 2. SBEC 3. St. Agnes 4. Harding/Hutchison
  16. hey Bob- I've been trying my best to get the Memphis area schedules loaded into the system. I haven't done Collierville because I figured you could take care of that. I have most of the D2 West large schools done and many of the small schools. Region 16 AAA is almost complete up until the mid-Jan. To anyone that could help, it would be appreciated.
  17. I moved to DC this past summer and luckily will be in town between xmas and New Years. I can't wait to see some girls' basketball games while in Memphis. Regarding other Tournaments, I know that Tipton-Rosemark Academy is hosting one at their home in Millingtonfrom Dec. 29-31. I'm not sure who is playing though. Please read WesCharge's posts with a grain of salt. She always seems very negative regarding anything outside of her immediate area. I'm not sure why. Her team was fun to watch last year when they came to the MidSouth Coliseum.
  18. Here's the Memphis Commercial Appeal's weekly top 12. The paper includes teams from Shelby, Tipton, and Fayette Counties in West Tennessee, Desoto County in NW Miss., and Crittenden County in East Arkansas. GIRLS 1. CRAIGMONT 2. BRIARCREST 3. BOLTON 4. CENTRAL 5. KIRBY 6. BARTLETT 7. RIDGEWAY 8. MELROSE 9. WEST MEMPHIS 10. HAMILTON 11. NORTHSIDE 12. EAST
  19. Gresh Gorman of SBEC is certainly the most fun to watch. In D2W there are so many young, new, and untested faces that picking the best or most valuable to their team is too hard. Y'all help me: SBEC - definitely Gresh Gorman and Brittany Barbee Briarcrest - Alliesha Easley and Liebschwager but neither have had to lead the team yet. ECS - ?? Harding - ?? Hutchison - probably Alison Humphreys St. Agnes - Staten Spencer?? St. Benedict - ? St. Mary's - ? IC - I think they are lead by a pair of freshman Tipton-Rosemark, Bishop Byrne, Catholic, Lausanne, FACS, Lighthouse, and Elliston are all mysteries to me, too.
  20. IMHO SBEC and Briarcrest are the teams to beat in DII West, everyone else will be playing catch-up. SBEC returns everyone from a team that made state quarterfinals last year and played tough against Father Ryan in that game. Gresh Gorman scored 49 last week against Covington! I would guess that St. Agnes will be third. Hutchison, ECS, and Harding all lost key players to graduation, so with them it will be a wait and see situation.
  21. Are they being overly aggressive and deserving of the fouls?
  22. I think what's happening in Shelby County is that the balance of power has shifted away from Germantown/Houston/Ridgeway to other schools making for more balance. The new teams just aren't used to the pressure of state yet. In D2, give St. Agnes and Hutchison a year or two for the youth to develop and one will make a bit more noise. AAA is up for grabs.
  23. Question for those that were at the Hutchison v. Baylor game. #24 for Hutchison, Joy Thompson, typically gets assigned to mark the opposing team's biggest offensive threat. Though small, she usually takes them out of their games to a point and makes them look as if they're playing poorly. Did she mark Murphy, and how did she do? 6 of Hutchison's players play for Purple Rain '88 which got beat in the state finals by a Franklin team (I believe).
  24. Thanks for the updates. I'm hoping they can grow a few inches in the next couple of years!
  25. Hutchison is both small and young. All starters (except for keeper) are freshman and sophomores. BUT they are lightening fast. Someone who saw the game let me know how it went and how how Hutch tried to deal with Baylor's depth and how Baylor dealt with Hutchison's quickness.
