  1. From the Oak Ridge Football Website: Oak Ridge Football Website I have in the Lussier years, 4 wins to 3 losses. I don't know how long Clark has been coaching, but I think he has a winning record against Oak Ridge. BTW, I agree, 1 win doesn't usher in an era of dominance. This has always been a tough game for both teams and probably always will be.
  2. How did everyone do? Inquiring minds want to know!
  3. This thread has waaaaay too much life to it. It needs to die a much deserved death. I thought the question was pretty ridiculous to begin with.
  4. I would like to hear more about the scrimmage from Oak Ridge and Mo West fans.
  5. Because Maryville didn't leave us that wide-open! Seriously, right now Maryville is a far better team than Mo West. Of course, since you all will probably play them twice do watch out. I know a lot of people expect us and DB to be the class of the east, but there are several good teams that might have something to say about that. That's why it's important to keep working hard and getting better. Maryville should live up to their pre-season hype and go far. BTW, Mo West will not be able to stop the Rebel passing game.
  6. Ask and you shall receive! Oak Ridge won the scrimmage 26-7. It wasn't that close. The format was more game-like than the 10 and 10. We dominated both lines of scrimmage. Gulmire and Vane ran very well. Our second unit got a lot of work. Defense line was able to rotate 8 players which if that trend holds, we'll be in good shape. Revel Coffey got a lot of work tonight at QB and looked much more comfortable back there. Scott did a very good job with the play action again. The conditions were pretty bad and that led to a lot of dropped balls. We dropped 3 sure touchdown passes that would have made the score a lot worse than it ended up. I was not impressed with Mo West's defense at all. The linebackers did not pursue well and the pass coverage was none existent. They have a lot of work to do before next week. The offense was pretty tough, but their only TD was their 1st going against our 2nd team. I like where we are at this point, there is still much work to be done, but I think this team has the potential to be something special.
  7. From Oak Ridge: Daniel Johnson #33 Emmanuel Isang #32 Revel Cofey #2
  8. Before the Maryville Fans jump all over this post (and they will), let me add my 2 cents. 1) He is a winner. When the game is on the line, Cade finds a way to make a play. 28-1 should speak for itself. 2) He has the height and a good accurate arm. 3) He has a better touch on his passes than any QB I have seen. I consider him the best QB in this part of the world, even better than Duran Furgeson (sp?) at DB. Since when is the ACC not D-1? Goodness, he could go to MTSU and still be D-1. It's still a great honor for a very good QB.
  9. Horrible news! Our prayers are with the McDaniel family and the Riverdale community.
  10. Ok.....I know there must be SOME Mo West fans out there somewhere. What kind of fan following might we expect from Morristown?
  11. Then it should be a very good test for our run defense. I just wish that Tallent and Baker had been healthy for the last scrimmage.
  12. True, he is not there now for sure (at least as of last night). However, there is still an opening for a coaching slot. Just don't know if it can be filled this year or not.
  13. Bump again. So how good is this backfield that the Trojans have returning?
  14. Thanks, when did he play? And where did he coach? I don't know, but most of staff has been intact with 1 promotion, 1 retirement (from football), and one moving on to a head-coaching position with another team. I am very pleased with the staff we have now. I watch practice just about everyday.
  15. Hey Oldcat! Where did you hear this? It would indeed be a plus to fully staffed in our football program. Who is Garfield Adams?
  16. Hey MoWest6, Could you post the same message on the original Mo West V. Oak Ridge thread? It's only 2 pages in. Thanks! BTW, just what class do you think we're in?
  17. I agree with both of you guys. Personally, I thought Cade played pretty well during the scrimmage. He made some good downfield throws, did a nice check-off at the line for a good catch and run. I just think you are seeing a very good QB getting used to a new crop of recievers that he hasn't had to rely on come game time. That will come in time. Probably by the 1st game of the season. I think Maryville will be just fine come the start of the season. You do need to get your RBs healed up though. Congrats to Cade for signing with NC and I wish him the best for his career.
  18. Really? How would you do that? Maybe we could just give the kids from Meigs their own region so they could be first EVERY year! The most ridiculous statement I have heard on these boards in a long time. If this is the attitude that the students from Meigs County HS have, then they don't deserve even 2nd or 3rd. Competition should make you better, but you have to adapt to what is dealt to you. If the teams around you are getting better, for whatever reason, then in order for you to compete you must do something different that what you have done before. We have done that in Oak Ridge, you can do that in Meigs County.
  19. Same place as the Maryville scrimmage. Thursday at 5:30 P.M.
  20. Bump to the top. Perhaps we can get Govman to comment on Mo West for us.
  21. Should be a good hard hitting scrimmage. Should be a great test for our run defense, which frankly looked pretty good against Maryville. Any thoughts from the West fans?
  22. It was a great scrimmage with a great crowd again. It is nice to be on the winning end of this one. REBELRON pretty much says it all. Considering we have had to replace both offensive and defensive lines and our defensive backfield, I think we did very well. It was a good start for our team. Defensively, we played very well against the run and ok against the pass. Offensively, I thought we were effective in moving the ball, both on the ground and in the air. However, there is much to do and improve on for both teams. We have Morristown West coming to Ben Martin next Thursday. Should be another tough test for us.
  23. I think it is a little early to make predictions about a week 3 game, but I think it will be a good one. I have only been here in Oak Ridge for 2 years, but from what I have seen of the last 3 games, the main factor is who can best capitalize on the other teams mistakes with a secondary factor of which team can manage their emotions the best and continue to play at a high level. What makes this game great for me as a fan is to see how big a game it is from the players perspective. That is why you may not see the most well-executed game from both teams, but you will see both teams give it their all. That is why on September 10th, Blankenship Field will be the place to be for High School Football!
