  1. Maryville cruises to victory and marches on to another state title! Maryville by 24!
  2. Doesn't matter what either team does, they will never beat the mighty mighty maryville rebels. Heck, they won't even make it past mowest. Tenn high always settles for being good in their area, when are you gonna man up and learn to play with the big boys down the Interstate...
  3. It must not have been too faulty. I guaranteed my spread would be accurate within 3 points... but I was wrong. It was within 4 points though.
  4. Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm ready for another state championship... yawn. I'm kidding. I am pumped to be able to have a rematch with such a talented Melrose squad. Last year was the fastest, hardest hitting defense I think I have ever seen at the high school level. If they match that same intensity, the Rebels may be in trouble this year. But I doubt that is going to happen. Of course Melrose is going to be faster, stronger, and quicker that we are. They are superior athletes. That is not what wins football games though. They may be extremely good athletes, but they just don't play smart, if you know what I mean. And that is where we rise to the occasion and win this game with relative ease. I think our defense is better than it was last year, and we held them to 6 points last year. I am going to make a bold prediction and say that we pitch a shutout, I really believe that will happen. We have stopped one dimensional teams all year, and this will be no different. So how hard can it be to beat a team when the opposition doesn't score any points? Even though are offense isn't as flashy as last year, we still get the job done. Here is my prediction for the game, and I will guarentee i come within 3 points of the final spread. Maryville 17 Melrose 0
  5. As much as I hate to admit it, this poster does have some truth in his statement. I have spoken with the some of the kids, and they would much rather Sullivan South would have won so they would not have to return to Morristown West in a playoff atmosphere. I am not saying for one second that they are scared, just maybe slightly intimidated. Good luck to both teams and everyone have a safe trip to Burke-Toney. (even though the kids aren't scared... I'm scared to death of them Trojans)
  6. I say no one touches Maryville this year. Even though they are a bit down from year's past, most other teams by comparison are down as well. Saying that, I just hope Melrose is down from what they showed last year, because if they come out hitting like they did last year.... we may be in trouble this year in our annual trip to the Boro. Come to think of it, they should just send us a free ticket to the state championship game. I want to hear someone else's opinion. Who can stop Maryville this year, and why do you think so? Give me some stats to back it up.

We have tried to schedule big out of state games similar to a matchup with Independence, but our current schedule is full of big rival games that we cannot end, not to mention the toughest 4A conference in the state. I would love to see us go beat up on some other state's powerhouses, I'm kinda tired of beating everybody around here.

H-ell would have to freeze over before our mighty Maryville Rebels would lower themselves to play a 1A team as weak as you. Period.
  9. I say Maryville overlooks Heritage this week, and Heritage slips up on them. Maryville looked sloppy last week, and the trend will no doubt continue. Maryville does not have the team that they have had in the past few years, and I'm afraid this will be down year for the Rebels. Heritage 21 Maryville 17
  10. That's right you have heard a lot of crap from the Maryville fans. Do you know why? Because we are going to destroy whoever we play, you might as well not show up. White House should go back to 3A where they can win a championship. As for Melrose, just go on home because you have no offense. Have fun in your little semifinal game, because it will all be over come Dec. 4th
  11. Shew, you guys had me worried. If he plays it'll be smooth sailin. What % do you think he'll be by Friday? And for that matter, what % will Byner be?
  12. Do you think they are just resting him up for the game, or is he seriously injured?
  13. It better not be Tallent, I don't like our offense without him in it. Byner is replacable. So who is it???
  14. I agree, go in there and haul em out. I'm just glad that the Maryville "REBELS" won't have to go to that awful place because our fans wouldn't put up with that, and it might get ugly. What makes Orange Mound so different that people can do whatever they want and there are no laws??? I guess when you live in a city with as much crime as they have, the police have to pick and choose their battles. Good luck White House! Send this no-class bunch home cryin! But if you don't, we'll gladly finish them off in Murfreesboro where there will at least be security.
  15. Football at Maryville is like a business. We run things here as they should be done in a business setting, and that is why we are so successful. We don't ride the waves of emotions, and we don't get ourselves caught up in all the hoopla. I'm not getting excited about having to play another worthless team, cause it's business as usual.
