Well so far in just recent history, Maryville has 6 - 6A championships to Oakland’s 3 … if you want to go back a little farther than that I’m ok with that and I doubt very seriously if you want to talk trash to any Maryville fan . I was on 2 State Championship teams myself… but go ahead and run your mouth all you want , I’m sure Oakland is proud knowing someone as classy as you is affiliated with the team

my thoughts too , Maryville had a great chance to win that Alcoa game . Maryville just needs to cut out mistakes, they still have one of the best RBs to ever play at Maryville. I’ve seen Maryville teams look bad during the season only to come together as a team and play their best ball when it counted . This team needs leaders to step up , Maryville can win every game they have left , but not with the effort and mistakes they had last night . Knocking someone to the ground after the whistle has blown is a totally selfish thing to do , especially for a senior, not caring that it will hurt your team is selfish. Disciplined , unselfish Football has won a lot of Games for Maryville over the last 20 years and it still can today. I am surprised that this coaching staff hasn’t even thought of giving another Qb some meaningful Snaps , Maryville has usually always given the backup Qb meaningful snaps , and I don’t see how that could hurt us this year . Maybe a different look , a different style?

Season's not over yet ... hopefully we'll go as far as Mt Juliet ! Congratulations Cleveland ! Gotta be a great feeling and you guys definitely played your hearts out ! Maryville team definitely looked flat , I'm starting to wonder about the leadership ... they have to know they have a huge target on their back every time they put the uniform on . Maryville making way too many undisciplined mistakes , and some by the veterans who need to be the Leaders . I've got to mention the 3 man Rush thing going on , I absolutely hate it ! Tennessee nearly lost to Florida by playing passive Defense and Maryville is doing the same thing . Everyone thinks Maryville they think Offense , Maryville won a ton of State Championships by playing Super aggressive on Defense ! If your Secondary is not a strength dropping 8 men back is NOT the only way to help them , the QB running for his life is a huge help to the secondary !! We have some extremely athletic Defensive ends this year that could pressure any QB but it seems like their hands get tied a LOT !! Well a 3 man rush for Maryville is just as effective as it is for Tennessee… it lets the other team score much quicker.

Most Adults just want a Coach that can show the kids a little Discipline ... I was in the Marines , I've heard every Cuss word on the Planet , but I also have enough Discipline to control myself in front of young kids . Preaching Discipline to your kids while having out of Control frothing at the Mouth Cussing fits I'm sure Impresses the young men .

I definitely agree with you and someone else mentioned #9 getting more carries . I'd even like to see #9 take several direct snaps during the game . I love Noah Vaughn taking direct snaps for us and hope we use that a lot more going forward . Putting the ball in your best playmaker's hands with an extra blocker is a win win situation

BTW , I hope the Alcoa QB is ok , man that Kid is a Gamer ! He tried to put the team on his back and carry them to a win last night . He was the difference in the Maryville game I thought , not only a great passer but he's a great runner too !

You're being very generous Nut , he was in the perfect Position to see the Play and that's what makes his call so Terrible . I appreciate these guys who are putting the time in to help our communities , but guys like this makes everyone look bad . I saw a great game last night where both teams played their hearts out and if this Ref had been the one who decided the outcome of this game it would have been a tragedy . Fans will always argue over holding calls because they're just about a little holding going on during every single play , but when a Ref throws a flag for hitting someone 2 yards in bounds during the most critical time of the Game ... That's pitiful . I think both of these teams will go on and win State Championships this year and I'm glad that Maryville is playing both of them because great competition can only make you better .

Several years ago I started meeting a few posters from here , even some I argued with ... what I found out was they were all great guys who enjoy Football in it's purest Form ... took the sting out of some of my fun arguing on here ... LOL I do still enjoy mixing it up a little bit every now and then ... as you well know .
