OK, Misshotrod, here's my last post in this subject. Mitchell has a very good football team. Milan made some mistakes and got beat. The team that makes the fewest mistakes wins. That's football. I was at the Mitchell-Milan game. Some of the Mitchell fans were very rude (and that stating it nicely)after the game. They harrassed Milan's band. It was little scarey. I would hate to think how they would have acted if Mitchell had lost. I would suggest the McKenzie administration call the Memphis PD and ask for some police presence. There was only two cars there Friday night and they were only directing traffic. Good luck, Rebels.

Congratulations to McKenzie from a Milan fan. All of West Tennessee is behind you. Good luck against Mitchell. Warning: they are fast as lightning and swarm the ball.

Unlike 90% of the other HS teams, Milan is very comfortable throwing the ball. The QB has the best arm I've seen in a long time plus #87 catches everything that comes close. They don't wait until third and long to pass, especially in the playoffs. I think Milan will beat Westview by 10 points. If Milan get ahead, the Charger fans will see Rod Smith run and run and run.

You are right Mr JJWSIV. $7 ain't that much to you (or me) but to a lot of folks in West TN it's a bunch. The Trenton radio station is using the example of a family of 4 plus Grandma spending $35 just for tickets. $35 is a day's wages for a lot of families. The Hawaiian vacation stinks. They shouldn't be using our ticket money.

I understand Chad Williams is still in very serious condition. I work with his father at Milan Arsenal. He's a great guy.

Milan added Covington next year. If Milan doesn't win the 2A title this year, they will next for sure. Everyone returns.

Milan's defense stepped up the the 2nd half and stopped Huntingdon's ground game. Huntingdon tried to pass a few time and was unsuccessful. Milan's QB and receivers were outstanding. 11 of 16 for 197 yeards.

Isn't Matt Sims, 98/99 QB, also playing at Cumberland? Also Johnnie Robinson (sp?) was on the Buffalo Bills taxi squad.

It is a shame this series has ended. The fans come out for these games.....in 2000, there was 5,000 at Crockett Co and last night 4,000 was there. Milan wants to continue but Crockett Co doesn't. I heard about Crockett Co's new region alignment and a new Jackson school and all that stuff but ending the series hurts both teams. Milan has a tough enough time finding quality opponents in West Tennessee. They will probably have to try to schedule Mayfield, Ky again or Jackson Northside. Most larger schools have nothing to gain by getting beat by 2A Milan. I hope Coach Pratt reconsiders.

I think Morris has Pratt's number. If Milan can whip CC at Alamo, then the Bulldog should have a real shot at the 2A title.

Ok, look...Crockett will not be playing Milan next year, but that doesn't mean we are trying to pad our schedule...the new Liberty High Schol in Jackson will be put into Crockett's region, which means we will have to play 6 region games, plus we are going to open the season against Westview, so I don't want to hear anyone talking about a weak schedule...there are a lot of teams that we would love to play but won't play us... I accept that explanation. The Milan newspaper implied that CC was ducking Milan but that didn't sound like CC. It will be a great game Friday night!

Any truth to the rumor that this will be the last time 3A Crockett County will agree to play 2A Milan?

If Milan easily handles Crockett County, then the Bulldogs should be considered a strong favorite for the 2A crown.

Milan - Visiting teams have to enter the field right next to the home bleachers and see the big sign about 4 State Championships. Huntingdon - Their fans expect to win every game. (and usually do).

If the receivers could catch passes, the outcome could have been different. Both teams had their chances. I knew G. West was an accurate passer but I was impressed with Westview's QB, too.

Who was the old gray-headed coot with the skinny legs roaming the sidelines at the Milan-Westview game?

The guy is only a junior. In fact most of the starters are sophs and juniors. The Jackson Sun picked Milan over Westview. But I ain't betting either way.

Looks like everyone thinks Milan will win. That's surprising.
