2 names that surfaced late Wednesday for the head coach job Nathan Farmer- Dobyns Bennett, grew up in Hixson, OC. The other is from Buford High in Ga. His last name is Brown, apparently was coach on first Ga. State football team 3 years ago. Rumor is he had Bill Curry call on his behalf.Dont know any more than that.

It shouldn't matter where a kid lives, if parents pay taxes, a kid should be able to go where he or she wants, as long as they can get them there. Apparently, some kids like going to Ooltewah, East Hamilton. I bet not many knocking down Central, East Ridge to go there.

Didn't say he wasn't a classy guy, as far as I know both father and son are good guys. I merely said He or his son will not get-or would want the job. And yes someday, young Akins might be a good head coach. But not yet. Your knock on the Owls program-kids, stadium, etc. is unfair. Also, try not to put alot of emphasis on preseason scrimmages. Remember, you guys have the same type kids Ooltewah has. It's not nice to throw rocks on your neighbors.

Alcoa, Farragut and Cleveland all had good freshman teams. If they stay together, those three teams will doinate in varsity competition for years to come.

Talk about future middle school athletes. Soddy does not even play a 9th grade football schedule. At least one against the other district teams. The reason is there are no coaches that want to do it.That is plain laziness on your entire staff. How are you gonna attract kids from loftis or soddy middle?
