  1. Camden's center field is 341' and the home run that Raymond Matlock hit was in right/center field and that is at least 325', quiet a bit futher than little league which is 200'. I thought it was a good game from both teams and Camden was just fortunate to get the hits and runs in the 6th inning to get the lead and held on in the seventh to get the win. Both teams played hard and was a good game.
  2. At Riverside/Scotts Hill Tournament Camden 12, Scotts Hill 0 TCA 2, Riverside 1 Camden 5, TCA 4

    Liquidmetal Bats

Yes, that is true, but what do you do? High School season is held during mostly cold to cool weather. I know that the warranty paper with the TPX bat that I just got replaced under warranty for my son says not to use it under 60 degrees.
  4. Camden is a better team than what Huntingdon saw last night. It just wasn't one of their better games. So please don't brag so much and do too much thumping.
  5. Camden defeated Riverside last night with a great performance from Jarrod Bain and team. Camden won 47 to Riversides 36 pts. Bain lead the team with 18 points including at least two dunks, which excited the crowd. This win put Camden at third in the district, Riverside at fourth, and McKenzie fifth. GO LIONS!!!!!!! Also the Lady Lions won defeating Riverside, 33 to 29. Great Job Lions!!!!!!!
  6. Good post and good points that you brought up. This all sounds familiar to me. My son plays all three sports too and it gets kinda hard on him sometimes. Three sports during the school year, plus hunting on weekends, and summer baseball. But he's the type that likes to stay busy, so I'd rather him playing sports than some other things that he could be doing. I think sports helps prepare him for the challenges that he will face in life, the ups and downs, and how to deal with them, among other things.
  7. The Camden girls went to Waverly and defeated a good Waverly girls team last night. Waverly was up by as much as 10 pts. before halftime. But the Camden girls went in at halftime, regrouped, and came out, played hard, and won the game. I thought that #20 and #31 for Waverly played a good game, as well as some other players. They have a good talented team that hustles.
  8. Karen Farmer has a knee injury from what I've heard. Don't know how severe it is as yet. Yes, she is missed.
  9. I think Camden has a lot of talent on their team. True, it hasn't all come together yet. And, I don't have the answer for it either. I know it seems that we should be doing better than what we are, wins vs. losses. I don't think that we are capitalizing on Bain and Reeds talent and size. Maybe if we would play more to their strengths, work them more inside and feed the ball to them from our smaller, quicker players, that we could be more successful. Don't know, just a thought. And, as far as a player not having a great game as far as points goes, good players are going to have that to happen every once in a while. Sometimes the ball just won't go in for them, or they may be guarded heavily. I've seen players not put up a lot of points, but play an awesome defensive game. And when they have a game like that, that's when the other players have to pick up their game. That is why it's a team sport. I hope the team and coach comes out tomorrow night fired up for their game against Milan. Milan is a good team, but with a great team effort, we can win! GO LIONS!!!!!

    R. Mercer, I've seen you're posts before, and all you want to do is stir up trouble. So I'll not recognize your post.
  11. Well, maybe where you're from that may be the case, but in our area that is what it is called now as well as in the past. Home Cooking is where the home team & coach have the refs favor and get the game called their way. I've seen it many times during the years that I coached and seen it in games that I have watched.
  12. Matthew Chandler scored a game-high 22 points to lead Camden past Mckenzie for a district win. Jarrod Bain added 12, Kyle Harris 12, Ben Reed 6, Josh Guajardo 3, and Chris Carney 2 for a total of 57 points. It was a battle the whole game and exciting as they get. Camden led by as much as about 14 points, but Mckenzie battled back and got as close as 5 or 6 by the end of the game. Congrad's to both teams on a well played game. :justwrestle:
  13. I agree. I sure hope we don't have any of the referee's that we had last time, especially the one that made all of the controversial calls.
  14. That is what I think the problem is for Camden, we have several talented and quick players that could come in, and I don't think we would miss a beat. Such as the way that Milan and Lexington does. I noticed that the Milan coach sent in four players at once sometimes. There is no reason that we couldn't do the same thing, because the players and the talent is there, but for whatever reason, we don't.
  15. All Region players for the Camden Lions Football Team- Linebacker - Heath Yoder Special Teams - Matthew Chandler Quarterback - Brian Markham Running Back - Josh Boyd Defensive L - John Hodge Offensive L - Josh Beasley Wide Receiver - Maurice Gastelum Punter - Josh Guajardo Honorable Mention- Offensive L - Ricky Schopf Wide Rec - Zack Brazzle Defensive B - Chad Horton Linebacker - Bryce Wilbanks
  16. I wouldn't say we didn't have the guns, they just weren't all used.
  17. Camden girls won a good hard fought game and stopped a comeback try in the 3rd and top of the fourth period to pull off a big district win at Milan. Camden seemed a little out of focus after the half but got it together to take care of business.
  18. Don't know their names, but I think that #54 and #22 were the best freshmen players that I have seen play this year for Camden.
  19. I agree RUGDU, and I'm not going to debate between the two. But I do think they are both good players and pretty equally matched. With that said, and with Ben being a senior, I would have to start him instead of Boyd.
  20. Coach Gardner from Lexington is the best I've seen around in West Tn.
  21. Clarksburg#20, there was not a fight, just emotions got out of hand from both sides, because of the officials calls which was mainly home cooking, but given some time tempers cooled off.
  22. Thank You Coach T for a great informative high school web site and all who help run it. Merry Christmas to all from Camden, Tn.
  23. I believe that Camden does have the depth needed. They have already proven that in games this season and in last years games. They do need a little more experience, but are not getting it like the Lexington and Milan teams. Their coaches tend to use their bench more to play the run and gun type offense. I think that we are capable of playing this type game. We have a few times this season.
  24. Speed Kills is right, and my thoughts exactly. Coach Gardner had a good game plan and he used his teams speed in that. I noticed he was running his players in two and three at a time to keep fresh legs in there. We didn't do that much until later in the game. I think we have the speed and the depth on the bench to do that and could have gave them a better game.
