    DB vs Oak Ridge

The only thing I would point out is that Oak Ridge had to beat both of those teams to win the region. Our road to win the region was far tougher than DB's. Remember, Farragut beat Ooltewah as well. Tonight we played our best ball of the season and are beginning to peak here at the right time. That said, I expect both teams to bring their "A" game and it should be another classic. Can't wait.
  6. Yes, there is tarp down. It is covered from sideline to sideline between the 30s and endzone to endzone between the hashmarks.
  7. I think the Region 1 and 2 breakdowns are just rumor. I don't think you will see a change in either one.
  8. Wow, where do I start? Scoring an average of 44.5 poiints a game not enought for you? We run out of the "I" about 60 percent of the time. Are you sure you have watched our Cats this year? Would you not run the ball with the talent we have both in the backfield and on the line? Are you sure you have watched us this season? Dude, we beat 3 top ten teans to win the region championship!! Yes, we got beat by DB, but they were the better team on that night. If we take care of business, we might get to play them again. Of course the offense looked good, they were playing the weak sisters in our region. Against tougher competition, we have struggled at times. But we have still got the job done and have won. Tell me RayRay, how far did we make it in the playoffs last year? You can look it up. To close, the next time you attend a game, buy a roster, and pay attention to the play on the field. One of our tight ends, #43, Rck Daniels-Mulholland, caught 2 touchdown passes in our boring run-oriented offense. This is the fist football he has played since his freshman year.
  9. Should be a blow out. However, give UC a lot of credit for making the playoffs. Coach McBrayer is a good coach that will bring some respectability to the football program there in Maynardsville. Good luck as well to Coach Stevens as the Roadrunners make their way in the playoffs.
  10. Lol!!! I believe the Owls are just a little better than your Sullivan County weak sisters. That being said, I say DB 28, Ooltewah 7. Ooltewah will not be able to handle the defensive pressure that DB will bring.
  11. Excessive celebration doesn't deserve an ejection. Was that the 2nd unsportsmanlike he recieved that game? I agree with my friend Bounder, he should be playing this weekend. I hope we never get this ref in the playoffs.
  12. ... but it should be better than last week when the field was uncovered on Monday night. Hopefully the wind and the warm weather was able to dry it out some.
  13. If Caldwell is healthy, it should be a good game. Ooltewah's defense reminds me a lot of DB's; lot's of speed and good tackling. IMO, the x-factor for Ooltewah will be the play of their QB. Against us, he did not appear comfortable at all in the passing game. If the Owls have any chance of an upset, the QB must have a big game.
  14. One game at a time, let's get Sevier County.
  15. They don't have season tickets at Farragut??? Not "old time football", just successful football.
  16. Thanks HotSauce! Soddy is an excellent football team that deserves 2nd place in the region. How you all lost to Ooltewah is a mystery to me. You all brought a big group of fans and they were very loud; it made for a great football atmosphere. This is a much better coached team than last year and it showed. I thought both teams made a lot of mistakes early, but you get that in the big games. Usually the winner is the one that plays through them. As far as the Refs, I thought they had a tough time the whole game. There were lots of miscommunication and I thought it really interupted the flow of the game. Good luck in the playoffs and have fun hosting a 1st round game.
  17. Congrats to Heritage for a good win to end the season. Even though we won big, I thought this year's Heritage team was much better in terms of discipline and conditioning. Good to see that pay off at the end.
  18. Yep, should be a good sloppy game at Blankenship, (it's been raining for the past couple of hours) but it should be a great game. These games have always been tough, rock em sock em affairs with lots of big hitting on both sides. In keeping with the Willie the Wildcat tradition, I will just say "Go Cats!" and predict a good win. BTW, our announcer will still not ask Soddy Daisy to leave the field during their warmups.
  19. For your reading pleasure, today's article in the Oak Ridger: Region Championship to be Decided in OR
  20. You have got to be kidding me. Maryville would kill Soddy and Ooltewah and give us a real run for our money. Sorry, Maryville is a superior 4-A team that would be in the top 5 annually in 5A. If Maryville were to move up, they would actually have competition from the 2nd round on, as opposed to waiting until the quarterfinals or semis to face a team of their caliber. Mark it down here, the only way anyone is going to beat Maryville this year is to beat them at the line of scrimmage. Personally, I don't see anyone in 4A that can that.
  21. Obviously PainTrain you take things waaaaayyyy too literally. Riverdale was just using examples of what someone might say if they were using anonymous email to accuse a school of cheating. Just be glad he used your school as an example. There are no tip lines at the TSSAA, you have to mail in a formal complaint and they will take it from there.
  22. Yes, Burnett was in for at least 2 series in the 3rd.
  23. Hey! At least our announcer won't fire up your team by telling them to get off the field. I think you will see a very focused team this Friday. I'm looking forward to some rockem sockem football.
